Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn; Day 3

It's Day 3 of autumn week; this is really dark to what I typically wear but didn't mind it for a change!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of L'Oreal Brownie Points with accent of two coats of Love, Angeline Amber Acapella; no top coat.

Topped L'Oreal Brownie Points with Girly Bits What a Rush QD Top Coat on all fingers except accent before stamping.

Stamped using CND Gold Chrome using an image from Chez Floral 002.  I wish I had a warmer gold for stamping; this is OK but a more golden one would have been better I think.  Any suggestions?

Added a couple studs to accent for interest.

Topped all with Girly Bits What a Rush QD TC.

I typically have to add top coat to the studs to help them adhere but liked the matte look better on that finger, so topped with OPI matte to finish.

Please check out the other ladies awesome Day 3 autumn nails!

P.S.  If you are into these Love, Angeline microglitters, there's a few on sale right now here!

Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn; Day 2

It's Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn; this time I went with lots of crows - the bird kind and scarecrows with fall colours!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of SpaRitual Positive Vibe, no top coat.

Did a sponged gradient using SpaRitual Kindness and cbl Little Red Corvette.

Top coated before stamping.

Using Funky Fingers Dark Knight, stamped assortment of images using MoYou Explorer Collection-10 (thumb), MoYou Nature Collection-14 (index plus birds nearest cuticle on ring), MoYou Gothic Collection-07 (middle), Canadian Nail Fanatic 001 with Fig Tree Stamps (ring) and MoYou Gothic Collection-05 (pinky).
Top coated to finish.

I thought it would look cool with matte finish so added coat of OPI matte.  I really liked how the gold glitter in SpaRitual Kindness stood out once the matte polish was applied.

Digit-al Dozen Does Autumn; Day 1

Welcome back to Digit-al Dozen week!  This month's challenge is fall....and seeing how it's Thanksgiving Day in Canada, I thought I somewhat combine the two for today's mani!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Butterscotch and Spa Ritual Positive Vibe (thumb and ring); both are two coats each.  When I started out in my nail art journey several years ago, these would be fugly to me but now, they are perfect fall colours...especially Sally Hansen Butterscotch!  I've reached for it many times already doing fall mani's!

Stamped using images from Messy Mansion MM23 on all fingers except index which is Bundle Monster BM-H11.  Stamping polishes used are MdU 59 and 66 and FUN red.  The black is Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD Top Coat to finish.

Here are the other ladies Day 1 autumn mani's.  A warm welcome to our newest member, Cubbiful who is sharing her first mani's this week!

Thanks for looking...and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Teal and Gradient

It's Friday so that means another great nail art challenge! This weeks theme is teal; what is really cool about these bi-weekly themes is there's a mix up on how the theme is presented from everyone who is participating.  I got teal with gradient but you are going to see it done a bunch of different ways that teal is used so be sure to check out the inlinkz at the bottom of the page to see every one's awesome teal mani's!

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish What in Carnation? with no top coat.

Did a gradient using Colors by llarowe Mean Dean Proffitt.

Looks much better after cleanup!  Sometimes I like to show the look beforehand just because I think its cool!  I wish I had have realized there is fine glitter in cbl Mean Dean Proffitt before I did the gradient because cleanup was such a pain!  I think this was the mani that made me seriously look into finding a good cuticle barrier although half the time, I forget to use it or don't have the patience waiting for it to dry!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using an image from MJ Wedding Day.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This isn't the best pix but you can see the holo peeking through the stamping a little better!

Here's all the different ways teal was used in the other ladies mani's!

Tone on Tone

Here's an archived post from almost a year ago; it was one of several mani's I did when I went through a brief tone on tone phase!  This one was my favourites; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base two coats of Ciate Chinchilla, no topcoat, with accent of China Glaze 2Nite.

Stamped using the holo, China Glaze 2Nite on the Ciate.  Frankened a stamping polish using a mix of MdU 33 and 42 to try to match Ciate Chinchilla to stamp on the accent.  Image was from MoYou Gothic Collection-11.  This isn't the best pix but shows holo in the stamping well.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Hobbies!

I've joined a new nail art challenge group; New Crumpets Nail Tarts!  Of course, the biggest challenge is going to be keeping up with the weekly challenges but I'm up for it!  This is my inaugural post, with challenges most Friday's through to mid-February.

This week, the theme is hobbies.  I have to admit, I don't have many hobbies other than nail art, which takes up most of what little free time that I do have!  There was a time when I did attempt knitting but I never was good at it; I couldn't grasp purling nor could I ever do the starter stitches so was stuck knitting scarves and even that was after someone set up my needles!  I wish I could have grasped it; I do love the look of those knitted sweater coats and wish I was talented enough to create them!  Unfortunately, the only knitting for me will be on my nails; this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of Love, Angeline Amber Acapella with accent of OPI My Vampire is Buff, no top coat.

Stamped using images from MoYou Fashionista Collection-02 and 03 using MdU 43.

MoYou Fashionista Collection-02

MoYou Fashionista Collection-03

Added image to the accent from MoYou Hipster Collection-03 using MdU 22, 43 and Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Top coated to finish.

I didn't want to deal with glitter removal on right hand, plus this is my test hand to see how the images look; it's OPI My Vampire is Buff stamped with images from same plate with MdU 22.

Decided to go for the matte look; added coat of OPI matte.

Here are a whole lot more hobbies from other ladies in the group to check out!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month; I thought it would be a good way to kick off the month by sharing a pink mani!

Started with one coat of Nubar Cover Girl.  This isn't really picture worthy; I did a very quick lay down coat just for a little coverage as I knew I'd be sponging on more of it for better coverage as part of the mani.

Did a sponged gradient using Nabi Bright Purple and Anna Sui 370.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Apipila p.25 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Apipila p.25.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I even sponged my left hand and stamped it and it didn't turn out too badly!
