Halloween Skittles!

Another quick Halloween mani of mummy nails.

Indoor with artificial light.

Konad white special polish using IP S06. Then dotted using white polish, finishing with black stones for eyes. Polishes used were, left to right starting with thumb: NYX Red Red, Misa Green with Envy; Zoya Savita matte, Color Club Bewitching and Color Club Spellbound, then topped with SV.

They don't really look scary mummies to me - they look like wonky birds or something due to the shape of my nails....good idea - poor execution!

Outside, overcast

Hey, they can't all be a success!

This is pix of my short right hand-actually stamped a little better!

FINALLY Get To Try My Isadora Crackle Polish+And Another Halloween Mani!

With Halloween only days away, I'm trying to get in as many Halloween mani's as possible!

This is NYX Red Red, stamped with Konad black special polish, fauxnad IP T23. (Edit: btw: red red isn't a typo-thats truly the name!! Here's a new pix - slightly better image so you see the stamping a little better...)

The pix aren't the greatest here but if you click on them-you'll see stamping and crackle better!

I was lucky enough to acquire Isadora crackle polish via a swap a few months ago, but wasn't able to use as my fellow swapper didn't receive their end of until recently (almost 2 months in transit!!) and good swapper etiquette calls that you don't use polishes until all received in good condition.

I thought the crackle would add an eery touch to this Halloween mani so added it to a couple of accent nails...I also think it would look awesome for a full mani for a vampy look for any Halloween costume! When applying the crackle, you need to apply it fast. A thin coat produces fine lines and a thicker coat creates a wider gap. It crackles almost instantly and dries matte-what you are seeing has a coat of SV on top.

While I was lucky enough to get this via a European swapper, it seems OPI is coming out with some crackle polish via the Serena Williams set, and I know I'll be stocking up ..... I'm sure my DD can't wait to use this either-the colour combos will be endless!

Oh, and before I forget, just before I removed yesterday's green Halloween mani, I applied a coat of Essie Matte About You....just another variation of the same mani-it was kinda cool!

Halloween Mani!

With Halloween coming up next week, its time to start rocking Hallowe'en nails.

This is Misa Green with Envy stamped with Konad black special polish, Konad IP m28.

Then did a funky french, adding Misa Disco Queen. The first images were taken during the wee hours of the morning and while I would have liked to finish it, I could not for the life of me get this glitter polish open. Even hubby's muscle couldn't open it; tried hot water, those grippers things, acetone in the threads, nadda.

As I just bought these polishes last week to use specifically for a Halloween mani, I took it back to the distributor I bought it from and they replaced no questions asked. Wahoo for customer service!

Happy Haunting and thx for looking!

Stars Galore!

Here's the last of the HB series plates; HB 36 to 40.

I'm loving these stars on plate HB39, especially the image on the index finger. I'm thinking at some point I'm just going to use this image and do a whole mani! Oh, the possibiliies are endless, I know!

Used my standby silver for stamping...Nicole by OPI Positive Energy.

Polish is Nina Ultra Pro Royal Purple. I'm in love with this...unfortunately as far as pictures go, it does photo on the blue side, but it is a deep glossy looking purple. While I'm not a nail expert, I believe it is a jelly finish...whatever it is, I'm lovin!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these plates and I look forward to seeing the designs my fellow bloggers have come up with if you have them!

China Glaze 2030 and Liquid Leather with HB31 Plate

Here's a quick pix of my latest mani: China Glaze Liquid Leather, using China Glaze 2030 on accent fingers; then stamped with 2030 for gold stamping and konad special polish in black. Unfortuantely, I couldn't get many great pix of mani but hopefully the jest will be seen with the one decent one I was able to capture!

And here's the next plates:

Here We Go Again: Fauxnad Plates HB26-HB30

Halloween is just a few short weeks away so of course, had to use plate hb26. Here's my pre-Halloween mani using the 2009 OPI Hallowe'en mini set.

Orange polish is Tattoo You Want Candy; black is Witch Arm which were both included in the set. There's also a blurple glow in the dark polish and white and a bunch of tatoos. Then stamped with fauxnad plate hb28. I also used fauxnad plates T13 and T28. I can't wait to use these plates again to create some more Halloween mani's in the upcoming weeks!

Used Konad black special polish and silver is Nicole by OPI in Positive Energy.
This image was taken in the sun, which is more colour accuarate but shows all those terrible hangnails and dry cuticles. I was at work and took this pix quickly without moisturing. :(

Butter London-The Full Monty and HB Plates 21-25

I spent today driving and antiquing in cottage country Ontario-seen lots of amazing fall folliage. Seen lots of forests, lots of lakes-its my favourite time of year! So it was easy to pick the image plate with the leaves on it for this fall mani!

It was a pleasant surprise a couple weeks ago when I went to Holt Renfew one day to get some Lippmann polishes that they also sell Butter London. My wallet wasn't very happy though as they are around $15 each. Anyway, in addition to some standard line polishes, I was able to get the recently released Victoriana, The Full Monty, Marrow, All Hail McQueen and a few others.

After swatching a few polishes to see what I was going to use for my fall leaf mani, I decided to use The Full Monty as the base colour. This first image is one coat and no clean up as the daylight was quickly fading and I wanted to capture a quick pix.

This next pix is two coats and then a coat of Essie Matte About You. I've tried most of the matte makers on the market; I by far like this one best as it gives the most matte! Pix isn't great as daylight was slowly fading....

Then stamped! Using fall leaves from image plate HB21! I used all Konad special polishes for stamping! And of course the red maple leaf had to be front and centre as, well, I am Canadian! A little subliminal tribute to my heritage....

This mani was a little challenging for me-a lot of cleanup of the scraper and the image plate as so many different colours were used, and so many times stamped using multiple colours. But I was happy with the end result.

Here's pix of the image plates-I'm loving all the image plates from 21-40. I so can't wait to use the coffee plates-nothing that I love more than my Tim Horton's triple triple! You know are a reguler when the ladies at the counter have your order ready before you order! And your dinner guests brings a fresh timmies instead of wine to dinner!

Feel free to click on pix for better image of plate!

(edit: I forgot to include hb24 in original post! Oops)

I want to add more pictures but I'm on the road again to see more beautiful fall folliage!
