Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving if you are celebrating today!  Hopefully you shared it with friends or family and your turkey was moist, the potatoes wonderfully whipped and your pie cooked perfectly!  (I've been watching too many episodes of Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay apparently lol!)

Long time, no post.  I know.  It saddens me too.  Life has been extremely busy and while I can't go into details, it has pretty much kept me from doing my nails much, never mind finding the time to do a blog post.  I have oodles of mani's in archives, like in the hundreds, but that still doesn't mean I have the time to post them.  So thanks for hanging around to check out my little blog and hopefully, I'll find time to share some more manis again!

I did these nails last weekend in the hopes I'd find some time to share them with my US nail pals; here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base using Fancy Gloss Golden Leaves, Sweet Potato and Sugar Maple and Essie On the Bright Cider, Fall for NYC and Hay There.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After making stamper decals for the thumb and middle using Delaney Autumne 003, applied them.  Using a layering image from UC Mini:  Hello Fall & Pumpkin Spice, applied it on the ring finger.  Did another layering nail on the pinky using CjS LS-57 using a few different MdU polishes.  The index finger was stamped first using BP-49 then double stamped using MM 23.  Used mainly MdU polishes for most nails.  I just love that thumb image; I had plans to do a mani with that image on all nails but just ran out of time as I've done so many other fall mani's!  Hopefully, next year!

Clear Jelly Stamper CjSLS-57.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget.

November 11th is Remembrance Day; the day we remember those who fought for our freedoms and those who continue to serve so that we continue to enjoy free liberties.

I've done a Remembrance Day mani every year that I've had the blog; it is a day that holds great meaning to me; not only because I am able to live in a free country but because my grandfather fought in WWII and the older I get, the more I appreciated that he and other soldiers fought and risked their lives so we have the freedoms we have today.

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Carey, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I knew I was doing a gradient but what I find is that if I don't do a top coat base before the gradient, that my polish starts to come off the nail when I'm sponging versus going on the nail so I found that it helped for the gradient if I top coated first, then do the sponged gradient.  I also wait a good 10 minutes or more to make sure the base and top coat are good and dry before sponging.

Did a sponged gradient using Zoya Carey and Barry M Grey.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped words from CjS H-26 using Konad red special polish.

Added poppies from Color Club Flower using same stamping polish.  You may note that the words on the thumb don't look the same as above.  That is because I tried to use a poppy image from the same CjS plate but didn't have that great of success lining up.  When I was removing the image which was at the tip of the nail, I also took off some words so had to restamp.  And didn't stamp it that well as you can see.

Dotted centers of poppies using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Another Fall Mani!

Even though we've had snow once and apparently more is on the way early in the week, it still is fall and in my area, I would say that until the really cold spell hit on Thursday or so, most of the leaves were still on the trees.  Then the cold spell hit on Wednesday night and most of the leaves fell that night.  Like all at once.  Then it snowed and still haven't got them off the lawn yet.  I sure do hope that we get a spell of good weather before winter does set in to get them raked and out of the eaves!

Anyway, I still have a few fall nails to share including this one; here's what I came up with!

Started with a skittle base, starting on thumb and going clockwise, Picture Polish Foxy, Picture Polish Pooh, Picture Polish Autumn, Noodles Polish Pumpkin Spice and Picture Polish Amber, no top coat.  All are two coats except the Noodles which was three.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 03 with an accent of Maniology M022 using MdU 9, 11, 32, 59, 106 and 107.

Added the veins of the leaves with the same stamping plate using MdU 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  It was too bad the middle finger had a little smear but sometimes, that's how it goes.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend; thanks for looking!

Sunflowers!

I wore these not too long ago; they are a good season transitional mani from summer to fall; bright enough to fall into a summer mani, but theme appropriate for fall.  Not that it matters as I wear what I want when I want.....here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Sunflower with an accent of Claire's Galaxy, no topcoat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Creative Shop 91 using Painted Polish Mischief.

Added a couple dots on accent nail (not very well!) using Picture Polish Sunflower.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for looking!
