Digit-al Dozen Does Marble; Day 3

I'm late with my day 3 Digit-al Dozen mani but what else is new lately!

This mani didn't turn out to be what I had in mind but that's OK, I don't think that's unusual when you do your nails.  In my case, I had done a test nail with my vision using a pretty chunky glitter but when I sat down to do my nails, decided I didn't want to deal with the hassle of removing a chunky glitter on all my nails so went with a blingy holo that has easy removal instead!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Apipila p.6 using FunkyFingers Dark knight.

Stamped an image from Delaney Papillons 001 using MdU 69.

Shadow stamped same image using MdU 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This isn't the best picture but it shows the stamping a little better.

For reference, this was my test nail.  I just like how it turned out better.  But am happy didn't have the chunky glitter to remove!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's!  The other ladies are killing this challenge; please go check them out!

Digit-al Dozen Does 4; Day 2

Here's my day 2 mani for Digit-al Dozen does 4.....the FAB 4!

Started with a base of two coats of piCture pOlish Beige.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I had come up with what I hoped to be a cool looking base on the drive home from work; it started with an alcohol spray base of CND Gold Chrome; here is it getting read for the spray!

Sprayed with alcohol.

Then dipped in my fingers!  I did two at a time to speed up the process which helped!

My thumb is by far my favourite nail!

After cleanup; this took forever as gold shimmer everywhereeeeeeeeeeeee!  But I did try to get as much off as possible!

Stamped with an image from Apipila P.06 using CND Silver Chrome.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Using FunkyFingers Dark Knight, stamped images from Chez Delaney Musique 001.  (This was another time when the jelly stamper would not pick up so tried for placement as good as possible with regular stamper  I didn't do the thumb too good and had a big empty spot at the cuticle so put the words.)  There was also some voids left in a few spots in the hair so did brush touch up as needed. Added "The Beatles" from ZZ Arts 1 on the thumb, then FAB from FUN 12 (or pick any of the FUN plates bahahahaha!) and lastly stamped 4 using Nailways Back to Basics ABC 124.

Chez Delaney Musique 001

ZZ Arts 1

Added a few notes from same Chez Delaney Musique 001 for filler here and there and topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I thought that the cool base (to me, anyway!) would show up better if the mani was matte; used Girly Bits Polish Matte'rs.  I can't decide if my fave look is with top coat or not!!!  I am also mildly obsessed with the little bit of gold that peeks through the mustache on the thumb too; it is kinda cool to me lol!

Here's the other ladies Day 2 mani's related to 4!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July if you are celebrating!  I did these nails yesterday; I didn't plan it very well as I only had one set of plates with me (Apipila) and limited polishes so had to come up with an Independence Day mani using what I had on hand but was pretty happy how these turned out considering!

Started with a base of two coats of Quo by Orly Mega Silver with an accent of Barielle Bold n Confident topped with an unnamed Pixel polish (the name might have been on the bottle but I couldn't make it out if it was!)  While not shown, topped everything off with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I have to say, stamping this was a pain in the arse!  The image with the lines is from Apipila p.06.  As you probably know, straight lines with squishy stamper equals crooked lines, so took many attempts with several stampers to get them straight.  I didn't have many stamping polishes with me and no navy ones, so searching through what I had on hand and after trying out a few, ended up using Maybelline Navy Narcissist for the stripes, which dried super fast.  Even after closing all the windows and turning off the fan, dried at the speed of lighting!  Some nails took many attempts to get all the lines stamped and a few, the tailings at the end wrecked the image and had to redo.  But I managed to eventually get them stamped as good as was going to happen!

I was only able to stamp about 4 stars in total before the clear jelly stamper head I was using totally disintegrated.  So had to do the best I could with a regular stamper for the rest.

Finished the remaining stars at the tips using red Konad special polish with an image from Apipila Kids A. This might have been the end look if I wasn't able to stamp the line of stars decently on the accent.

Stamped stars from same image plate on accent; the first row turned out OK so decided to do a few more.

I was able to line up a second and third row of stars decently for the end result.

Topped everything off with a final coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

This is final mani in the sun; the shade pix are more accurate though but the sun makes the silver really sparkle!

Enjoy the 4th if you are celebrating!

Green Matchy Marble

When I sat down to do my nails one afternoon a couple weekends ago, I noted that a newly purchase polish matched pretty well with a stamping polish that I had with me brought with me.  Hey, the mani inspiration is just that simple sometimes lol.  So I sat down to do my nails solely with the purpose to use them both in the mani; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; no top coat (no pix as have shown before).  Did a gradient sponge with Cosmetic Arts Spiked Punch.  This was a great find at $1.99 from Giant Tiger.

Sunlight.

Added a couple coats of Essie As Gold As It Gets (Another deal of $3 at Dollerama!)

Sunlight.

Stamped using Mundo de Unas 61 Figi using an image from Apipila p6.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

You can tell I was on vacation by the state of my nails in these pix; this was the last of five days that I had been away over the Labour Day long weekend.  Oh well; nothing stops me from doing my nails!

Hope you had a great weekend; thank for looking!

Hot Air Balloons!

These nails are almost painful for me to look at but I'm sharing anyway!  My blog has always been about sharing the good with the bad; the successes with the failures....and while I don't mind the stamping on these, it's the nails, particularly the shape...or lack thereof, that are so bad! Back in April, I had cut down my nails and after I cut them while they were growing out, the middle finger broke not once, but twice.  But that didn't stop me from painting my nails and stamping! I always share my nails when they are short too just to show that you don't need long nails to do some interesting stamping!  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen Barracuda.

Natural light; shade.

Stamped clouds using white Konad special polish.  (I deleted my notes on this mani by accident and can't readily find the plate number.  Will update.)

Added hot air balloons the full size image from Apipila P.6, but isolated the larger hot air balloons from the image and placed on each finger individually using assortment of Sally Hansen Insta-dries.  The basket is black Konad special polish.

Using same polishes and same image, added a few more of the smaller hot air balloons.  Top coated to finish.

I have a bunch of mani's in archives that will be showing up at sometime featuring the nubs and poor nail shape...you are forewarned!

Hope you're having a good week; thanks for looking!

Girly Bits Hot Shot

Not a blue mani! lol!  As much as it was great to wear blues in support of Autism Awareness, it was also great to do a mani that wasn't blue!  Girly Bits released some new colours not too long ago; I was able to snag a few during one of llarowe's stocks.  I was lucky enough to get Hot Shot, which was calling my name (but missed out on Bachelor's Button which I'll try to snag next restock...and seen Harlow and Co. got them in too but I missed out there too!).  Hot Shot is a colour I know I'll get a lot of use from and will reach for time and time again. This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of Color Club Pink Flame; this is two coats, no topcoat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits Hot Shot.  This has no topcoat.

Bottle pix of Hot Shot with the new Girly Bits label!

Stamped with Apipila P.06 with accent of Apipila E using white Konad special polish.  I was looking for a feminine stamp, but contrasting look so it wasn't over the top girly and I think this fit the ticket.  The butterflies added a feminine look as the accent in addition to feminine colour, but did the other fingers offset it so its not way over the edge feminine.  Does that make sense?  It made sense in my head was I was looking for image plates!  In hindsight, I thought the non accent image looks like crackle which is kinda cool!

Topped with SV.

Looking at the mani's I have to post, there's a lot of holographic to come! I've received new Jades, nailnation3000, Aly's Dream Polish, Literary Lacquers, LA Girls 3-D holo's....and have Dance Legend and Avon orders coming ...my Avon lady actually called and left a message on Friday that she was able to order them in advance of the campaign and they have arrived and are being dropped off early in the week.....maybe May will be holo month! That is after Digit-al Dozen Bling Week which starts tomorrow!  Edit:  I realized after I posted this that Bling Week starts May 13th...oops!

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend; thanks for looking!
