GlamNailsChallenge; Bees!

I'm late again for the #glamnailschallenge posting on June 16th which was bees!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a textured base of OPI Emotions with accents of OPI Hate To Burst Your Bubble, both two coats, no top coat.

Stamped using images from BM-422 (pinky and index) using MdU 11 and Messy Mansion MM18 on the rest using MdU 2.  I didn't top coat these nails as its kind of pointless using liquid sands if you do but I do wish I had have because some of the stamping rubbed off the next day before I took them off!

Hope you're having a great day and thanks for looking!

Boo!!

Boo!

It's scary to think Halloween is tomorrow and I've only posted a couple Halloween mani's!  I finally got my computer situation sorted out to do some posts; now if only I had more time to do some posts!  I hope to post today and tomorrow and, well, the rest of the mani's I did will have to hold over until next year! Hopefully I'll do better next year!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with three coats of China Glaze Shadies & Gentlemen, no top coat.  I was in love when I seen swatches of the polish; I loved the super matte look of it and was so excited when I found it!  That was until I applied it; what a PITA streaky mess and way more finicky than I like in a bottle of polish.  I was even thinking I needed a back up but I think myself I will stick to regular black with a good couple coats of matte to get same effect.  I seem to recall that it was best to apply directly on the nail but that goes against my need to apply a base coat grain of thinking even if it gets best application results.

Stamped using MoYou Festive 16 using MdU 1 with an accent of Lina Make Your Mark 08.

You know my love of busy and my love of adding dots when I can so added dots using MdU 107 for filler and burst of colour.

I wasn't sure if I like it better glossy with top coat or matte so added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  (Also had to top coat to seal the polish so I wouldn't have any flaking off.)

But ultimately I liked the matte look best so added a coat of matte which is how I wore it out and about!

Digit-al Dozen Does Paper; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; this month's theme is paper...which was hard, as normal!  This is what I came up with for Day 1...handwriting.  (I've taken some creative liberty here as you can see, but it suppose to be writing on paper!)

Started with a base of two coats of Colors by llarowe Can We Have Trudeau?, no top coat.  This was one of several cbl LE's available at the Indie Expo Canada that I attended a little over a week ago...a post will be coming soon!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Creative Shop 27 using Funky Fingers white...except on the thumb; I made a stamper decal and filled in the flower with Hit the Bottle As Good as Gold.

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainforest; Day 5

Again late with day 5 rainforest challenge nails for Digit-al Dozen week; I did these nails that are inspired by the poison dart frog but in true Canadian Nail Fanatic form, are super busy so hopefully you can make out the little frogs!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Onyx.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Delaney Reptiles et Batracients using Mdu 54.  I love that this colour is so vivid over black!

Added a few random dots for colour, filler and interest using MdU 11 and 38, then top coated with KBShimmer to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainforest; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  This month's theme is rainforest which wasn't as hard as past challenges thankfully! Here's what I came up with for day 1!

In my head, I wanted to be all matchy-matchy, so started with a base of two coats of OPI Onyx, with an accent of one coat MdU 80.  Yes, it's a stamping polish but I wanted a bright green to stamp on the black that would show up nicely and because I wanted everything to match, it had to be used as a base.  (No, it didn't stain my nails, surprisingly either!)

The Mdu was fairly thick so waited about 5-7 minutes before top coating but Mdu and KBShimmer Clearly on Top did not like one another still.

I did the shrink stamper method for the accent of Chez Animaux A001 but it still was on the big side for my nails (and I didn't place it that well).  Stamped other fingers with Chez Floral 004 using same MdU 80.

I didn't mind this look but hey, it's Digit-al Dozen week so need to kick it up a notch!  Added a very light coat of ILNP Success on all fingers but accent which gave a really cool look, even though it might not be obvious in these pictures.

Digit-al Dozen Does Black; Day 4

If you've been checking out the Digit-al Dozen posts (and hopefully you have been!), you will have seen some pretty amazing mani's using black!  I think I've used more colour in my mani's than most and have been super surprised with what they have come up with using mainly just black.  Yes, there has been some colour added here and there but there has also been some great mani's using just black or shades of black or mainly black.  Kudos to all the ladies!  I did these nails Monday night and tried to use just black...and still couldn't do it!  But no bright colours anyway; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Black Onyx, no top coat.  This actually isn't what I had intended; I wanted to do a grey accent nail and then have black stamping on top of it to change it up a little but I was concentrating so hard on applying the black to avoid cleanup and flooding that I painted my accent nail before I knew it!  Well, that and singing along to some awesome music at the time but I got distracted!  I just decided to go with it anyway!  But it kinda ticked me off because I took so long searching my stash for the perfectly matching polish to match the stamping polish!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 34 using an image from Marianne Nails n.100.  Roses because, hey, it's Valentine's week even if we have a theme of black!

I did my test hand the right way...or at least what I had planned out anyway so decided to polish over the accent nail anyway using Barry M Grey, then stamped using same image using FunkyFingers Dark Knight, then topped with top coat.  I think the little change up just gives it a little added interest...for a many that is pretty boring otherwise lol!  And see, the base polish matches the stamping polish so well which is what I had planned!  I love when this happens!

Digit-al Dozen Does Black; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!!!  I have no idea how we decided upon the theme of black on the week that Valentine's Day falls on, but we did!  So I tried to do a mainly black mani, keeping in mind that Valentine's day is tomorrow!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Black Onyx.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MJ JR-1 with an accent of BM-412 using a gradient of MdU 20, Moyra SP19 and Funky Fingers Gesso.

NEW Crumpets Nail Art Challenge; Black Base

This weeks challenge is black base which worked out well as I've been really wanting to try the image on a new plate that I got recently; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of one coat of FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

I had received group buy order of CICI & SISI plates; the first image that caught me eye was this one on CICI & SISI Spring 03; stamped using MdU 11.  Added image to accent nail using an image from Kelly Negri KN 2.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to add a nail stud to the accent nail.  I thought about dotting the rest of the flowers but decided to leave them as they are.
