Colors by llarowe The New Nude

This vivid green is Colors by llarowe The New Nude!  I think about me and my nail journey when I think about the name "The New Nude" as it reminds me that what I considered fugly a few years ago is just green, or brown, or mustard or whatever colour happens to be on my nails as I've expanded my colour horizons so much over the last few years!

Started with a base of two coats of Colors by llarowe The New Nude; shown with no top coat.  Cbl The New Nude was a Nailland exclusive.  I love the brightfulness of this green; perfect for a sunny day like today!

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails n.02 using FunkyFingers Guesso.  Instead of doing the full design on all nails, I wanted to isolate the large image for an accent; I attempted to use a clear stamper so I could center the image well but the image kept on drying before I could get the outlying images off so ended up using a regular stamper and hoped for the best for placement.  Surprisingly enough, the accent image was pretty good and centered so was happy about that!

Topped everything off with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Girly Bits Give Me One Good Raisin

Girly Bits Cosmetics was good enough to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Give Me A Good Raisin for every bottle sold on Friday May 6, 2106 and then through the rest of the weekend to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Wildfire Appeal.  I bought three bottles to help with the cause; keeping one and giving away one bottle each on FB and IG.  Below are the winners; I'll be posting on the appropriate pages the lucky winners to contact me in 24 hours.

I thought I'd do a mani with my bottle of Girly Bits Give Me A Good Raisin for the winning posts; here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Girly Bits Give Me A Good Raisin, no top coat.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I wasn't really sure which stamping polish colour would look best with this moody beauty; I ended up using MdU 33 Light Gray using images from Emily de Molly EDM 22.

Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 5

I'm a few days late for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen whimsy challenge but took a long weekend as it was a PA day and DS2 had no school on Friday, so headed to cottage country a little early.  While I had my nails done, didn't have time to post them before I went so here they are now!  This mani is also doing double duty for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Neon challenge; I had added prompt of saran wrap.

Started with a base of neon skittles; starting at the thumb and going clockwise:  Girly Bits Hip Hip Hurray, Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero, Girly Bits Get Indie Flow, LA Girl Disco Brites Deejay, and China Glaze Shocking Pink (Neon); all are shown with two coats, no top coat.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Did saran wrap smooshing finger by finger to make sure they were wet for the saran smoosh.  Starting at the thumb and going clockwise:  SBP 05.11.1 over Girly Bits Hip Hip Hurray; It's Hoop To Be Square over Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero; Girly Bits Thumb Your Melons over Girly Bits Get Indie Flow; Girly Bits Hoop! There It is over LA Girl Disco Brites Deejay; and China Glaze Celtic Sun over China Glaze Shocking Pink (Neon)

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Marianne Nails n.103 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight with accent of FunkyFingers Gesso.  I did the accent in white as I didn't think the black stamping would show up very well on the darker colours but in hindsight, I think they might have been OK.

I thought they might look a little bit more whimsy looking with some added dot accents so added random dots to the flower centers using same stamping polishes and topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish (first pix).

Here's the other ladies Day 5 whimsy manis ....and officially this challenge has ended!

Here's the other 40 Great Nail Art Ideas neon mani's too!

Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend; thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 4

These whimsical nails are for day 4 of Digit-al Dozen whimsy week!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Menthe Glaciale, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Big SdP C using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Dotted flowers using Love, Angeline Rhythm in Aquamarine which has the same colours but in glitter form which I think was a nice compliment to the creme.

Decided I wanted a little bit more bling so dotted some of the leaves on the smaller flowers then dotted centres with white as needed.

I was going to add some metal studs to the accent but then thought I would do some line striping using the same Love, Angeline polish.

Finally did something OK looking with nail vinyls!

Then got to thinking that some round studs might fit in the area left and they did so added them to make the accent stand out a bit more.  Go big or go home!

Topped everything off with a final coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 3

This post post should probably be called "50 Tips on How NOT to Water Marble" but Simply Nailogical already did a post here about water marbling fails and I don't think we need another post or video about it! Anyway, here's my dismal water marbling fail for Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen does whimsy!

I've tried water marbling a few times now; the very first time that I tried it was by far the best end result and even then it wasn't that good.  I've tried several times since then using not only Pipe Dream Polishes but others and the only polishes I can get somewhat decent to marble are the Pipe Dreams.  I'm sure this is user error and hopefully one day I'll get better at it, but for now, Pipe Dreams it is.  So started with these Pipe Dreams to create the water marble, which were over a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

No pix of finished water marble as some were really bad and the stamping covered the fails BUT I had this happen to my index finger on my first attempt to stamp on top of the water marbling.  I'm guessing it was from too much wet polish from the water marbling and smudged when I stamped.  So while I was doing cleanup, removed it and redid another water marble design on it.

I had exactly the same thing happen on the index finger again but this time, I just straightened and smooshed it as best I could like it was a decal because by this time, it was 1:30 am last night when I did these and I really needed to be getting to bed; just didn't have time to do it a third time.  Whatever I couldn't smoosh to cover the nail, I filled in with black polish.  So this is Chez Delany Papillons 001 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight stamped over the water marble base, no top coat.  And poor clean up but I was too tired to do better.  Note to self:  I knew it wasn't a good thing to sit down after 11 p.m. to do a water marble.

I think this mani might be OK to reattempt once I master, or even half master, water marbling.  Until then, sorry you had to see it!

Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 2

For Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen whimsy week, I did what I thought would be a whimsical activity like kite flying thinking of the wind blowing and the kite dancing all around in the wind!

Started with a base of two coats of Kiara Sky The Real Teal, no top coat (no pix as I did these nails quickly before work this morning!)  Sponged on Kiara Sky Skies The Limit and Angelacq Lacquer Spectrum Blue.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I placed an image from FUN 16 for base interest as well as the representation of the wind swirling around. Used MoYou London Dusty Cloud stamping polish.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before adding final stamping.

Stamped another image from FUN 16 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  Hand drew in the kite line to connect the fingers.  Also hand filled in some voids on the thumb.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 2 whimsy mani's!
