Ombre Roses using UberChic Plate

I did this mani with the hope of sharing before Valentine's Day but that didn't happen unfortunately!  None the less, I think it's pretty enough to wear for anytime so I'm sharing it now!

Started with a base of ombre skittles; colours starting at the thumb and going clockwise are CND Raspberry Parfait, CND Sweet, CND Girlie Pink, Essie Romper Room and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; all two coats, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using UberChic 1-02.

A closer look at UberChic 1-02.

For the other hand, I did white stamping using Funky Fingers Gesso.  On the pinky which had the white base, I triple stamped using the single rose image from the same plate, using three of the CND base polishes.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I was lucky enough to have an online friend pick up the plates and mail to me but UberChic does ship internationally.  Their site is here!

Thanks for looking!

Autism Awareness Day Mani

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. This is the mani I came up with to support awareness for a cause that is near and dear to my heart.

Base polishes used starting from thumb are Essie Borrowed & Blue, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, OPI No Room for the Blues, Nubar Boyfriend Jeans and Nubar Dark Wash Jeans.  All two coats except No Room for the Blues which was three.

Image plates used are Big SdP F (thumb), Big SdP L (index), XL A (middle), Big SdP F (ring) and XL A (pinky) using an assortment of Konad special stamping polishes except pinky which was Sally Hansen Instadri Blue-Away as I was less than thrilled with the stamping on the ring finger.  I hoped that when I topped the stamping polish was SV that it would even it out a bit, but it never.

I've had this idea of a mani in mind for a while and had hoped that the new Lilic plate I ordered a couple weeks ago would have arrived to I could include the puzzle pieces on it as then I'd have five different images for all five fingers...but I guess its still in transit!

Hope you had a great weekend...thanks for looking!

V-Day Mani Using Cheeky Plates

Just a quick mani I came up with so I could try out a couple of the polishes from the OPI Holland Collex as well as the Cheeky plates.

Not your typical Valentine's Day mani! lol! Certainly not a typical mani that I would do either! Base polishes used starting at thumb were Maybelline Zip Fly, Essence Vampire Love Into the Dark, OPI I Have A Herring Problem, OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam!, and Orly Pixie Dust; all two coats.

Where's all the pretty silver sparkle in Zip Fly? Don't hardly see any on my nails! I think it all stuck to the side of the bottle!

Plates used were CH15 (thumb), CH15 (ring finger), CH29 (adorable couple on index), CH27 (kiss word on index), CH3 (heart on middle), CH16 (heart on index beside kiss) and then Big SdP B on pinky, stamped using Konad white special polish.

A couple pix of the Cheeky plates:

For comparison sake, Cheeky (bottom left) against BM (bottom right) against SdP image (upper design; grapes and leaves); while I haven't measured them, I eyeballed the images and I'd say the full size image is pretty close width wise to the second series of the BundleMonster plates, but not quite the same height, and not even close when compared to SdP, H, A or T series which are larger.

Not the smallest size of images I've seen, but I do wish they were larger like the A, T, H or SdP series. The plates have a paper backing...and are fairly thin and flexible...more than any other plates that I can recall. I'm only guessing this would be a problem if you didn't store them flat. Blue plastic protective covering comes off easily too! Always a plate plus!

I checked on Amazon and these plates are still sold out; if I do hear that they are available again, I'll post the link. Cheeky only ship within USA, which may pose a problem for international gals unless you're like me and willing to drive a distance to pick them up...or have a kind USA gal ship them to you!

Thanks for looking!

Edit: FYI, I've emailed Cheeky to see if/when they will be reselling these plates as I know there is some interest. I've also asked them to consider international shipping for all those stampers outside of USA...or those Canucks who can't drive to US (still can't believe I did that!!)! I'll update once I've heard back!

Edit: Cheeky did reply to my email. They indicated that they should be back in stock in approximatley one month. They will be available through Amazon US, UK, and DE; but unfortunately not Canada.

Happy Birthday (to Me)!! Plus New Plate Previews!!!!

Another year has passed; 29.....again...! Or based on my mani, 18! This is my HB mani.

Very girly, girl teenage-type of mani...probably more suited to my DD but oh well. I feel 18 at heart...except I wish I had the energy of an 18 year old!

Here's mani in progress. I thought I'd try my first (I think!) ombre mani.

Starting at thumb, left to right: OPI Mod About You, OPI Pink-ing of You, Zoya Jolene, OPI Don't Know...Beets Me, and OPI Your a Pisa Work. All are two coats except Pink-ing of You, which was three.

Then stamped using Konad special polish in black. Used IP's SdP D-08, SdP C-12, SdP B-20, SdP C-18, SdP C-06 and Konad m71.

Then added a few random dots in the colours used as the base coat, and a few black using Konad black special polish. (These special polishes work great for dotting as they are really pigmented but they do dry fairly fast so you have to be quick!).

And my new plates arrived! Let's just say I'm more excited about getting new image plates than the fact that today is my birthday!!! They arrived a couple days ago, just in time to be considered a present. At least, that's the story I told my husband, and I'm sticking to it! And thanks dear, for the 3 new fall Chanels...Peridot (very birthday appropriate!), Graphite and Quartz, ahem!

Anyway, as soon as I got my new SdP IP's, I did a bit of swatching...here's some pix if you want to have a look! You may wish to click to enlarge to see more of the details. I cannot wait to do some stamping with these!

What birthday would be complete without presents? My next post will announce my latest giveaway!
