Pink Smooshy Floral

It looks all nice and warm outside today but it is still chilly!  Hopefully spring will arrive soon!  If only the weather was as hot as these nails!  lol.  Here's to wishing for some warmer weather soon!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using Nubar Amazon Coral, Strawberry, Caribbean Coral and FunkyFingers Gesso.  I just was thinking over the weekend that smooshy stamper method is probably one of my favourite ways to create a base for nail art.  You get some interesting base designs for not much effort.  Except cleanup!  I guess it is the next best thing for those who can't water marble (like me!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Konad The Most Popular Pattern with floral accents using Marianne Nails XXL 7 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I did Ms. Cindy just a little different; still like how she turned out though!

Digit-al Dozen Does Books; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  Our theme this month is books!  The book lover in me loves the theme but try as I might, I had a hard time coming up with mani's related to books.  But the great thing about the group is that we can each do our own interpretation of the theme which really gives us some unique manis for the challenges!  Anyway, this is my day 1 mani for book week!

I had made the stamper decals for the mani in advance and wanted a colour that would go nicely with them.  Decided on brights; this is two coats of KBShimmer Lei It Again, no top coat.  I am loving this colour; what a nice pick me up!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using the same KB and CND Raspberry Parfait.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Unfortunately, the gradient was lost in most of the stamping, but I love how this turned out and will keep it in mind for a future mani.

After a coat of sticky base, applied the stamper decals that I had made.  Used images from MJ JR-2 and MdU 3, 52 and 66.

Shadow stamped the thumb and the letters above the book on the pinky using image from Marianne Nails n.132.  All images on the index are from MJ JR-2 as are the I Heart on the ring finger.  Unfortunately, the books from the MJ JR-2 (as seen on the index) was far too large to fit and even with the smaller letters from Nailways Back to Basics ABC 123 which I ended up using, still didn't fit that well but I tried.  Hopefully you get it anyway!

Bright Nails!

I love wearing bright nails and wore these in the fall when the weather was overcast after wearing a string of more muted shades.  I loved how they turned out and they certainly brighten my day!

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits Hot Stuff, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails XXL 8 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I love bright nails and these were exactly what I was going for when I sat down and did them!

Alter Ego Gentle Benevolent

Alter Ego Body Care Products had an Indie Expo Canada 2018 exclusive polish that had me all grabby hands for; this is Alter Ego Gentle Benevolent!

I used this polish a little differently trying to think outside of the box and share something different so used it as a topper versus applied it to opaque, here is the final mani!

Started with a base of two coats of LA Girls Matte Sky Bloom, no top coat.

Added two very thin coats of Alter Ego Gentle Benevolent which has this awesome magenta glitter plus blue shimmer in a sheer fuchsia base.  Unfortunately, this was an IEC 2018 event exclusive so if you didn't pick it up at the show, it's only available in a destash, sorry.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Kelly Negri KN 27 using FunkyFingers Guesso.

Added dots to the flower centers using MdU 26.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Those Who Can't Water Marble, Stamp!

I love the look of water marbled nails; I see the awesome water marbling and have bought all the polishes that are suppose to yield good results, I've tried tap water same temperature as polishes, distilled water same room temperatures as polishes and watched countless youtube videos but still can't seem to grasp it!  My very first attempt was somewhat successful and every attempt after wards has been a fail.  I do hope to one day sit down and see if I can get better results but in the meanwhile, I thought these stamped nails imitating water marbling turned out pretty darn good if I don't say so myself!   I'll stick to stamping until I can water marble better! Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Fiendish Fancies The White F.17-03, no top coat.  As soon as I seen this at Indie Expo Canada I said to Laura, the owner of Fiendish Fancies, that this will be the perfect base for nail art and it was one of my very first mani's after IEC 2018! All nails have the same number of coats and as you can see in the middle and ring, they are opaque but I'm surmising the way the light hit the index and pinky, they don't seem as opaque.  What I love about this polish is the hint of white shimmer and the silver holo glitter that combined with the sheer consistency of it make it so pretty!  It's too bad my pictures don't pick it up better.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Did a stamped gradient using Moyra SP 19, MoYou Pink! and Moyra SP 01 with an image from Kelly Negri KN17.  I was happy that all three colours gradiented well even on my shorties!  This is why I still do my nails even though they are short!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hopefully soon you'll see some successful water marbling mani's, in the meanwhile, I will stamp on!

Bright Floral Nails!

Another mani appropriate for spring!  Heck, I would wear this anytime of the year (and in fact was sporting this in January 2018!) but I am sharing now as spring has officially arrived!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats China Glaze I'll Pink to That, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with MdU 65 using an image from FUN 26.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to add a few dots for interest; dotted using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Valentine Sweater Nails

It was a chilly -15C/5F with a windchill of -25C/-13F this morning when I got into my vehicle to go to work. Thank goodness for heated seats as it seemed that the car didn't get warm until I got to work! But it's a perfect day to share sweater nails with a Valentine theme as Valentine's is just around the corner! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of pink texture skittles; I was really surprised I had so many shimmery pink textures!  Used either two or three coats of Sinful Surreally Sweet, Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer Work of Tart, Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer Berried Under, Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer Cinny Sweet and Rimmel Candyfloss Cutie.

I waited about an hour for them to dry and texture up.  Then stamped using MoYou Fashionista Collection-03 on all fingers except thumb which is BM-H01.  I had the darnedest time getting that thumb image to work.  Not one clear stamper would work and I had to use my regular go to marshmallow but then couldn't see it well for placement and of course, stamped it a bit crooked!

BM-H01

Have a great weekend and try to stay warm if it's cold in your area too!

Digit-al Dozen Does All That Glitters; Day 2

I have a habit of doing manis with the ring finger accent nail and this is from a phase when I was doing pretty neutral nails (for me, anyway, as brights is more my thing!) with matching glitter accents.  I love, love, love how this turned out even thought it's not a bright and am sharing for Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen all that glitters challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits Love Yourself First, with accent of Girly Bits Sand of a Beach, CoTM July 2017.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Apipila p.02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added studs to accent.

I was going to leave it at that but I'm all about the busy nails so decided to dot all the flowers using the accent polish; Girly Bits Sand of a Beach.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I think these two colours pair really well and tried to capture the holo in Sand of a Beach!

Here's the other ladies Day 2 mani's!
