Digit-al Dozen Does Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Day 3

When I was a kid, my friend and I spent many a night laying on the grass in one of our backyards looking up at the stars. If we were lucky enough, our gazing would reward us with seeing shooting stars......and when we couldn't see any, it was to try to pinpoint out the various constellations (and we aren't astronomy majors by any means....we were usually good for the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper and the North Star and that's about it!).  We also had our fair share of UFO sightings, too......mind you, they weren't actually UFO's but anything not readily identified as a flying plane or a shooting star was automatically a UFO in our young minds!  We always had fun with guessing what the moon craters looked like and if the night was bright enough, watching the clouds sail by!  Memories....makes we want to give her a call right now to reminisce....I'm sure she remembers this as well as a lot of these times were us camping out in one of our yards! Here's my first ever galaxy nails....complete with the Big Dipper!

Started with a base of two coats of Brienne The Blue by CANVAS lacquer**, no topcoat.  Two coats gave good coverage; Brienne the Blue by CANVAS lacquer has fine silver and blue glitters with subtle holo glitter that can be seen peaking through...perfect base for galaxy nails!

Removal was a breeze and there was no nail staining either as sometimes happens with dark blue polishes. CANVAS Lacquer polishes are available via their Etsy shop here!

To create the galaxy, I used an assortment of polishes and sponged onto the nails until I got what I hoped looked like galaxy nails!  I used CANVAS Lacquer Orchids**, then OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then more with Girly Bits Man Sized Love and lastly Nicole by OPI Fuchsia and Far Between.

Stamped on a few dots using LLC B with white Konad special polish.

Added images from MoYou Sci-Fi Collection-03 using white Konad special polish.

MoYou Sci-Fi Collection-03

Stamped on a few stars here and there with an image from Big SdP-B.

For more sparkle interest, topped thumb and middle finger with Sally Hansen Ice Pop.  I didn't do all the fingers because I thought it was smearing the stamping designs.  In hindsight, if I was to do again, I would add it before stamping as it really did sparkle once top coated.  The pix before, you can see the added sparkle on those two fingers (well, I can tell; hopefully you can too!)

Closeup of the thumb.

Sunlight the next day.

Digit-al Dozen Does Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!; Day 2

This is a mani I did in early July for a kids fishing derby.  I had shared it on IG the day of the event but not on the blog but think it fits well with the Digit-al Dozen summer theme, so thought it would be a good time to share.....especially given that I had a bad nail break a couple days ago and don't think I'll be doing any mani's for a few days as my finger is so sore.  I hope I have enough mani's done to share for the rest of the week!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (no pix).  I stamped the thumb first using FUN 4. Added a few dabs here and there to increase the tree canopy and for shading interest.

As the fishing derby entrants were all young children, I added a couple kids to the thumb using MoYou Princess Collection-11.  (I was super relieved that I stamped it on a decent location on the thumb lol)

Added more images from various plates; Infinity 11 (fish, seaweed on index and waves on middle and ring), JR-15 (fish on middle), MoYou Scholar Collection-01 (pinky) MJ XXV test (fish on ring) and Apipila Kids A (sun on thumb and cloud on middle).Stamping polishes used were black Konad and Sally Hansen instadri for the yellow.

Added bubbles on index using Infinity 11.  Also started shading and filing in the voids to create the water, sky, fish, etc.  This was completed using a bunch of jellies I had made.

MJ XXV test (slightly different that MJ XXV that was offered for sale)

More shading...it's just like colouring in a colour book only with nail polish!

Painted in the fish line on the middle and index fingers.

Finished shading.

Top coated to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!; Day 1

I'm very late in getting this post up...and hopefully it will still be Day 1 by the time I do, but it's again Digit-al Dozen challenge week!  This weeks theme is summer; this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (no pix as have shown before).  To make the mani all tropical and summery, added a coat of 10.1 Polish Going to a Rave**. I love the oh, so bright colours of 10.1 Going to a Rave...bright pink, blue, green and yellow.  Perfect for a tropical mani!

Using stamping polishes in the same colours of the glitters, added images from MoYou Tropical Collection-02.  The stamping polishes are Mundo de Unas 4 (blue), 11 (yellow), 39 (green) and 15 (pink).

Added birds from MoYou Tropical Collection-06 using Mundo de Unas #2 (black).

Finished with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

10.1 Going to a Rave and other 10.1 Polishes are available here!

10.1 Eternal Life with Shimmer Jennifer Accent

It's hard to believe that that August is here already....where did the summer go?  Before we know it, kids will be heading back to school!  My kids are probably the exception but are actually looking forward to heading back in September.  Not that they love school or anything, but I think they are missing some of their friends that they haven't been able to connect with since school ended.  Two of my teens have also been working quite a bit over the summer holidays and I think they find school easier than work so are eager to get back! Anyway, here's a mani that I did not too long ago featuring another 10.1 Polish; this is 10.1 Eternal Life** with an accent of Shimmer Polish Jennifer**!

Started with two coats of 10.1 Eternal Life and three coats of Shimmer Jennifer, no topcoat.

Bottle shot of 10.1 Eternal Life. Application was easy, the polish has a light beautiful holo!  No staining and removal was a breeze.

I decided to go with some stamping that is untypical of me using some abstract images for a change...and really liked how they turned out!  Stamped using MoYou Back to the 80's-03 with accent of Infinity-10 using Mundo de Unas #3.
