Another Mani Featuring EDM10

Here's another mani highlighting an image from Emily de Molly EDM10**.  With the use of latex barrier, clean up for sponged gradients has never been easier so I find I've been doing them more often.  I've been spicing them up with a little glitter or holo interest lately just to make them a little bit more interesting.  I think this colour combination and stamping worked well with the holo adding that little bit of extra umph!  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Taylor Blue; no pix as have shown before here.  Did a sponged gradient using it, Orly Midnight Show and Anonymous Lacquer Baby Vamp.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Emily de Molly EDM10.  This is another one of those images that has lots of voids so you can see the beauty of the polish base through yet is a pretty interesting image all by itself. This would also be a perfect image to make a stamper decal.  Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

St. Patrick's Day Mani

With St. Patrick's Day being 9 short days away, I thought I should get around to sharing a mani.  I'm not sure how many St. Patrick's Day mani's I'll have time to share between now and then, but hopefully there will be more to come!  I have one planned for the 17th if nothing else! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Don't Mess With OPI and Noodles Nail Polish Clovers and Coins; both two coats and shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I mixed a custom colour on the plate, Messy Mansion MM4, to match the OPI (as best as I could anyway) using MdU 7 and 48.  Topped with QD TC.  This is my favourite look of the bunch!

I wanted to do some stamping on the green base too but wasn't sure what to do; ended up using same image from Messy Mansion MM4 plate using Funky Fingers Gesso.  Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

This ended up being a little bit busier than I wanted when it was finished, but I don't mind busy!

Champagne Dancefloor by CANVASlacquer

Loving the exotic look of this mani with another polish received from CANVASlacquer** for review!

Started with a base of two coats of Champagne Dancefloor by CANVASlacquer, no top coat. Champagne Dancefloor is a creamy peach loaded with gold shimmer; there were no application issues and two coats gave opaque coverage.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Decided to do a gradient using Champagne Dancefloor with KBShimmer For Fox Sake.  What was really interesting with the sponging is that a lot of the gold shimmer sponged on the nail, making this beautiful, vibrant gold shimmer for the lower half of the gradient.  I love this colour combination!

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Nail Matinee NM05 using Funky Fingers Gesso.  I used the clear jelly stamper for placement; this is the perfect example of why the concept of the jelly stamper works so well as never in a million years would I have been able to place the image just so and centred so well!  All the lining up credit goes to the jelly stamper!  I picked this image to give the mani added interest while allowing the beauty of the golden shimmer to shine on the nail unobscured!

I'm sorry that my nails are so ill shaped in these pix; I didn't even notice until I was posting these pictures so I hope that I didn't offend anyone too badly!

Birthday Wishes!

Today I attended a 75th Birthday brunch; these were the nails I did for the occasion!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; while I initially planned on doing a pink, purple and white water marble for the base, I could not get the polishes to spread in the water so ended up doing an alcohol spray using Pipe Dream Polish Masquerades with CND Gold Chrome on top.  Shown with no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using Uber Chic 6-01 on all fingers except ring finger.  The accent numbers are Nailways Back to Basics 123ABC and FUN 4.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Hope you had a great weekend; thanks for looking!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Pastels

This weeks 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge is pastels; I had added prompt of nude base.  Let me tell you; I don't think I could have gotten anything harder!  It was so hard to find pastels colours that were dark enough to show up over a nude base (not withstanding that apparently I don't own many pastel stamping polishes) but I gave it a try anyway! Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of piCture pOlish Beige; shown below without top coat.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Did a gradient using MoYou London stamping polishes in Dusty Cloud, Olive Tree and Sage Smoke.  Image is from Sugar Bubbles SB040.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

This is just meh to me; I love the image, the stamping colours and the base is one of my favourite nudes but its too bleached for me; I much prefer brights and bolds but it was OK for a change!

Here's the other ladies pastel manis with all the different prompts!

Emily de Molly EDM10 on Neutral Base

I'm all about flakies right now so when I had a business meeting not too long ago; I thought I'd do a neutral nail look with a flakie topper for some interest as I try not to do too colourful or funky when I have meetings! I loved how this turned out; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer My Life's Porpoise; this is shown with no top coat.

I have no idea what I was thinking as I knew I was putting a flakie topper on this but for some reason, I added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC instead of the topper.  No ill effect to the nails and I'm going to say it was because of the late hour of doing my nails and probably habit, but oh, so not necessary!

Once dry, added a coat of Elevation Polish Stone Warrior.  I'm still about all the things flakie and love that a topper like Elevation Polish can transform the base in no time!

The holo rainbow from Elevation Polish Stone Warrior!

Added (another!) coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Added an image from Emily de Molly EDM10** using MdU 34.

Emily de Molly EDM10.  Like the other Emily de Molly plates that I've reviewed, the etching is perfect; there were no flaws in the images, no rough edges when scraping and the plate cleanup was excellent (no catching of edges leaving fibres on the plate).

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

DRUNK in Love by CANVASlacquer

I have another polish from CANVASlacquer** to share today; this is the stunning DRUNK In Love by CANVASlacquer.

Started with a base of two coats of Drunk in Love by CANVASlacquer; shown below with no top coat.  As described by CANVASlacquer, "DRUNK in Love is a a juicy watermelon red bubbling with holographic gold shimmer and sparkling rose copper and rose gold hex glitters."  There were no application issues; two coats gave opaque coverage.  The first coat was sheer enough that I thought I might even do my first pond mani but decided on stamping instead.  Even though this is a fairly deep red shade, clean up was a breeze; there was none of that red tinge left at the cuticle as sometimes happens when your application isn't perfect (like mine!) and you need to do brush clean up.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.  DRUNK in Love really came to life with top coat; the glitters in the jelly base really gave the polish a nice depth.  I didn't find it a glitter eater as can happen and only did the one coat of top coat and it was smooth to the touch.

Stamped using an image from Sugar Bubbles SB 040.

Sugar Bubbles SB 040.  So many images I want to use on this plate!

Added accent stone, then topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.
