Pumpkins

I've been on a little fall mani kick lately; this is one of four mani's I wore this week.  I shared one my last post and a couple more will be posted next week.  Anyway, when I did this mani, I was thinking what would be a cool base to highlight some pumpkin stamps being the inspiration for the mani; this is what I came up with.

Started with a base of two coats of SpaRitual Kindness.  This is an absolutely perfect fall polish!  Kindness dries on the matte side as you can see below but I'm sure would be stunning top coated and glossy! I thought it was great with the pumpkins in mind because it kinda reminds me of pumpkin pie...if pumpkin pie had gold shimmer in it!

Layered with a coat of Pretty & Polished Phoenix then topped with SV.

Stamped a bunch of pumpkins using assortment of plates using FUN charcoal stamping polish; MJ VI (thumb), BM224 (middle), BM-H11 (pinky and index), and Chez Halloween 001 (ring).

Topped with SV to finish.

Here's a look at the some of the plates used.

Fall Leaves

Fall is upon us here in Ontario; in the GTA, leaves are just starting to turn but in cottage country a few hours north, the fall colours have been out in their glory for two or more weeks!  I thought I'd do a fall themed mani; here's what I came up with.

Started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen CSM Butterscotch, topped with SV.  If someone would have told me a few years ago that I'd be wearing a mustard shade of yellow....on purpose.....I'd say they were nuts...but I've reached for this colour several times already.  It seems to be my shade of choice for the fall season; similar to when I kept on reaching for China Glaze Kalahari Kiss time and time again last year...another fugly I never thought I'd like!

Stamped using FUN 8 with assortment of polishes; Essence Do You Speak Love?, Nubar On the Radar, Sally Hansen Insta-dri Lickety-Split Lime and Jumpin' Jade.

Topped with SV to finish.

A pix of the other hand; it's slightly different.  (I think I like how it turned out better lol!)

A pix I took a few weekends ago that was used for  inspiration!

Dance Legend New Messiah

I'm sorry to keep on saying this (I'm such a boring blogger and don't have a whole lot of things to say on a good day!), but this is another mani from archives from almost two months ago; another mani done with a holographic base and a full size stamped image on top which seems to be my go to combination when pressed for time but still want to do a mani change.

Started with a base of two coats of Dance Legend #7, New Messiah, no topcoat.

Stamped with FUN charcoal stamping polish using MJ XIX replacement plate.  Please excuse the excessive moisturizer on my index finger; I didn't even notice it during the taking of these pix...and it's in every single one so no way getting around posting it.  Talk about wrecking a picture!

Topped with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Fast Dry Top Coat to finish (very first pix).

Here's a pix of my other hand which I did slightly different.

Mani Using New MoYou Plates

My eagerly anticipated package of MoYou plates arrived a couple weeks ago!

I shared this pix on AiS when the package arrived and it had been asked if I ordered them all; but while it seems like them all, no, I didn't!  There are a few of the plates that are dupey/very close to plates that I already have so didn't need to get them.....but I still have a few more preorder ones to arrive yet!  More plates have been released since my order arrived, but I'm going to hold out for a while...I think I have enough options here to try for a little while!

Needless to say, it was super difficult to pick out a plate to use the first time; so many options....almost too many (is there really such a thing?!) While there are a lot of images that I know I'll be using for themed manis, I was in the mood for something different; this is the first mani I did using one of them.

Started with a base of two coats of Duri Lavender the Magnificent, no topcoat.  This pix isn't 100% accurate in colour as I don't edit or colour enhance any pix, so it is slightly darker and leans blue in the pix than in real life.  The polish also dries slightly darker than the colour on the bottle.

Layered a coat of Orly Love Each Other on top; again, no topcoat.

Added Tokidoki Stellina at tips; no topcoat.

Stamped using white Konad special polish using MoYou Princess Collection-13.

Here's a closer look at Princess Collection-13.

Topped with SV to finish.

MoYou plates are available here if you want to check them out!  They have been regularly releasing new plates on preorder too...again, which is why I don't have all of them...there have been a lot more plates released since my order back in August!

An Un-Girly Mani

This weeks FB Adventures In Stamping Sunday posting challenge was an un-girly mani.  This is what I came up with!

I had picked up a bunch of Essie polishes that were in the clearance bin at the local Shoppers Drug Mart for $2 the day before and decided to use one of them for the base; this is two coats of Essie Where's My Chauffeur, no topcoat.

Added Catrice Forest Floor by sponging.

Stamped images from Apipila P.12 (index) and Adventures in Stamping A by Apipila plate (middle, ring and thumb) using black Konad special and Catrice Forest Floor for leaves on middle and grass at the hooves of the grazing horse).  I double stamped the fence boards at the base of the tree as I didn't do a great job putting it at the tips!

To finish the scene, added clouds and sun from Apipila Kids A using white and yellow Konad special polish.

Here's a closer look at the plates used.

Adventures in Stamping by Apipila (how cool is it that the FB group has their own plate!)

NailNation 3000 Awesome Sauce #451

Did you have a good weekend?  My weekend was great; nothing better than spending the weekend in cottage country when the leaves are starting to turn, looking at the beautiful scenery with warm and sunny skies during the day, then clear and cool evenings!

I have around 45 mani's in archives so thought I'd share one of them versus what's been on my nails lately; here's one from the middle of July but the colour is fall appropriate!  Heck, it can be worn anytime too!

Started with a base of two coats of NailNation 3000 #451, Awesome Sauce, no topcoat.

Stamped using white Konad special polish using Chez Floral 001 on all fingers except accent; accent is SdP 71.

Added a few blue dots for a pop of colour using Mundo de Unas stamping polish, colour no. 5.

Topped with SV.  Unfortunately, the base, stamping polish and topcoat had a weird reaction and turned the white an off colour; it wasn't hardly noticeable on the nails but you can tell in the pix that the white polish is no longer a bold white.

Lastly, there's a new tab at the top of my home page; the Digit-al Dozen has started a blog and the tab has a direct link to it or you can go here.....please take a few minutes to check it out if you haven't already!  There are also links to various social media via the blog so you don't miss anything regardless which media you use!
