Santa's Getting Ready at the North Pole!

Christmas is just a few short days away; here are Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves getting ready for the big day at the North Pole!

For some reason, I can't find any notes on this; I'm surmising they got deleted by accident at some point during the year as it's from last year but didn't have time to post it.  So I'll try to mention items if I recognize them. Started with a base of Sinful Cool Gray; probably two coats, no topcoat.

Sponged on white and blue for background interest.

I had premade a few stamping decals.....

....using images from Cheeky Jumbo 6 Happy Holidays (index and pinky), MJXVIII (ring), QA19 (thumb).  I think the Santa is a SdP plate but will have to double check. No idea what polishes were used.

I wasn't sure I'd have space for the North Pole sign but decided to add it to the index; the image is from MoYou Festive Collection-01.

Added a few random seasonal dots and top coated to finish (not sure if this pix is before or after topcoat though!)

Top coated to finish.

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen, Animal Week; Day 3

Another mani for Animal Week; this is life on the farm.  I've had this as an idea for a while now and am so glad that I was able to finally use it for animal theme week!

Started with a base of two coats of Petite Color Fever Creme Blue; topped with SV.

After sponging the index finger with white polish, stamped the farm scene.  Plates used were MW62 (pig and horse), SdP 95 (chickens), Dash 6 (cow) and QA 19 (house).  Stamping polishes were black Konad special polish and FUN stamping polishes in Cotton Candy and Mango Shake.

Stamped in a few more images.  The plates used were SdP 12 (sun), CH36 (clouds near house), Konad m79 (rest of the clouds), SdP 71 (butterflies above cow) and Konad m83 (bird above horse).  Royal purple and white stamping polishes were used for the white and purple stamping.

Using green and apple green Konad special polishes, added grass to three fingers using a dotter.

Dotted in some dirt to the pig and chicken fingers.  (lol...chicken fingers!)  It was suppose to mimic dirt; while I don't mind it on the pinky, the dotting didn't translate well on the thumb.  I took a sponge and pressed it a bit to make smudges but that didn't really work that well either.  I also took a brush and added in a little tall grass on the horse and cow fingers.

Topped with SV.

Here's the other Day 3 Animal Week mani's from the rest of the Digital Dozen.

Thanks for looking!

Santa Claus the Night Before Christmas

It's the night before Christmas; Santa Claus is at the North Pole getting ready to deliver all the gifts all over the world!  Here he is before leaving for a busy night!

DSC05933-2

Started with a base of OPI Bride's Bouquet, two coats then sponged a gradient using NYX Girls Dark Gray and FingerPaints Black Expressionism.

DSC05922-2

Stamped using QA 19 (house), W220 (Santa), D01 (sleigh) and HD05 (reindeer); then hand painted in North Pole on pinky.

DSC05926-2

Added some snow using XL B.

DSC05928-2

Touched up the dots with a dotter.

Added SV.

For those who have followed my blog since last year, you may have already seen this, but for those who
have not, I thought I'd rerun Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Twas the night before Christmas,

when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.

He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

From my family to yours, have a Merry Christmas!

Digit-al Dozen: Festiveness!

It was a thrill to be asked to join the Digit-al Dozen for their monthly challenges and this is my first time participating...unfortunately, I failed because the group does five consecutive daily posts starting yesterday; and for a variety of reasons, I wasn't able to post.  So I'm joining up with the group today and I'll be sharing four out of five days this month!

Here's the mani I came up with!

DSC05830-2

Started with a base of two coats of China Glaze Adventure Red-y and Ulta Green and Wear it, topped with SV.

DSC05817-2

Stamped using Konad white special polish using an assortment of image plates (Apipila 05-angel on middle finger, W232-wreath on index; SdP 56-bells on thumb, fauxnad E03-holly on thumb, QA19-small bells on index and random snowflakes and Nailways- ornaments on pinky, gingerbread man and tree on index, candle on thumb).

DSC05822-2

Added a few random dots using yellow Konad special polish for a splash of colour.

DSC05828-2

Topped with SV.

DSC05833-2

A few of the other ladies in the group have the inlinkz posted at the bottom of their posts but I haven't figure it out yet (hopefully I will for tomorrows post! lol) but I do urge you to check out their posts which should all join up at the link!   There's a lot of awesomeness in these.....the creativity is phenomenal!

I've Got the Blues...

...on my nails, that is!

China Glaze Bahamian Escape was one of the polishes my DD used last weekend when she did her nails....as I was putting it away, I thought why not do a mani in it too? This is what I came up with!

Two coats of Bahamian Escape.

Topped with one fairly thick coat of Island Girl Island Volcano. Island Girl polishes aren't available in my area but I was fortunate enough to receive a few of them from a gal who had visited Las Vegas, who cp'd them for me as part of a swap we worked out. I was really surprised how thick and goopy Island Volcano was...is this normal? I had to add quite a bit of thinner just to make it workable to put on my nails.

But I must have thought the end result was very cool as I took an awful lot of pictures of it!

Stamped with an assortment of plates using white Konad special polish...QA 17 on thumb, QA18 on index, Konad m79 on middle , Konad M79 on pinky and Big SdP F on ring finger.

Added dots in every colour under the rainbow using an assortment of polishes! Lastly, topped with a coat of SV.

When I finished this mani, I thought it looked more appropriate for spring or Easter, but oh well...I can always do something along these lines again if I feel like it then! While I did this mani a few days ago, my current NOTD is also blue...so I guess you'll be seeing another blue mani posted in the next little while!

Hope you had a great weekend...and thanks for looking!
