Digit-al Dozen Does Colo(u)rs That Collide; Day 1

Not only is it Thanksgiving Day but it is also the first day of Digit-al Dozen week; our theme this month is colours that collide.  This is a rare time that I'm sharing two mani's in the same day so that I can still post for Thanksgiving Day but also try to keep on track for Digit-al Dozen posts.

I've taken day 1's nails a little literally; the colours actually collide on the nail (versus two colours that may clash) but the good thing is that we have wide berth on how we interpret the challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish Crazy Mod Love, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Lina Twirls & Swirls 01 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I took a pix outside the next day so you could see the awesome holoness of Cupcake Polish Mod Love.

Here's the other ladies day 1 mani's!

Enjoy These Last Days of Summer Weather!

Southern Ontario is going through a little heat wave these last few days even though the first day of fall has come and gone!  Not that I'm complaining; we didn't have that great of a summer as it was cool and raining so much in the spring and early summer as well as unseasonably cool in late summer.  Anyway, not like we have any choice in the matter but I thought I would at least share these summer nails that I was sporting about a month ago!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Quo by Orly Femme Fatale, no top coat.  I love this colour; so bright and fun; it's the colour that I've wore on my toes most of the summer!  Yes, I try to take my own polish when I get a pedi so that I have it in case I need a touch up.  I also take my own quick dry top coat because they never, ever have quick dry tc at the salon and I can cut down dry time (plus am usually wearing sandals all summer long so my dry time is cut down substantially) so I keep this polish and a bottle of KBShimmer Clearly on Top in my purse.  I have a couple backups of this too because I love it so much!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from MoYou Tropical 16 (middle), MoYou Tropical 06 (thumb), Lina 4 Seasons-Summer 03 (ring), Lina 4 Seasons-Summer 02 (image over words on ring) and Lina Feeling Shapely! 02 (index and pinky); used Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Thanks for looking...and enjoy this summer weather while we can!

Digit-al Dozen Does Wool/Copper; Day 4

I'm catching up on my Digit-al Dozen posts but still hope to get them done in the next few days!  This is what I came up with for day 4!

Started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Shock Wave, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Creative Shop 86 (pinky and ring), Creative Shop 55 (middle and thumb) and BP-59 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Filled in the sheep on the ring, pinky and thumb using Painted Polish Blanc Slate then dabbed Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Sugar Fix to mimic wool texture on those images and Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich on the index finger.

Decided to add a few dots for added colour, filler and interest using MdU 97.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a good pix of the dots before I top coated, which eliminated a lot of the texture on the sheep.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

 Thanks for looking!

Weekend Brights!

Good morning....it still is morning, I believe!  Hopefully you've been enjoying your weekend!  These have been on my nails since Thursday night and I did the base polish on Wednesday.  Loving the brightness of the base which is perfect for summer!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Pinkie which I absolutely love!  I love everything about this polish; the colour with just a hint of the added holographic which is one of my favourite types of bases and I don't know what it is but I can pretty much apply these polishes with no clean up...I'm guessing its the combination of the formula and the brush.  I was thinking I wish I could buy like 1000 of the brushes with a few caps and just use it every time I polish my nails.  I wonder if that's a thing.  Or just me thinking it should be!  I loved this base so much that I even wore it without stamping for 24 hours which doesn't happen very often!  FYI, I got this at Harlow and Co. as she just did a Picture Polish restock about a week ago and I jumped on it!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Eventually I did stamp on it!  Used an image from UberChic Chevron 02 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

UberChic Chevron 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added double stamped floral images using UberChic 28-01 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Blanc Slate (and a good clear stamper lol).  I haven't had very good luck with stamping these types of designs and while not perfect, they turned out better than I thought they would. Overall, I was happy how they looked.  Even better, I was also able to stamp Ms. Cindy with the same designs.

This design has so many possibilities; I can see myself doing it over and over again in a whole bunch of different colours!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend; thanks for looking!

Fluid Art Fail Made Pretty Cool Decal!

I'm sorry for being absent this last week or so; life has just been kicking me in the butt and I haven't had time to do any posts, etc. even though I'm still changing up my nails almost every day...night I mean, usually around 1 am as that's when I'm finding time to do them!  Thank you for hanging in there and waiting for me to post versus just unfollowing me on whatever media you do follow!  I sincerely appreciate it!

This mani was from a fluid art fail from when I was sampling different fluid additives to see if they would create cells for DYI fluid art including sampling different silicone mats so see how they smooshed, helped in the cell process etc.  The result was a fail as far as fluid art goes but it did turn out a pretty cool mat decal so I still added it to my nails and did some stamping and was pretty happy how it ended up looking, even if it was a fluid art fail!  Here's what I came up with!

Started out with the failed fluid art decal.  I'm not sure actually which polishes I used other than LA Colors but I know for these fluid arts, I've been pretty much sticking to non indie polishes and those that are on the lower end of retail costs because they use up so much polish and because at the time, I was doing a lot of experimenting and I didn't want to use up some of my indie or high end polishes! I actually found some notes on this; used LA Colors Family Ties, NYC Polyester Pink, NYC Snow White, WetnWild Who Is Ultra Violet and LA Colors Punchy were the polished used for the base.

But before I do get to the nails, this is Ms. Cindy wearing the LA Colors Family Ties which is an amazing hot pink gel polish! I wore it alone on Ms. Cindy while wearing the mani I'm sharing now.  Absolutely love the colour, finish, shine and application of this polish!  I thinkkkk I had found these in Dollar Tree for $1.25 each over the winter and pretty much bought one of every colour they had and so happy that I did!

But back to the nails; applied decal to the nails, did clean up, etc.

Applied KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa I using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I think this turned out to be a pretty cool mani and is exactly what I love about stamping; an interesting image that you can see the interesting base below can make awesome nails!  Or in this case, the stamping saved the mani because remember, it was a fluid art fail that I went with anyway but it did end up creating a pretty cool base for the stamping!  Never be afraid to try out your fail; worst case is you've used some time and acetone and you have another canvas for your next creation!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Christmas in July; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week and our theme this week is Christmas in July!  I have to forewarn you, my nails this month are more winter in July than Christmas but it's winter in my neck of the woods at Christmas time so it still counts...right??!  Well, I'm going with it!  Here's what I came up with for my day 1 mani!

Started with a base of two coats of Fancy Gloss Pink Dreams, no top coat.  One coat provides good coverage but I did a second pretty much out of habit!  And please excuse the little fibers; I did these nails in between doing laundry and didn't notice them while doing my nails!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped image from Creative Shop 153 at the tips of a few nails using FunkyFingers Gesso, then stamped using the layering images from Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02, first using Fancy Gloss Imperial.  This is another one coater that stamps well!  The only issue is that it dries veryyyyy fast so stamp quickly!

Creative Shop 153

Stamped the second layering image from same plate using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Then the last layering image using Fancy Gloss Neon Pink.

Stamped accent nails using another image from the same Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 plate again using Fancy Gloss Imperial as well as stamped the snow flakes again using Creative Shop 153 using the same polish.

Added a few random dots on accent fingers using FunkyFingers Gesso and on all nails using Fancy Gloss Neon Pink to colour coordinate all the nails!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the rest of the ladies day 1 mani's!
