Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland; Day 5

It's Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen Winter Wonderland challenge!  I know I already said this before, but the ladies have been nailing this weeks theme; truly some amazing mani's been shared this week!  Hopefully you've had a chance to check them out!

This is my Day 5 mani; a vintage winter evening ride home to the homestead! (Not sure if this is how is looks but that was the intention!)

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, topped with one coat of Contrary Polish Frozen.

Taking a cue from my fellow Digit-al Dozen member Sassy Shelly, who did a gray gradient here that I absolutely adored, decided to sponge on Glam Polish Lisbeth.

I have no idea what that dot was on my finger (probably in the sponge) but it annoyed me greatly, so picked it out as best as I could, then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.  This is yet another base that I would see so much use for stamping on top; I'm sure it will make an appearance at some point over the winter!

For the scenery, I first added the horse and carriage from WM59 using Konad black special polish and Mundo de Unas 23.  Then added the house from Infinity 13 using black Konad special polish.  Next, stamped the trees on the ring and pinky using Infinity 75 using black Konad special polish and Mundo de Unas 7.  Some of the path on the ring finger, I brushed in to make solid.  Lastly, using MoYou Mother Nature Collection-09, stamped in the barn and weather vane using black Konad special polish and Mundo de Unas 09.  I did the image shrinking technique and even then, barely got them to fit.  And yes, the sideway stamping was intentional; when I planned this in my head, the look was suppose to be as if the carriage was going along the path, heading home and the barn in farms is usually behing the house (if only my thumb could turn sideways and be higher up like I've seen other bloggers do!) but it was the best I could do.  Added the moon on middle finger using Infinity 75 using CND Silver Chrome, then high lighted with brush and white Konad special polish.

MW59.

MoYou Mother Nature Collection-09

Added a wreath over the front door, hand painted in more path on the middle finger and dabbed Mundo de Unas 48 here and here on trees for interest. Touched up the barn better, etc.

Top coated to finish.

Like so many other mani's this week, decided to matte it, mainly so imagery could be seen better.

In hindsight to make this a little bit more wintery, I should have added in some falling snow and maybe put some snow on the trees, etc. and maybe could have down with a darker backdrop, but none the less, I was pleased how this turned out! I particularly like the snowy look on the roof of the house.

Hopefully you have enjoyed this weeks challenge mani's!  I had a lot of fun doing them!

Here's the other ladies Day 5 mani's!

Thanks for looking!  Now onto more seasonal and holiday themed mani's..............they will be coming!

Dear Husband....

.....tomorrow is Mother's Day.

Here's a couple gift ideas to make it easy for you so that I don't get a vacuum like I got last year, or the weed puller like the year before that:

- flowers of any sort....real, potted, hanging baskets, bouquet, any always work.
- Tim Horton's gift card.
- dinner with the family; breakfast in bed. Either or.
- jewellery...bonus points if it involves diamonds....
- a new purse...doesn't have to be Chanel...any would be fantastic
- shoes (I need new running shoes by the way)
- trip...again, doesn't have to be to Paris but any location would be a dream
- and of course, when in a pinch, nail polish. Nail polish is ALWAYS appreciated.

Love, your wife.

For this mani, used Orly Fancy Fuchsia, white Konad special polish and IP's MW59, BM09, Konad m77 and two unmarked.

Here's Orly Fancy Fuchsia by itself. Unfortunately, this pix isn't colour accurate but the best I could get with the lighting I had. In this case, fast fading sunlight.

The really funny thing about the weed puller, is I don't even do the gardening at our house....my HUSBAND does. So my Mother's Day gift wasn't even for me....how's that for 52 hours labour for three kids? (And to anyone who thinks I'm joking about the weed puller...or the vacuum....unfortunately, I'm not. We really did need the vacuum tho...lol. And if I'm being really honest...none of this is really a big deal cause I'm blessed with a husband who doesn't question the number of polishes I own, nor the number of image plates, special polishes, accessories such as rhinestones, money spent on swapping polishes, etc etc. so I guess there are things worse than getting a weed puller for Mother's Day!!!)

To anyone who is a mother, have a fantastic day! I hope that you enjoy your special day with your family and are able to enjoy a little RnR! To anyone who isn't, please make sure to visit or call your mother on this day honouring all mothers! Or honour them in another way that may be special for you and your mother...anything except by gifting them a weed puller!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Royal Wedding Inspired Mani...

With the Royal Wedding just hours away now, I decided to do a Royal Wedding mani cause I'm a theme kinda nail gal!

Here's what I came up with.

Used a base of China Glaze White out and to add a little bit more sparkly pizazz, one coat of Arezia #645, which is lightly mango scented.

Stamped using Konad special polishes in red, black, green and violet pearl, CND Gold Chrome and Nicole by OPI Positive Energy.

And because I had a few other images I couldn't fit on one hand, I decided to do my right ***warning*** messy cleanup and scraggly cuticles ahead!

Used fauxnad plates T04, T22, T46, BM08, BM09, C02, H17, P19, MW59, MW63, fauxnad C, fauxnad D and K06.

Here's the basecoat before stamping.

And just to share, the stamping image plate had three different brides and grooms on it; you can see the one I chose for the mani....which had something to do with this 'cause I was a little partial to the image...

Wayyyyy back when I got married, this was the theme of wedding invites, napkins, favour tags, wedding programs, etc etc.

I haven't decided if I'm going to get up early and watch the Royal Wedding...probably will as I still remember setting my alarm for the middle of the night when Charles and Diana got married all those years ago. I'm not a Royal watcher or fanatic or anything, but it is a historical event so I'm sure I'll be up...all bleary eyed, but up!

Thanks for looking!
