Spring!

Spring is in full swing here; the robins have been out and about, the weather is warmer, the sun is shining and my perennials are starting to peak up through the soil.  Time to do a little gardening to get beds ready and rake the leaves off the lawn that didn't get done last year! So I thought I'd share some spring nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a sponged gradient of Color Club polishes:  Factory Girl, Seas the Day and an unlabeled one (sorry! that was one problem with those 7 packs from Winners; some came unlabeled!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made stamper decals using Lesly Flowerbed 2 (thumb), Lesly Flowerbed 1 (ring, index and pinky) and Moyra 24 Primavera using too many polishes to name and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief stamping polish, then applied them.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added words using image from Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 01 on middle finger using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  I tried a few times to shadow stamp it with black but it just wasn't showing up well enough on the stamper so left it as shown.  Then finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Hope you're having a fabulous day; thanks for looking!

Layering, Gradients, Flakies and Dots --Oh My!

These nails have a whole lot going on!  Accent nails, layering, flakies, stamped gradients, three different polishes, three different stamping polishes, two different plates, a mix of newer indie polish, newer drug store brand and 'vintage' polish......sometimes it's not so obvious how much goes into doing nail art!  But I think they turned out pretty cool despite so much going on!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Maybelline Express Finish Exu-blue-rant with accent of Essie Expressie Air Dry.  Essie is just out and the Maybelline is probably on the 'vintage' side as far as polishes go.

Topped the navy nails with Fancy Gloss Rainbow Moonstone, a current indie polish - layering and flakies.  The gray were topped with Fancy Gloss Fire & Ice.  Those accent nails are drool worthy!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a stamped gradient on the accent nails using UC 1-03 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, Deux 2.0 and Stamped in Taro.

Stamped the rest of the nails using same stamping polishes, with an image from Creative Shop 171.

More Snow Means I Can Share Another Snowflake Mani!

We got an inch or so of snow yesterday that will probably be melted by the time this gets posted but it at least gives me a reason to share yet another snowflake mani that I did this winter!  I still didn't get them all shared but I'm sure they'll make an appearance at some point.  Maybe the hottest day of the summer when we wish for cooler temperatures, who knows!  Anyway, this was my very favourite snowflake mani that I did this year so wanted to at least get it shared!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Notorious RBG, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails Professional n.31 using Painted Polish Deux 2.0.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Double stamped using images from B. Loves B.05 Let It Snow, Konad Square 29 and Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Blue Skittles

When you don't know what you wear on your nails, you just pick a bunch of polishes and hope for the best!  That's what this skittle mani is; I couldn't pick which blue to wear on my nails and while I initially was going for a skittle gradient, these polishes aren't quite a gradient.  What I did find out though, was most of these I hadn't worn before and now that I have, I discovered I really liked a couple of them!  Sometimes, picking the polishes are as random as this!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Too Fancy skittles; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  Royal Jeans, Set Fire to the Rain, Bejeweled, Moody Blue and Lake Como, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Lina Make Your Mark 08 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Teal Tone on Tone

I've been sporting a lot of seasonal and themed nails lately so when I sat down to do my nails not so long ago, I needed a take a little breather.  Something simple but classic and there's not much more classic than some tone on tone nails, which is what I did.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats Painted Polish Mermaid Masquerade plus a thin coat again at the tips as it didn't seem to be covering them despite wrapping the tips.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Fab Ur Nails FUN 22 using MdU 78.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Note, I don't usually edit pictures (as I'm sure you can tell!) but I did edit out the ouchie on my middle finger as no one needs to see that!

Marble!

This was a quick and easy mani that I did a few months ago.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of Bees Knees Ebirah, no top coat.  Love, love, love this polish!

Just one more!  Love!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Moyra 27-Dreamology using Hit the Bottle Magna Opus (PPU September 2019).

Dots!

You'll have to take my word that this mani looked cooler IRL than in person!  In fact, I wore it for a few days, I liked it so much!  Don't get me wrong, the mani pix look nice enough, it's just when I look at the pictures, the colours don't seem to go that well together but they seemed more coherent IRL than these pictures portray.  What do you think?

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Clockwork Castle (Black Friday 2019), no topcoat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.   Love this colour; love this polish!  But if I'm being honest, it's one of those shades that is hard to stamp on as there's not a whole lot of colours go with it.  Well, other than the obvious white.  But I feel I stamp so much in white, I do try to stamp with a colour or colours if I can.  To stamp with a purple, it has to be just the right shade or its off.  Hopefully you know what I mean.  Like a light lavender won't work.  But just look at this polish!  Love!!  Sometimes I shake my head and wonder, what took you so long to wear it!

Finally decided on a a gradient of colours; MdU 1, 5 and 8 using an image from Marianne Nails n.02.

Bright Blue with Zigzags

This was a quick and easy mani I did a few days ago when I wanted to change my nails but didn't have a whole lot of time to do them.  But some of the most effective nails are often quick and easy as the case with this mani, I think.  The right polish paired with the right image can be just as effective as the mani that you spend two hours working on!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Tile Art to Warm Your Heart, no top coat.  Love this vibrant blue!

Snowflakes!

I've been doing a lot of snowflake mani's; so many plates that have so many different flake images so I've been trying to use as many as I can including some that I've had a while but hadn't peeled the plastic off of yet!  Here's one that I came up with not too long ago!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Walker, no top coat.

Topped with a light coat of Polished for Days Pixie Dust.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 with accent nails of Messy Mansion MM55.

I have to admit; I haven't been a real fan of negative space images; I've done a few but not my preferred images for stamping, mainly as I think too much of the base colour is covered with stamping polish.  But I do have to admit, since I've done a few for the Digit-al Dozen space challenge (negative space, get it??!!), I've been reaching for them a bit more lately!  With the right image, the base can be highlighted as I think is the case with these two accent nails.
