Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  All the best to you and yours in 2019!

These are the nails I'll be wearing to ring in the new year!  Pretty fancy nails to be wearing while watching tv in my pajamas but that's OK!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of JReine Cosmetics Goldschlager.  What a stunner!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Stamped using CbL Panther Stamping Polish using image from Sugar Bubbles SBS 014.  I really like this look just by itself lol!

Sugar Bubbles SBS 014.

I decided to do some shadow stamping; did numbers using Nicole by OPI Positive Energy using images from Maniology M042.  Used image HD-B on thumb.

Shadow stamped using same images with MdU 2.

Love!  I know there's a lot happening here and it is pretty blingy especially with holo base then holo stamping polish then silver on top of the gold!  I'm glad I did the shadow stamping to make the numbers and words pop a little better.

Added KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Enjoy New Year's Eve whether you are sitting on the couch watching the ball drop like me or are out and about enjoying the festivities.  Be safe!

Lemons!

Here's the nail art portion of the lemon mani I shared with the Cuter Cuticles IEC 2018 Exclusive trio! I don't think there are too many items that you can't find in an image on a stamping plate so it was fantastic to find so many lemon images on stamping plates....and I even found more after I did these!

Started with a base of Moyra Vivid Sand 717 Sunshine over a coat of Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights with an accent of OPI Black Onyx.  I went with the sand look to try to mimic the texture of a lemon.

Stamped using images from Delaney Fruits 001 (middle and thumb), MoYou Tropical Collection-08 (index), Wistonia W118 (pinky) and Lina 4 Seasons-Summer 02 (ring) using Funky Fingers Dark Knight; MdU 11 was used on accent.

MoYou Tropical Collection-08

MoYou Tropical Collection-09  (I didn't use this plate as the images were too large for my nails but took pictures of it as I thought I was going to.)

Top coated just the accent finger to finish.

I think these could also be super cute summer nails and can see myself doing something like this in the future!  Thanks for looking!

Welcome Spring!

It's 12:15 p.m. and spring has officially arrived!  While it's far too cold here for any flowers to be blooming yet, hopefully they will be here once it gets a little warmer!  According to the forecast, it won't be warm for about three more weeks.  In the meanwhile, floral nails will have to do!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Then dry brushed with an assortment of polishes: KBShimmer In Yacht Water, KBShimmer Bahama Drama, KBShimmer Hugs and Wishes, KBShimmer Little Boy Hue, Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, The Kit Smoothie Delight and Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails Professional n18 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  I have no idea what happened to the middle finger; all I can think of is I forgot to remove the stamped image from the stamp before. Duh! I don't know what I was thinking lol!  I tried to do the brush stroking where I thought the flower would be stamped but that didn't work out all the well on all the fingers.  Maybe just the thumb lol.

Ms. Cindy didn't turn out too badly either; in fact, in some ways, I like it better, especially the thumb!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought the mani would look cool if it was matted, so after dotting flower centers to change it up a bit, added a coat of OPI matte.

I don't know about you, but I am glad spring is officially here!  I just hope it truly is the end of winter; no more snow!  I guess we'll see!

Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  This month's theme is stamping!  I do stamping all the time so that's not too much of a challenge for me; finally a theme I can do with ease!  But because it's Digit-al Dozen challenge week and I know the other ladies stamping mani's will be off the charts, I tried to pick some of my better mani's and those that are a little bit more challenging; to me anyway!  Here's what I did for day 1!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using Misslyn Lemon Green, Misslyn Head Over Heels, Butter London Keks, Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Orly Neon Heat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Creative Shop 16 using MdU 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Mythical Creatures; Day 2

Continuing with mythical creatures challenge for Digit-al Dozen week, today's mani has these cute little unicorns with bubble accents (which make no sense in how they relate to unicorns except I thought they were cute!).  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base of a bunch of brights:  KBShimmer Sarong Place Sarong Time, KBShimmer Leggo My Mango, KBShimmer In Yacht Water, Girly Bits It's Hoop To Be Square, Girly Bits Get Indie Flow and Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights.  In case you think it's a little subdued if you are familiar with all those polishes, it's because I did the first stamp on my right hand, then used the remnants of the stamp on the left for a more pastel look.

Wanted to add magical fairy dust to these unicorn nails, so added a coat of Sally Hansen Diamonds, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added images from B. Loves Plates B.00 Rainbows and Unicorns.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Digit-al Dozen Does All That Glitters; Day 3

If ever I was going to revisit Disneyland, I'd be sporting nails something like these!  Not only do I have Mickie glitter in polish, but I also have some loose Mickie glitter that I had bought at some point a few years ago too!  Thankfully, there's oodles of stamping images to pick for your nails too; I'll have to do another mani soon!  Here's what I came up with for Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen all that glitters challenge!

Started with a base of skittles using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, OPI Black Onyx, OPI Adam Said, "It's New Year's, Eve", and Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights; all two coats, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made stamper decals using images from Infinity 152.  While there are lots of Mickie and Minnie images on stamping plates, I picked out these to use because I thought they were winter related with the hats...but hoped they didn't look too Christmas-y.

Infinity 152.

Applied the stamper decals (didn't think this through very well as they should have been on the opposite fingers but oh well!), then applied a couple coats of Ellagee The Big Cheese.  Also fished out glitters and placed.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top. Note aggressive clean up on ring finger; I cut off the top corner at the cuticle.  Bummer!

Applied bow rhinestone on Minnie on middle finger.  I wanted to cover up that aggressive clean up on the ring finger, so placed a star that I had in a bag of loose glitter on the ring near the cuticle to cover it, then added a few more stars to balance and for filler/interest. Did another coat of KBShimmer to finish.  Loose glitter goes well with the challenge as well!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's!

Digit-al Dozen Does All That Glitters; Day 1

One of the things that I love about being part of the Digit-al Dozen is that the challenges pull me out of my comfort zone time after time.  So many different styles that I have never tried before but was 'forced' to for a DD challenge.  Which brings me to this month's challenge, all that glitters.  I think a few of you will agree that for the most part, indie polish makers aren't really doing glitter polishes now.  There are a few and some are still doing micro glitters and crellies with glitter, but not nearly like back in the day like maybe 5ish years ago. Well, 'back in the day', I bought a lot of those glitters but for one reason or another, they have taken a backseat to other new fandagled polishes like flakies, all the holo's etc so I just haven't been wearing glitters that often.  This months challenge had me shopping my stash and I discovered I have some really cool glitters that haven't seen the light of day for some time...or if at all. Hopefully I will remember to bring out more glitters even after the challenge is over as I had a lot of fun doing some of these and was really happy how they turned out!  Here's what I came up with for day 1!

Started with a base of two coats each of OPI Black Onyx and Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights.

Added a couple coats of Elevation Polish Huangshan on accent nails, as well as fished out extra glitters and placed as needed.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails Professional n.3 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Marianne Nails Professional n.3

Ms. Cindy didn't get any glitter because it just takes too long to remove it and I didn't use a peel off base but I used the same colours and stamp and really liked how it turned out too!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 1 glitter mani's including our new members!  Please make sure to check them all out!
