Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns; Day 3

It's day 3 of Digit-al Dozen pattern challenge  (I'm late, I'm sorry but life is just so busy!)!  I just did these nails a couple days ago; I thought I had done the mani's for the challenge (and I have!) but I liked these nails just a little better than another so decided to share now instead of another one!  The other Digit-al Dozen ladies are so talented; I have to try to bring my best mani's to try to keep up lol!  Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie All Over The Wave, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Different Dimension Envy, part of the newly released 7 Deadly Sins collection.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa A using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to add a few dots for colour and interest, added them using Painted Polish Stamped in Starfruit.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Fluid Art Fail Made Pretty Cool Decal!

I'm sorry for being absent this last week or so; life has just been kicking me in the butt and I haven't had time to do any posts, etc. even though I'm still changing up my nails almost every day...night I mean, usually around 1 am as that's when I'm finding time to do them!  Thank you for hanging in there and waiting for me to post versus just unfollowing me on whatever media you do follow!  I sincerely appreciate it!

This mani was from a fluid art fail from when I was sampling different fluid additives to see if they would create cells for DYI fluid art including sampling different silicone mats so see how they smooshed, helped in the cell process etc.  The result was a fail as far as fluid art goes but it did turn out a pretty cool mat decal so I still added it to my nails and did some stamping and was pretty happy how it ended up looking, even if it was a fluid art fail!  Here's what I came up with!

Started out with the failed fluid art decal.  I'm not sure actually which polishes I used other than LA Colors but I know for these fluid arts, I've been pretty much sticking to non indie polishes and those that are on the lower end of retail costs because they use up so much polish and because at the time, I was doing a lot of experimenting and I didn't want to use up some of my indie or high end polishes! I actually found some notes on this; used LA Colors Family Ties, NYC Polyester Pink, NYC Snow White, WetnWild Who Is Ultra Violet and LA Colors Punchy were the polished used for the base.

But before I do get to the nails, this is Ms. Cindy wearing the LA Colors Family Ties which is an amazing hot pink gel polish! I wore it alone on Ms. Cindy while wearing the mani I'm sharing now.  Absolutely love the colour, finish, shine and application of this polish!  I thinkkkk I had found these in Dollar Tree for $1.25 each over the winter and pretty much bought one of every colour they had and so happy that I did!

But back to the nails; applied decal to the nails, did clean up, etc.

Applied KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa I using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I think this turned out to be a pretty cool mani and is exactly what I love about stamping; an interesting image that you can see the interesting base below can make awesome nails!  Or in this case, the stamping saved the mani because remember, it was a fluid art fail that I went with anyway but it did end up creating a pretty cool base for the stamping!  Never be afraid to try out your fail; worst case is you've used some time and acetone and you have another canvas for your next creation!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for looking!

Experimenting With Layering Again!

I'm still experimenting with layering polishes; one of my favourite things to do is to top a base polish with an interesting topper or a sheerer polish anyway and see how it turns out.  And to finish it with some stamping, of course!  I did these back in March and while the colour combination is a little interesting, I think it works!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Misa Dirty Sexy Money, no top coat.  This was one of those sought after polishes back in the day and I'm glad I was able to snag it!  Formula is a little thin but personally, as long as it builds to opaque in two coats, I prefer thin as I find it easier to clean up!

Can we talk about that shine?  No top coat and so bright you need sunglasses!

Topped with a coat of Glam Polish Part of Your World.

Little darker lighting but you can see the beauty of the polish a little bit better.  Lots of interest here and it is a great polish for a topper but dense enough to layer to opaque.

Bottle shot of Glam Polish Part of Your World.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Shown again in different lighting to see polish topper a little bit better.

Stamped with image from Apipila Super Placa H using Painted Polish Autumn Twilight 2.0.

Lots of interest there!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Loving this shift in the Glam Polish, just adds so much more interest to the nails!

I love experimenting with layering; I only wish I had more time to do more of it!  I know it isn't time consuming to do the actual nails; it is the time to search through my stash to come up with polishes (and plates!) to use!

Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Colours; Day 3

I'm a little late with sharing these nails but have had a couple wild and crazy days!  So this is a perfect time to share these wild and crazy nails for day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen colours challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

I wanted some bright and colourful nails so picked out these Potion Polishes:  High Roller, Lava Lamp, Punch Buggy, Celebration, On the List and V.I.P. Pass.

Did a stamper smooshy base.  I was surprised based on the colours that I had picked that the base wasn't brighter, but with smooshy stamper art, you take it as it falls lol.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa A using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

While I really loved how this turned out, I also thought it would be the perfect mani to matte. So the next day, topped with a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.  I love how it turned out too; I couldn't decide which I liked better!

Another Blue Floral Mani

If you read my last post, you'll see I'm not joking about wanting to do floral mani's all the time!  Another quick and easy one, this time, letting the beauty of the awesome base polish shine through!  This is also my last blue mani for the month of April.  Hopefully you have enjoyed them! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Great Lakes Lacquer Spring at Prospect Park, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Apipila P69 using MdU 1.

Apipila P69.

Added dots using MdU 6.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I hope you have enjoyed all the blue mani's this month!  I still have more to share but they will have to wait until another time....maybe even next April!  As much as I love blue, I'm also looking forward to sharing some other cool mani's that aren't blue!

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Albums; Day 3

Hopefully you have been enjoying the album mani's this week!  This is my day 3 mani with a tribute mani based upon a KISS album; took a few liberties because there are no face images of KISS (except Gene which is on a MdU plate that I happen to have on order but won't help for now!  Just realized his face is also on a MoYou London Back to the 70's plate too that I just looked at that I have too!)  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a skittle base of KBShimmer Eyes White Open, China Glaze Flame-boyant, Sally Hansen Celeb City and OPI Envy the Adventure, all two coats, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a few stamper decals using images from Apipila L18.  Filled in with KBShimmer Eyes White Open with a little SH Celeb City on nose of catman.

Apipila L18.

Applied them.  Stamped thumb with Delaney Musique 001 for interest.

After adding a few accent stars from MoYou London Roxy 04 using Konad red stamping polish and MdU 1 and 2, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the album cover that the nails are based upon!
