Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 3

Another Valentine's Day mani using texture polishes for day 3 of Digit-al Dozen texture challenge!

Started with a base of two coats each of OPI My Current Crush (thumb), OPI Pink Bubbly (ring and index) and OPI Pop Star (middle).  I have to say that I much prefer the look of My Current Crush versus the other two that are part of the OPI Pop Culture Collection.

Stamped using Creative Shop 19 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  Unfortunately, even with a clear stamper, I still didn't get the lines straight on the thumb.  Grrrrr!

Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 2

This is another one of those Valentine's Day manis that isn't in typical colours.  When I was searching through my stash of texture polishes, I came across this and because I was in the midst of doing Valentine's nails, I was like, how can I turn this into a VDay mani? I know it isn't your typical mani in your typical colours but hopefully it calls out to someone!  I can think of a few ladies who are into fugly colours who might love it! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Love & Beauty Sand Lacquer Antique Burnished Gold, no top coat.  My test nail, which was one coat, was a little bit more textured; I will have to try to do one coat only when using these texture polishes as sometimes, they are less textured with more coats of polish.

Stamped using Lina Make Your Mark 04 using a scraped gradient of MdU 88 and 99.  I think given the unusual base colour that these two colours complimented the base well!  I was also happy to use these two stamping polishes as I don't think I have used them before!

Here's a close up of the thumb; I think the gradient stamping was pretty good!

Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  Our theme this month is texture!  I actually like texture nail polish and crack it open every so often.  I did these nails back in December and was going to post them as part of sharing winter mani's but then I remembered our DD texture theme coming up so held off on posting them until now.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Sunshine with accents of three coats of Zoya Nyx.

Stamped lines on accents using Lina Make Your Mark 04 using MdU 3 (I love when the stamping polish matches the nail polish so well!)

Stamped snowflakes on the other nails using Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

I thought I was done but decided to add a another snowflake on each of the accent nails for some interest.  I'm glad I did; I like this version best!

Valentine Hearts!

I have a few Valentine's Day manis to share before the day of love arrives!  As in the past, I try to do some untypical holiday mani's to shake things up a bit!  This is one that, believe it or not, started by me observing an army green car on my way to work and I decided right there that army green nails were going on that night! That turned into a Valentine's Day mani with some unusual colours; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Butter London British Khaki (creme on ring and index), Painted Polish Lotus Love (middle) and Different Dimension Mystery Prototype 90 (thumb and pinky).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Kelli Negri KN12 (thumb) and Bunny Nails HD-B on the rest of the nails using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Added random little hearts using image from UberChic Love & Marriage 02 using MdU 46; also added a couple more rows of hearts on the pinky and middle using same image from HD-B and MdU 46 and FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  Also stamped same image from KN 12 using MdU 46 but just added the heart in the middle on the thumb.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I love how this turned out; I also love how you can take some not so typical Valentine's Day colours and turn it into a Valentine's Day mani!

Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Layering With Paint It Pretty Love Without Limits

The Paint It Pretty Polish Valentines Collection 2019 is available today here!  I've already shared swatches and Valentine's Day nail art in the last couple of posts and thought I'd share a layering look using Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limits!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of CND Vinylux Eternal Midnight.  (Two coats was good enough coverage for IRL but there were some baldy looking patches under the lights for the pix so added a third coat for good measure!)

Added a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.

Added a coat of Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limits on a few fingers.  (In hindsight, don't ask me what I put matte polish on these fingers as I knew I was going to layer on top of them!  No need to have matted but I guess I wasn't thinking!)

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to the non matte nails.

Stamped using images from Sugar Bubbles SBS 10 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limits and the rest of the Valentines Collection 2019** are available here now for $10 CAD each!

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Paint It Pretty Polish Valentines Collection 2019 With Nail Art!

Paint It Pretty Polish Valentines Collection 2019** is releasing tomorrow here!  I already shared the trio of polishes on my last post but of course I did some Valentines nail art using them as well!

Here's what I came up with!

On a base of two coats of Paint It Pretty Polish More Love, Less Paperwork, stamped using images from MdU San Valentin 4 with accent of BM-XL201 using Painted Polish Stamped in Rose and MdU 1.

MdU San Valentin 4.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Paint It Pretty Polish Grow Old With Me, was the base for this mani.  I made a couple stamper decals using Mezerdoo B3 using Funky Fingers Gesso as the stamped image, then filled in with Paint It Pretty Polish More Love, Less Paperwork and Painted Polish Stamped in Rose.  The pinky and middle are stamped using image from Konad m95; the thumb is MoYou Festive 20.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

On the final polish in the trio, Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limited, stamped using images from Lina Make Your Mark 03 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Paint It Pretty Polish Valentines Collection 2019

Paint It Pretty Polish is releasing a trio of Valentine's Day polishes on February 8th; they are oh so romantic looking and perfect colours for your Valentine's Day nails!  Not that they have to be used only for Valentine's; they are perfect for any time of the year!  These colours and finishes will never go out of style either; you'll be using them for years to come...that is til the bottle is finished anyway!

The trio of polishes in the Paint It Pretty Valentines Collection 2019** will be available here on February 8, 2019; they will retail for $10 each.

First up is Paint It Pretty Polish More Love, Less Paperwork.  Shown is two coats, no top coat.

Paint It Pretty More Love, Less Paperwork is a magenta base with a tiny drop of violet sparks and holo.

Topped with top coat.  There were no application issues; two coats gave good opaque coverage.  Easy removal and no nail staining.

The second of the three polishes is Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limits.  Shown with two coats, no top coat.

Love Without Limits is a light purplish pink with blue to pink shimmers.

There were no application or removal issues.  No nail staining was experienced.

While there was good coverage with two coats with Paint It Pretty Polish Love Without Limited, it was sheer enough to use for some layering and I'll be sharing more nails in an upcoming post so be sure to watch for it!

The final polish from the trio is Love Without Limits.  Shown is three coats, no top coat.  Two coats gave good coverage; however, if you've followed me for long, you know I'm not a fan of visible nail line and it can be exemplified with the lighting so added a third coat.

Paint It Pretty Polish Grow Old With Me is a light pink base with purple to red aurora shimmer with blue and aqua sparks and illusion gold flakies.

Topped with top coat.

For more pictures of these polishes, please check out the Paint It Pretty Polish instagram account here!

I used all of these polishes for some Valentine's Day nail art but as they don't have to be used just for Valentine's Day, I've also done some layering using Paint It Pretty Polish Grow Old With Me and Love Without Limits; I'll be sharing them in the upcoming days.

Thank you again to Sherri for giving me the opportunity to swatch these polishes!  It is greatly appreciated!
