Digit-al Dozen Does Metal; Day 4

How about a little heavy 'metal' for Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen does metal challenge!

(I had to make pix a little smaller as the pinky was cut off otherwise)

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with an accent of Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights from the Selena Gomez collection, two coats, top coated.

Stamped with assortment of images; MJ IV (pinky), MoYou Roxy Collection-06 (index), MoYou Back to the 90's-01 (middle), MoYou Biker Collection-02 (ring and guns on thumb) and MoYou Biker Collection-07 (roses on thumb).  Stamping polishes used were FUN black stamping polish, Mundo de Unas 30 (blue), 9 (red) and 8 (green).

A closer look at a few plates used; this is MoYou Biker Collection 07.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.

I think this is one of the more creative mani's I've done in a while; this is why I always enjoy the Digit-al Dozen challenges even though I always find them challenging!  I don't think I would have done a G N' R mani otherwise but was really happy how it turned out

Digit-al Dozen Does Metal; Day 3

Extremely late in getting Day 3 Digit-al Dozen mani up but here it is!  For today's post, I went with a polish that had a metal in the name (I know, not terribly creative, right?).  I chose Layla Mystic Gold which not only has gold in the name, but is gold, which is a metal!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Jade Mystic Gold; two coats, no topcoat.

Stamped with FUN black stamping polish using an image from Big SdP X.  I love this image, but I'm not sure it was the best one to use on the holo base as the base and the stamping are both fairly busy and it's a lot going on with the image competing with the holo.

Top coated to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 3 mani's; I checked them out during the day and they are outstanding....as always!

Digit-al Dozen Does Metal; Day 2

Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen does metal!  This is a little different.  I got to thinking what is made out of metal (and of the plethera of items made out of metal, do I have a stamping plate to go along with it?  Everyone knows I have no free hand skills to speak of!).......and decided upon scissors. Here's what I came up with.

To go along with the metal theme, went for a silver metallic look using two coats of OPI This Gown Needs a Crown, no top coat.

Stamped using plates from Sugar Bubbles SB 010 (thumb), BFF 08 (index and ring) and MoYou Fairytale Collection-13 (middle and pinky) using black FUN stamping polish.  The cut lines on the BFF image didn't show up very well so drew them in....somewhat.....remember, I have no freehand skills, not even dashes!

Closer look at MoYou Fairytale Collection-13

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

The Edward Scissorhands image didn't show up the best; not sure if this is a plate image issue or from stamping on the slightly textured based.

Here's the other ladies extremely creative Day 2 metal manis!

Digit-al Dozen Does Metal; Day 1

It's the week to feature Digit-al Dozen challenge mani's; this month's theme is metal.  I chose to share this mani as it looks like copper (to me) and copper is a metal; this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of two coats of Girly Bits I'm Your Venus**, no topcoat.  I'm Your Venus was easy to apply, two coats gave good coverage.  Girly Bits I'm Your Venus is part of the recently released Girly Bits 80's Girl Bands Collection which can be seen on the GB's site here.

Different lighting.

Bottle shot.

Stamped using Infinity 29 using black FUN stamping polish.

Top coated to finish.

This pix was taken the next day in the sun....loving all the sparkly holo!

A-England Excalibur Renaissance and Hurt No Living Thing

I apologize for the unexpected hiatus; I had hoped to get this post up much sooner than now as I've had these nails done for a couple weeks and uploaded the pix a week ago; just hadn't finish the post. Hopefully, I'll have some time this week to do a few posts and next week is the start of the Digit-al Dozen challenge so the plan is that there will be a few more posts coming up soon!

Here's a couple mani's highlighting A-England polishes that were sent to me from Nail Polish Canada to review.

The first is A-England Hurt No Living Thing.

A-England Hurt No Living Thing has a slightly tinted base with beautiful pink shimmer.  As Hurt No Living Thing is fairly sheer (and I'm sure you don't want to see my stained nails!), I layered one coat over Quo by Orly Runway Ready.

Different lighting; the shimmer is more obvious.  (This lighting, the polish is more accurate; but always give me lobster hands!)

Stamped using Lily Anna 08 using Mundo de Unas 20 stamping polish, which I chose to compliment the shimmer in Hurt No Living Thing.

Top coated to finish.  Feel free to click on the pix to see the shimmer from A-England Hurt No Living Thing!

A-England Excalibur Renaissance was also sent for review.  This is one coat, no topcoat....aka, perfect in those situations when you need a quick mani change! There were no application issues; one coat had great coverage and it dried fast as the case with most polishes with this metallic finishes. And while the pix look a little brush strokey, it wasn't nearly as obvious in real life.

Stamped using Konad black special polish using assortment of images from plates Big SdP C-2 (thumb, ring and pinky), Big SdP O (index) and Big SdP I (middle).  Unfortunately, cleanup isn't the best....I have been using other black polishes for stamping and forgot how bad Konad is to clean up.  It's not too bad here the next day, but still could be better.

A-England polishes are available here at Nail Polish Canada**.

Ellagee Ev'ryone Wishes for Silver and Gold

Here's something a little different than what I normally do. A look I really liked in theory, just didn't execute it that well!  I will try this out another time (New Year's Eve??) for sure and hopefully have better results, but maybe this might give someone some inspiration so I'm posting it anyway.  Here's what I came up with.

Started with a base of one coat My Vampire is Buff on thumb, middle and pinky and topped with one (maybe two) coats of Ellagee Ev'ryone Wishes for Silver and Gold.  Accent fingers are one coat each of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby and OPI This Gown Needs a Crown, no topcoat. (Really liking this look with no stamping!)

Stamped using Konad gold black pearl special polish using Apipila 01.

Here's were I messed it up...by adding too much topcoat on the pinky and it blobbed causing the stamping to smear.  It was a pretty pleasant surprise to see the golden shimmer in the stamping as it really popped when it was topcoated!

My test hand.

Love this!!!
