Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns; Day 4

This is a pretty simple mani that throws a pretty good punch when it's done if I don't say so myself!  Unfortunately, life is so busy that I don't have much time to do really detailed, time consuming mani's but I still like to change my nails daily or close to it so simple is the order of the day most of the time!  It has a pretty cool pattern though and it's my Day 4 mani for Digit-al Dozen pattern week!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty Serious Comfy Y-Fronts.  This is a pretty colour but I don't get the name at all.  Maybe someone can enlighten me?

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using image from MJ XLVI.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

I'm going to be busy all weekend at Indie Expo Canada 2019 so please check out my Instagram for updates.  This also means I probablyyyy won't get my day 5 mani posted until Monday.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Pretty Serious Elliott

I love these circular dots on Infinity 106!  It is one of those perfect stamping images to me; cool that it's an interesting image but lets the base polish shine through!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty Serious Elliott.  *Swoon*  It's no secret that I love blues and this is a favourite for sure!  I love the brightness of it and that shimmer just takes it to the next level for me!

Topped with a coat of CbL PDQ TC.

Stamped with Infinity 106 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Added a couple metal studs on accent.

Topped with CbL PDQ to finish.  Unfortunately, I had major smear here.  I wasn't that familiar with the CbL PDQ TC as hadn't used a whole lot; I'm guessing I didn't have enough on the brush to glide it over the image and then had polish drag which was probably my application error.

Digit-al Dozen Does Childhood; Day 3

A Sunday night staple at our house when I was a kid was watching the Disney movie of the week at 6 pm. You have to keep in mind that I lived in small town Ontario growing up; we only had a hand full of tv channels and there was no movie theatre without driving almost an hour, no VCR's, DVD's, netflix (heck, no one had a computer or cell phone then!), satellite dishes or cable service (in our area anyway). What few channels you got was from an antenna and rotor that you dialed to pick up what you could and if you were really lucky, the station wasn't snowy. (Maybe this is why we spent so much time outdoors playing as kids?) I think maybe satellite dishes were on the market when I was a teen if I think about it; those huge monstrosities the size of vehicles sitting in the back yard of a few homes (aka, you were rich!). Anyway, the Disney movies on Sunday night were never missed; they were watched after the special Sunday dinner of roast, then a bath before watching the movie which was the close to the weekend before school the next day.  I remember it is The Wonderful World of Disney; which is what today's Digit-al Dozen Day 3 mani is based upon.  Here's what I came up with.

For the base, I decided to use a recently purchased bottle of Pretty Serious Eye of Copernicus; then thought at the same time, I would see how close it is to Essie Starry Starry Night and Colors by llarowe Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

Bottle pix; left to right:  Essie Starry Starry Night, middle is Pretty Serious Eye of Copernicus and ring is Colors by llarowe Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.  They look pretty close to one another in the bottle.

For swatching, this is one coat of each polish; index is Essie Starry Starry Night, middle is Pretty Serious Eye of Copernicus and ring is Colors by llarowe Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Two coats, same order.  It is clear to me that the other two polishes aren't dupes to Essie SSN if this was the makers intent; in fact, they are closer to each other than Essie SSN. Both are too dark and blackened to be dupes IMHO.

Different angle just in case lighting is different to throw swatches, but nope.

For the purposes of doing my nails, I did the rest of the fingers in Colors by llarowe Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star as preferred it over the Pretty Serious.  I actually preferred Essie SSN but need to conserve it lol!

Top coated all with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Mundo de Unas 11 using Big SdP D (stars) with accent using Big SdP Y.

Dandelion Fluff!

My cuticles appear to be on the mend since my peel episode from last week...now, just have a little hangnail which hopefully will heal up in a few days. I cut down my nails quite a bit over the weekend too because they seem to go all wonky when they reach a certain point, and even though I've read Loodie Loodie's care tips and tricks for wonky nails several times, I can't seem to correct mine enough once they reach that wonky lenghth, so cut them down.  I embrace short nails...it's the time I can use all those nail stamping images that are too small when my nails are longer.  I also like to do funky frenches with my shorter nails so don't mind the shorter length at all!

For this mani, started with a base of two coats of Pretty Serious Viscious Vampire, no topcoat.

Stamped using MoYou Pro-09 (middle), Pro-06 XL (thumb, ring and pinky) and Pro-04 (index) using white Konad special polish.

Topped with SV to finish.

Here's a look at a couple of the plates used.

Is it weird if I post pix of dandelion fluff I took last summer? I tried so hard to get a pix that looked like a perfect globe and didn't have any fluff missing as well as get it centered, etc.  So pretty for a weed!
