Happy Easter!

I've always wanted to do an Easter mani using Easter lilies and when I sat down last night to do Easter nails, I decided that it would finally be the day!  Here's what I came up with!

Initially, I was going to do my usual stamping on all fingers, but thought I would do something more simple for these nails.  As knew that for the lilies, I would have dark green and yellow as part of the accent nail, so when I was looking for glitter polishes, wanted something with both yellow and green and Girly Bits Erin Go Braugh-less fit the bill!  This is two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with one coat of Girly Bits Erin Go Braugh-less on top of one coat of Essence 159 The Green and the Grunge, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped middle finger using an image from MoYou Pro 11 using Funky Fingers Dark Night and Mundo de Unas X.  Ring finger is using MoYou Festive Collection 14 using Mundo de Unas 11 and 7.  Added a couple butterflies from Infinity 54.  Added few more green leaves by brush on the lily and dots in centre of lilies.

This isn't MoYou Pro 11; it is MoYou Pro 7 which I intended to use to get all three lilies on the nail; but unfortunately, the lilies didn't stamp that well so had to use the larger image instead.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This is the image I really wanted to use which is a Pet'la plate.  This is my testing out the image sizes to see if I could get it somehow to fit on my nails.

Have a great Easter Sunday; thanks for looking!

Easter Nails

When I sat down to do my nails last night, I thought I hadn't done many Easter nails, so decided to do one; this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; topped with two coats of KBShimmer on top (no pix).  Stamped using images from Infinity 54 (thumb) and Infinity 35 (middle), then top coated again in prep for lead lighting.

Used assortment of 10.1 Polish jellies for lead lighting, except the palette which is a Zoya.

Infinity 54

Added assortment of images from Messy Mansion MM08 (peep on ring), Nailways Spring Time Easter Bunny (bunny on index), MoYou Festive Collection-14 (ring), MoYou Festive Collection-09 (pinky) and Infinity 76 (Easter wording on ring).  Used assortment of Mundo de Unas stamping polishes.

Added dots, dots and more dots for filler and interest then top coated to finish with KBShimmer Clearly ton top.

Hope you're having a great Easter weekend; thanks for looking!

(Different) Easter Nails!

I finally tried a new (to me!) technique!  Don't get all excited; I haven't foray into the world of water marbling.  Or inks.  Or any other new technique floating around.  Perhaps some day.  I don't actually know the name for this.  The Blob Method?  Dot Method maybe? When I sat down to do my first Easter nails, I thought this really would be a great plate to use for some water marbling.  But decided that sitting down at midnight to do your very first water marbling probably isn't a good thing.  So I thought I would do sponging but thought, been there, done that.  What next can do I do pack a bold punch of colours? So did dots!  I'm not overly impressed with how this came out but maybe it was enough incentive to try a water marble, who knows.

Here's what I came up with.

Started with a base coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Then added assortment of dots or blobs of polish to cover the white using all Glam polishes; Pink Ladies, Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee, Summer Nights, We Go Together and Grease is the Word.  I didn't cover the white 100% but just hoped that area would be covered with the stamping.  Then top coated to quicken dry time.

After thinking that some of these blobs were fairly thick, left them to dry for about 45 minutes before stamping. (Thank goodness for PVR; watched an intensive hour of Intervention condensed into about 40 minutes when you can fast forward the commercials.)

Stamped using Messy Mansion MM08 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Messy Mansion MM08 (I thought I had taken a pix before scrapping but didn't).

Top coated to finish.

There was no way I was going to dot my other hand; did skittles using the same polishes and stamped with same plate and polish.

I'm on the fence about this.  As much as I'm a lover of busy nails, this just looks like a hot mess.  I think it might have been better with lighter polishes; not sure. I still think this would be an awesome plate for some neon water marbling.  Some day, maybe lol!

Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 4

I'm a day late getting this post up...the stat holiday today just means cramming the same amount of weekly work into 4 days versus doing it in 5....just longer hours all week for me....by the time I got home yesterday, I was just too tired to do the post!  Sometimes, it seems hardly worth taking the day off.....then, today, I woke up not feeling the best.....anywayyyy, enough excuses lol..... we are still on texture week for Digit-al Dozen; here's the mani I came up with for Day 4!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff on all fingers except accent, which is L'Oreal The Palace Life, topped with SV.

Stamped using MoYou Festive-14 (pinky), W212 (thumb), W105 (index) and MoYou Festive-09 (middle and ring).  Stamping polishes are white Konad, black, bubble blue and avocado FUN, Mundo de Unas 15 and 16.

W212

Using assortment of jelly polishes (L'Oreal Miss Pixie, L'Oreal Mango Mamma, OPI I'm Never Amberrassed, and OPI Don't Violet Me Down), coloured eggs on index finger.

Added dots using texture polishes; Sinful Ruby Mine, Nicole by OPI Lilac Gumdrops, Nicole by OPI Candy is Dandy and Kiko 643.

I was really trying to leave big dollops of the texture polish to get a raised look...here's a close up to show how much!

Decided to outline the eggs on the index using Sinful Ruby Mine.

Added flocking powder on index, middle and ring fingers.

Added a few more dots on middle to finish.  Left like this; no topcoat on any nails.

Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 2

With Easter just around the corner, I thought it would be cool to create an Easter mani using texture for one of the DD texture challenges.....this mani is also going to do double duty as it's my entry in the Nail Polish Canada Easter contest; if you are interested in voting, please go here and vote for your favourite!

I've never used flocking powder before so wasn't sure how it was for coverage, so I started with a thin coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Doing each finger individually, I applied a clear coat on the nail then sprinkled the flocking powder on my nails (except the thumb which I dipped into the pot but think it was too heavy).  I did this on top of a piece of paper and then took a fan brush and removed any excess onto the paper.  When I was done, put the excess back into the flocking pot.

See on my thumb near the right side, about half way, how thick it is? That's why I sprinkled on the rest!

Stamped using FUN black stamping polish using MoYou Festive-09 (ring, middle and thumb), Nailways Springtime 0006 (pinky) and Bunny Nails HD-b (index).  The pink is Mundo de Unas #15.  The second, lower bunny on the pinky didn't stamp that well and I did most of it by brush lol!

MoYou Festive-09

Added a bit more colour using Mundo de Unas #15 to finish.

As much as I loved the look of this, I didn't have great wear with this.  Less than 24 hours, this is what my nails looked like.  I found that almost instantly, when I washed my hands or dried them on a towel, the black smudged off and got progressively worse until there was nothing left!  I don't know if a different black stamping polish would have better overall results as clearly, the pink stayed on well.  I'll have to try it again to see!  I had no problem getting the flocking powder off; removal was just as easy as regular polish which was a plus!

Here's the other ladies Day 2 texture mani's; be sure to check them out!

Easter Eggs!!

Sorry for the unexpected blog hiatus...it wasn't planned but life just go in the way of doing posts!  I've still been doing mani's just haven't been able to finish a post.  This is a mani I did for this past Sunday's Adventure's in Stamping pastel challenge and almost a week later and am finally finishing the post.  Better late than never as the saying goes! I've already posted it in the group but hadn't here so thought now is as good of a time as any to to it!

Started with a base of skittles; polishes used starting at thumb and going clockwise are L'Oreal Macaroon Me Madly, Jessica Lime Cooler, L'Oreal Royally Yours, Butter London Molly Coddled and Jessica Banana Peel, all two except Macaroon Me Madly, which is 3.  Topped with SV.

Stamped using MoYou Festive Collection-13 (thumb), MoYou Festive Collection-14 (index and ring), Pueen38 (middle) and BM-402 (pinky) with Konad white special polish.
