Spirals!

I've been trying not to post blue or floral nails and looks like I'm going to fail with that personal challenge!  But I think these have enough colour and interest in the stamped image that I can forgive myself lol!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Duomo Days, Isola Nights (not shown), then topped with Nvr Enuff Polish Alchemy, no top coat.  I'm not sure what happened to Nv Enuff Polish but they certainly had a lot of pretty polishes and I'm happy to have them in my stash!

Topped with Fancy Gloss Crushed Sapphire, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a stamped gradient using MdU 91, Mdu 39 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate, using image from Big SdP A-2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Just before taking it off, I added a coat of Essie Matte About You and I have to say, I really like how all the flakies pop with matte.  I wish I had have worn it for another day matte, but too much polish and plates and the urge to change my nails!

Happy 75th Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's 75th birthday, and it happens to have been the birthday of his favourite singer, Elvis, so I thought I'd do this Elvis themed mani in his honour!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  I had Nvr Enuff Afterglow sitting on my desk from a prior mani and decided to top the thumb nail with it for a little added glam and interest, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

MdU Elvis.

Stamped using MdU Elvis (main thumb image, shrunken, pinky, ring and middle),
and Delaney Musique 001 (index and notes on thumb), using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

After applying a thin coat of Apipilia no smear topcoat, topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 4

I've been at a total loss for this weeks fashion nails.  I'm not terribly into fashion (wear what I want, don't care if it's fashionable, sticking with mainly classics and neutrals), so haven't found anything much that interests me when googling or searching on Pinterest.  Let's just say, its been taking me longer to find something to use as inspiration than it takes to do my nails!  Anyway, I found something last night when googling purple fashion and came up with these for Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen REDOES fashion!

Here is my fashion inspiration; photo credit Favim.  Doesn't look like the stamping polish matched that well but it is closer IRL.

Started with a base of two coats of Nvr Enuff Unicorn Flower (Flower!  How appropriate!), shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using images from Delaney Rectangles A001 (middle) and BP L-024 (rest) using MdU 54 (Iris).

Under The Sea

Here's a mani that I had originally done for Digit-al Dozen Gradient week so as to not post only pink and/or purple nails.  But when Laurie at Dressed Up Digits did this fabulous under the sea mani, I didn't want to post one too during the same week, so chose to go with the posts I had already uploaded and decided to share this afterwards.  Not that it really mattered; there are occasionally times that the ladies in the group have similar manis or the same theme for challenges and its all good; it was just my personal choice to wait and I had lots of other challenge appropriate mani's to share anyway!

Started with a base of Nvr Enuff Proto; this is two coats, no topcoat, except middle which I nicked during cleanup and it has a third coat to cover.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

As I was doing this mani for the DD gradient theme, did a stamped gradient using MoYou Beach House, MdU 3 and MdU 30 using an image from Sugar Bubbles SB 038.  I didn't stamp the accent as the plan was to paint round nail studs in the same three colours then put them on the accent.  But anyone who has ever painted nail studs knows how finicky this is; when I went to pick them up to adhere, they weren't dry and it went downhill from there, so I just abandoned the idea. (I still like the idea of painting nail studs to match your mani polish but still need to come up with a way to do this easily.  If anyone has any ideas, please share!)

So stamped the accent nail as well using same polishes and design.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.  And I did think this was the end of the mani until I thought.....hmmm, this might be a good base for some double stamping and as this is water, some fish might be the way to go.

So using an image from Chez Delaney Marin A001 and Funky Fingers Gesso, added some under water interest.  I originally tried to stamp with a clear stamper to try to added more fish here and there but no clear stamper would cooperate, so ended up using traditional one.

Finished it off with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I've been super busy at work this week; I think I've already worked more hours than in a typical work week and am typing this post before heading into work Friday morning.....so haven't done my 40 Great Nail Art Idea challenge nails yet but hopefully will get a chance to do them soon.

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Gradient - Day 5

It's Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen gradient week challenge!  All of my mani's all week have been pink or purple or pink and purple and today, I have good reason for wearing them both again as this Day 5 mani is doing double duty for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas as this weeks theme for it is pink and purple; I had added prompt of reciprocal gradient.  Here's what I came up with!

My very first task was to see what pink and purple polishes and stamping polishes were a match or pretty close anyway for the reciprocal part of the challenge as I knew I wouldn't be doing a reciprocal gradient with striping tape.  So I picked out a few pinks and purples and went from there.  This actually was one of the longest processes for this mani.

For the pink, I went with Nvr Enuff Pink Sprinkles; this is two coats, no top coat shown below.  It was an added bonus that there was some purple shimmer in there!

Did a sponged gradient using piCture pOlish Wisteria.  In hindsight when I was done, I wish I had have sponged about half the nail as it would have evened out the reciprocal gradient a little bit more, but didn't think of it at the time.

Added coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

For the reciprocal gradient, using an MdU 16 and MoYou Pink! which matched the base polishes pretty good.  The images are from MoYou Holy Shapes Collection-07 on all fingers except the larger image from MoYou Holy Shapes Collection-08 was used on the thumb.  The stamper was the DRK XL which helped with lining up pretty good and because its not overly squishy, the lines stamped pretty straight except on the index and its only visible in the close up so overall, happy with how these lines stamped on.

Finished with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 5 manis!

Hopefully you've enjoyed all these gradients!  Right now, it's one of my favourite type of bases for stamping as it adds a little base interest so I have quite a few more done and will be sharing at some time!

Nvr Enuff Polish Prototype and EdM 13

Not too long ago, I received an order of Nvr Enuff polishes including a few mysteries. One that immediately caught my eye was this intense royal blue with flashes of shimmer and maybe even a little hint of glitter or flakie.  This bright blue was the perfect base on a night when I wanted to do a polish change but didn't have a lot of time to do them (aka, most nights).  Still love that stampers can come up with something this cool in no time flat! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Nvr Enuff Prototype; shown with no top coat. This is one one of those polishes that you wonder if it is going to leave you with smurf nails or stain your skin but there were no issues.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD before stamping.

Picked this image from Emily de Molly 13.  I thought that it would provide lots of stamping interest yet leave enough voids to see the beauty of the base polish underneath.  Used Funky Fingers Gesso as the stamping polish, intentionally doing each finger just a little bit different for some added interest.

This is the thumb from my right hand which shows moreso how the image would look if you stamped the image in a more "traditional" way.  Which would be great if all my nails are this long but they aren't.  I do however, like the mixed up look of them that I did end up with, but just thought I would share this for matter of interest!

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

While I purchased this plate, I was fortunate enough to review several others for Emily de Molly.  Just a reminder that Emily de Molly stamping plates and vinyls can be purchased via their store here with international shipping from Australia. There is also a US Emily de Molly estore here that also ships plates and polishes to US and Canada. Emily de Molly products are also available via these stock lists with many offering international shipping!
