Happy Chinese New Year!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!  (Late, sorry but I had these in draft and didn't realize they didn't post!)

I've been trying to do more themed nails and did these Chinese New Year nails over the weekend.  It's Year of the Ox!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats JReine Goldschlanger with accent nails of two coats Laquistry Chinese New Year.

Lacquistry Chinese New Year.  I remember when this came out, how hard it was to get a bottle but I finally snagged one at a restock.  And then never used it until now.  Why do we do that?  As I knowwww I'm not the only one.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After making stamper decals using image from Delaney Asiatique 001, applied them to the index and ring finger using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and Midnight Mischief.  Shadow stamped pinky using Maniology m044 using same polishes.  Stamped middle finger using MoYou London Zodiac 14 (numbers), Maniology M083 (words on middle) and MoYou London Zodiac 14 (thumb).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did my hand slightly different; stamped Lesly LS-51 using PP Blanc Slate on a layered base of ees Knees Every 27 Years on a base of Sally Hansen CSM Red My Lips.  This was appropriate at the time as I did these nails on February 13th.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

I know I'm a few days late but thought I would share them anyway!  No other time that a rat will be on my nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Black Onyx, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sally Hansen Cherry Delight; all two coats, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had premade a couple stamper decals for the index and middle fingers using Sugar Bubbles SB 043 and Maniology M083 respectively.  Also used MoYou Zodiac 13 (pinky and thumb), Maniology M044 (symbol on ring) and Maniology M083 again for the words on the ring finger.  Stamping polishes used are Konad red special polish, Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Hit the Bottle To Have and to Gold including for the shadow stamping.

Added a few blossoms on the middle finger using Maniology M083, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added a few dots for filler and interest using Konad red special polish and Hit the Bottle To Have and to Gold.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!  Sorry, I'm a couple days late!  It's the Year of the Rooster; here's what I came up with!

I did some marble drips with the thought in mind that it would be mainly red, with thin lines of marble of black and glitter butttttt they didn't turn out like that.  Too much black for the most part and just wasn't what I had in mind.  Hey, sometimes that happens.  Used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red My Lips, OPI Black Onyx and Parrot Polish White Gold.

Applied the decals and tried to clean up that darn red as best as I could!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using Bundle Monster BM-S230 (index), BM-S228 (upper images on ring), BM-H15 (lower images on ring), and MoYou Zodiac Collection-22 (pinky, middle and thumb).  Used CND Gold Chrome as the stamping polish.

I did my other hand slightly different; liked how it turned out too!

This didn't turn out exactly what I had in mind but OK I think in the end!

Happy Chinese New Year!!

Gung Hay Fat Choy!!

I haven't had a mani be a monkey's butt in a while but this is one that I almost threw my hands up in the air and said, oh well, it wasn't meant to be!  It's not exactly as I wanted but I thought I was share none the less because they can't all be good ones and my blog has always been about me keeping track of my mani's...the good, the bad and the ugly!

Started with a base of two coats of Duri Taming of the Shrew and top coated, and one coat of OPI Love. Music. Angel. Baby., no top coat.

I knew I wanted a specific horse image for Year of the Horse, but couldn't remember what plate it was on. After going through my plate stash for about 45 minutes, finally found it...of course, it was around the last 30 plates I had to check.  (It took me longer to find the plate than it did to do the removal, prep and paint my base for the stamping!).  But I eventually found it...only to have a terrible time stamping it.  Not the image plates fault, but my fault....after three attempts of stamping and two removals, I finally got it placed somewhat where I wanted on the middle finger.  Then placing the individual numbers for the year at the bottom under the horse...do not get me started.....

The image plates used were fauxnad m94 (horse on middle), Handy 57 (numbers on middle), Handy N6 (thumb) and BM-H15 (index, ring and pinky), stamped using black Konad special polish.

I had a terrible time with the thumb image too; not the plates fault but mine.  The image is pretty large and it's a tight fit on my thumb nail and I had to removal and stamp three times before I got it right so that all the words fit.  I wasn't as light handed as I should have been so I rubbed away a little of the base on one of the removals.  Then, somewhere along the line, I nicked the ring finger, but I touched it up with polish and top coated, but that is why there is no view of the sand finish without topcoat.  I really wanted to add other images I had set aside to go along with this, but I was fed up at this point and just top coated and called it a day.

All in all, considering the frustration I had, I suppose it didn't turn out half bad but it just wasn't what I had in mind nor the end result that I was wanting. The more I look at it too, I wish I had have jazzed it up a bit as I intended with symbol characters or dots or something because it needs something more to me.  But as I've said many times, it's just polish and a bit of remover and tomorrow is another nail day!

Have a fantastic weekend....and the giveaway winner didn't respond within the 48 hours so I'll be sending out another email to an alternate winner soon!
