Digit-al Dozen Does Marble; Day 3

I'm late with my day 3 Digit-al Dozen mani but what else is new lately!

This mani didn't turn out to be what I had in mind but that's OK, I don't think that's unusual when you do your nails.  In my case, I had done a test nail with my vision using a pretty chunky glitter but when I sat down to do my nails, decided I didn't want to deal with the hassle of removing a chunky glitter on all my nails so went with a blingy holo that has easy removal instead!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Apipila p.6 using FunkyFingers Dark knight.

Stamped an image from Delaney Papillons 001 using MdU 69.

Shadow stamped same image using MdU 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This isn't the best picture but it shows the stamping a little better.

For reference, this was my test nail.  I just like how it turned out better.  But am happy didn't have the chunky glitter to remove!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's!  The other ladies are killing this challenge; please go check them out!

Digit-al Dozen Does Holo; Day 3

Raise your hand if you were like me: searching through your stash to pull all the Christmas/wintery looking plates and polishes around the last week of November?  Yep, that was me and thankfully I did because I rediscovered this Noodles Nail Polish and used it here for day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen holo challenge!

Started with a base of two coats each of Digit-al Dozen Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars with accents of Noodles Nail Polish Arctic Nights.  As an FYI, Different Dimension made available Kiss Me Under The Light Of A Thousand Stars again (as it was initially part of a LE trio) and it is in stock last I checked (today).  It is my favourite go to 'neutral' right now and I was really happy to pick up a back up bottle recently.    I say neutral as it goes with so much and is just happiness in a bottle to me!  I also love that removal is so easy as well.  I have reached for it time and time again when I can't commit to another polish.  Go, Go, Go, Go!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Ejiubas Ejb-03 using Mdu 3.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Look Up; Day 5

I have tried to postpone today's mani but unfortunately the time has come.  Yes, the dreaded s and c words.  Snow and cold!  Last night, I drove through a pretty significant snow system and today is the coldest November 22nd on record - yes, it's frickin cold!  So I decided to post snowflakes for day 5 of look up challenge as last night when I looked up into the sky, that was all I could see!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under the Light of a Thousand Starts (thumb and middle), Different Dimension Living the Dream and OPI (to update).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using OPI (to update), then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped thumb and middle using image from UberChic UC Holiday Jingle using MdU 3 and Ejiubus EJB-03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Added image from Marianne Nails Professional n.31 to accent, plus added a few extra snowflakes using images from same plate.

Marianne Nails Professional n.31.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies day 5 mani's!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US nail pals if you are celebrating today!  And to anyone who is in cold temperatures like me, try to stay warm!

Bloody Holo Halloween Nails!

You may not believe this but these were actually my attempt to do some neutral, office appropriate yet Halloween themed nails!  Ha ha!  The silver holo is so much more neutral than the typical orange, purple, black nails so I went with this holo base and because I was wearing a red jacket, went with red stamping to match.  I was thinking what red stamping goes with Halloween....gory blood nails!  This is what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars.  I have reached for this polish soooo often; it is my new go-to polish if I can't decide on anything.  And I use it like a neutral even though it is nothing but!

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Lina Make Your Mark 01 on all nails except thumb, which is Dixie Plates Halloween 2017 using red Konad stamping polish.

Lina Mark Your Mark 01.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I have a few more Halloween mani's to post but am having computer issues so I may be only able to share on IG until I get them resolved but hopefully will get them up before Halloween!

Happy (Belated) Canada Day!

I'm late with my post but I sure do hope all my fellow Canadians had a fabulous Canada Day!  I had shared these on IG and had planned to share on the blog, etc. on July 1st but unfortunately, the wifi connection wasn't that great in cottage country for me to finish my blog post.  Plus I was too busy enjoying the beautiful weather and the Canada Day festivities!  So here are my (late) Canada Day nails!

As you can see, my nails are shorter than I usually wear them.  This is because my middle nail had a crack way at the cuticle that has been growing out for weeks; perhaps even months, it's so long I cannot remember lol.  I had been able to hold it with a couple coats of Salon Sciences Fiber Network until the crack grew out to the free edge but then it began snagging on items so I had to cut it down so it wouldn't tear badly, then cut down the rest of them.  The middle is a little shorter than I like but the rest are a length that I wear often and if you have followed my blog for a while you know that long, short, hang nail or not, I still do and share my nails.  (Also, really bad timing for my Indie Expo Canada 2018 reviews which is why not much has been posted.) So even thought the middle nail is a traitor, I still did my nails...too many plates and polishes to let a short nail get me down!  I was originally going to keep my nails pretty neutral to detract from the middle shorty, but then I thought, hey, it's Canada's birthday and the weekend is going to be a scorcher; I need bling!  This is two coats of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars, two coats.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Konad red special polish using images from CJS True North Strong.  Thank goodness for the CJS Big Bling stamper for placement!  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Unfortunately, all that bling and topcoat didn't translate well into pictures so this is my picture in the kitchen immediately when I finished; you can see the stamping a little bit better!

I then left for work and O. M. G. the holo really was showing while I was sitting in my car waiting for the AC to kick in; hello holo!

I wore these nails from June 28th right through until July 3rd until I did 4th of July nails; they were the perfect nails (to me anyway!!!!) to celebrate the long Canada Day weekend especially with the hot, sunny days!

No Canada Day would be complete without the mandatory red and white Canada Day treat, vanilla ice cream and fresh, local strawberries!  Yum Yum!  Let's just say I had this for dessert on more days than the one!

Shadow, Shadow Stamping!?!

I think this was a good mani in theory but pretty much a fail in practise but I think it's cool none the less!  I had this idea to do triple stamping but in shadow method so thought I would give it a try!  I did OK on a couple nails and not so good on others but still OK overall I think!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Oh Joy! It's a Boy!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 3 using an image from UberChic UC1-02.

Shadow stamped using same image from UC 1-02 using MdU 1.

Then stamped again (shadow, shadow stamping?) using MdU 3 again.  This was the most successful nail I think, at least you can make out the three stamps side by side versus slightly off.  Not perfect, but you can see the intent anyway lol.

The entire hand; index finger stamped pretty good too.  The rest are just a hot mess lol.  Even with a clear jelly stamper, cannot get it right!   I think part of the problem was that this is a pretty busy image and it was pretty ambitious to shadow stamp once, never mind a second time.  The rest of the nails look cool none the less like abstract art I think just not the shadow/shadow look that was intended!

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Another St. Patrick's Day Mani!

St. Patrick's Day is sneaking up and with next week being Digit-al Dozen week, I won't have much time to share many more mani's.  Here's what I had on a couple days ago!

Started with a base of Different Dimension Fernweh and Paint Polish Shamrock Your World, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Bunny Nails HD-B (thumb), UC Mini: St. Patrick's Day (index and words on ring), MoYou Festive Collection-21 (pinky and small shamrock accents on middle and ring) and Messy Mansion MM04 (middle).

Added a couple more shamrocks, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!
