Fluid Art Friday!

I haven't done fluid art in a while.  I've been wanting to participate in the Friday colour collage challenges for #FluidFridayFriends but just haven't had time due to other commitments, mainly work getting home late, then trying to do laundry, grocery shopping, etc. (aka, every chore I do on the weekends usually) as I'm away most weekends from May to October. Hopefully, I'll get back to it in the fall and over the winter!  I did this fluid back in April and thought I'd share it now!

This is the fluid decal that I had made with DYI fluid polish.  Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the polishes used.

Applied the portions of the decal on my nails.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I wanted an interesting image but not so much coverage that it covered the base fluid cells so stamped using an image from Marianne Nails n.46 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns; Day 2

It's day 2 of Digit-al Dozen pattern week and I did these pattern on pattern nails which are a little different but I try to think outside of the box sometimes for challenges and holidays and this is one of those times!  Yes, the dots are a pattern and so is the water marble design!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of Ruby Kisses Barbie Purple, no top coat.  Perfectly named lol!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped image from Moyra 103 Birds Always Sing using Painted Polish Stamped in Rose, Stamped in Taro and Thirty and Flirty.

Unfortunately, the gradient stamping wasn't giving me the punch I wanted for my nails, so decided to double stamp using an image from Kelly Negri KN 17 using Painted Polish Deux 2.0.  This is more my style!

Here's the other ladies day 2 pattern mani's!

More Layering....and Not A Floral!

Another experimental layering mani!  Hard to believe that I didn't stamp a floral image either as it seems to be what I'm gravitating to lately!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Mira, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Wildflower Lacquer Fairy Lights, no top coat.  This was from April 2019 Polish Pick Up.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Sugar Bubbles SBS18 using Painted Polishes Stamped in Rose, Thirty & Flirty and Stamped in Cinderelly.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I took this picture the next day in overcast skies; you can see the cool flakies in the Wildflower Lacquer better! Love it!  This would have been a great mani to do a matte topcoat but I didn't think of it at the time...but there is always next time!

Hope you are having a great weekend and thanks for looking!

#FluidArtFriday/#FluidFridayFriends

It's fluidartfriday and I did these nails based upon the colour palette that was chosen for the #fluidartfriends group this week over on IG.  Here's what I came up with!

This is the colour pallette this week!
These were the polishes used.  I added a light pink shimmer as I like the shimmer look in my decals. They are Sally Hansen Miracle GelSugar Fix, Savvy Fairy Twinkle, OPI Another Ramen-tic Evening, Sally Hansen CSM Mardi Grape and Zoya Jana.

Even though I had a bottle of clear DYI fluid polish and used it successfully in the past, it just didn't seem to create as many cells this time round so I had to do a few different decals to get enough cell images that I was happy with.

I cut out the parts of the decals that I was going to use.

Applied them to my nail.  I made these decals Wednesday night and applied last night (Thursday); they were the easiest decals I have ever worked with for removal and pliability (is that even a word??!!).  I guess because they were fresh they moved nicely on the nail and were bendable; I had been making decals and using them weeks later so they were much more brittle and the cleanup was terrible!  I am really sorry about my nasty cuticles right now; I'm going through a bad spell lately and have been to doctor about them; I'm on the verge of eczema on my hands and nothing seems to be working and they are particularly poor right now; colour wise as well as all nasty looking from dry skin and me trying to remove it, etc etc.  The paper cut on my ring finger doesn't help lol.  And you can't see it, but I also scraped my knuckle on my index finger last weekend opening a gate.  Hopefully you can overlook the skin for the nail art design!  It's not going to stop me from doing my nails; I have been dealing with it for a while now and I guess if it is so offensive, please don't look at my medias out there.  If I knew how to photo shop, I would, but I don't, so I can't!  I can't do anything about it as no creams, etc. seem to be working, medicated or otherwise, but I do hope it clears eventually!  And yes, they are as sore as they look!  I've been trying not to do my nails as often but the nail fanatic in me still wants to do my nails!  So I've been doing them but haven't really been sharing them when they are at their worst, except today which is pretty much as bad as they have been.  It doesn't help using all the acetone to remove the decal parts but can't be helped.  What we suffer for our art!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Of course I stamped them; double stamped using Painted Polish Stamped in Rose and MdU 2 using images from Marianne Nails XXL 6.  I wanted to do all nails with the floral design but it seemed to block the base too much so used another image on the rest of the nails.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Purple Double Stamp Floral

I love these eye catching nails on one of my favourite go to bases!  And the best part is they are easy as pie!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimensions Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This was one of those nights that I didn't have much time to do my nails but still wanted to change them so was going with simple mani of purple stamped floral on the holo base (my go to pretty much when I can't quickly decide to wear on my nails.  Pretty neutral to me!).  So pulled a few different purples.  On my test (right) hand, I had stamped using Mdu 101 which was the light lilac shade but it was too light of a shade for the image to show well.  So then I stamped with MdU 14 which  was the navy and it was good.  So when I stamped on top of the MdU 14 on the test nail, I'm like-this is amazing!  Nice light and dark contrast and you can still see all the sparkle and holo goodness from the base through.  These were my colours!

Stamped using MdU 101 using image from MoYou Flower Power 20.

Then stamped again using same image using MdU 14.  I didn't shadow stamp, just randomly restamped the image however it laid on the nail because it didn't really matter as the base stamping was just another coloured background for interest and I still wanted the base polish to shine through.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This is everything I love about stamping; quick and easy, interesting image, colourful and still see base polish shine through!

Butterflies!

Just like I've been obsessed with floral nails lately, I went through a butterfly stage back in the fall.  A few other mani's will show up eventually but I really liked how these turned out!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Color Club It's Going to be Major, no top coat.  Love this shade!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using image from SugarBubbles SB 040.

Double stamped using image from Kelly Negri KN7 using EdK Tuco.

After doing some brush work filling in a few spots, stamped accent with Marianne Nails n.104 using same EdK Tuco, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

You know me and my love for busy nails so decided to triple stamp more little butterflies here and there using Marianne Nails n.104 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Gradient Bubbles!

This was a Digit-al Dozen mani that I did as a recreation to a past mani but had enough mani's to share so it didn't make the cut during challenge week but am sharing now!  A pretty simple mani overall with some gradient stamping but overall, it didn't turn out too badly!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Royal, no top coat. Picture Polish Royal is a blogger collaboration polish by Olivia Jade Nails who happens to be part of the Digit-al Dozen; a very talented blogger here.  Er, um, maybe I should have shared this during Digit-al Dozen week; it would have been more appropriate! hahaha!  I just love these Picture Polish scattered holographic polishes; great colours with added interest of the scattered holographic for just a bit of base interest, they glide on the nail with no issues and super easy to remove.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Lesly LS52 using MdU 16 and FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  Disregard nudge on thumb; sometime between top coating and taking the pix, I nicked it someplace and it is slightly off at the free edge.  So frustrating when that happens!
