Floral Nails Perfect for Spring!

Another floral phase mani from when I was hoping spring was right around the corner, but am still waiting for it!  Here's to hoping it arrives any day now; weather wise, not just the fact that it has passed on the calendar!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Melody, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped dots using Lina Feeling Shapely! 02 and Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 02 on the rest of the nails using MdU 1 and 65.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought this would be a perfect mani to matte to see the gold flakies better, so the next day I added a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.

I think it looks great either way but I think I might like it slightly better with the matte top coat.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

PS:  Seeing this mani and a few others, I think I went through a dot phase too!  If you read the posts, that's dots, butterflies and flowers phases!  Watch for them!

Digit-al Dozen Does Tropical; Day 2

This is my day 2 mani for Digit-al Dozen tropical challenge.  I have to admit, these are a little unusual for tropical nails but I was striving for something different/thinking outside of the box so these were done intentionally to be different.  And my best shadow stamping to date if I don't say so myself; I was really pleased how the shadow stamping turned out even though I had to do 3 fingers twice hahaha.  Anyway, hopefully you enjoy Day 2 of the tropical theme!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Fair Maiden Polish You Got It Dude! from May 2018 Polish Pick Up. The brights and flaky lover in me absolutely adores this polish and I was really happy to add it to my stash!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Did these tropical hibiscus nails with colours that I thought would compliment the base polish as I see light purple shimmer flash in the base.  First stamped the image using MdU 60, then double stamped using MdU 73 using an image from BM-318.  I didn't take pix of just the lilac polish as I double stamped each nail as I went versus doing all then them the one colour then the second stamping because these MdU polishes can be skin stainers and I didn't want to have any issue.  Plus because I did double stamping of all nails using different parts of the image, wanted to immediately double stamp so the placement was fresh in my mind. Ha...sign of old age that is lol (middle age anyway!)!

Digital-Dozen Does In My Garden; Day 4

I'm slowly getting my Digit-al Dozen posts up so please bear with me while I plod through them!  This is what I came up with for my day 4 nails!  I do not have hibiscus in my garden but I pass by a garden in my neighbourhood on a regular basis that has a couple hibiscus trees and I stop and admire them on a regular basis and take pictures (they know this, in fact, they sometimes even chat with me while I'm admiring their garden). This is what I came up with!

Did a sponged gradient using Butter London Sunnies, Trout Pond and Macbeth.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using UberChic UC 7-01 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Shadow stamped (or at least attempted!) using same image and FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Here's a picture I took of the neighbour's hibiscus tree!

Crows!

These nails were loosely inspired by a book that I read not too long ago, The Tenth Circle by Jody Picoult. I had read it a few weeks before Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres and was going to share it then...but then really didn't think the nails were that relevant to the book so didn't share (if that makes sense lol).  But in the book, the father character recalls several instances when crows (or blackbirds) are present at certain times in his life and that stood out for me when I was reading the book.  So when I sat down to do my nails shortly after reading the book and seen a couple plates with crows of them, I decided to use crows in my mani; this is what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy decal using OPI I'll Have A Gin & Tectonic, China Glaze I Just Cant-alope, OPI Krona-logical, Quo by Orly Nude, China Glaze Tis The Sea-sun and FunkyFingers Gesso.  (Another dogs breakfast look to me lol).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Creative Shop 57 (thumb), Creative Shop 31 (index and middle) and Creative Shop 38 (ring and pinky) using FunkyFingers Dark Knight. Can you tell that the thumb is a reflection?  The image barely fit my nails so to me, it's not overly obvious.

I like the look of just these four fingers as to me, it just tells a different story.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Just the four fingers top coated.

I also have to admit; every time I see crows, I always think of Lauri at CrowsToes (Polish); don't you?

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  We are redoing fashion which was a theme we did way back in August 2013. For Day 1's look, I did my nails to match a shirt I had just bought; it's not high fashion by any means but went well with my outfit!  Here's what I came up with!

This the design on the shirt that I was matching my nails to!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits SBP 05.11.1 (forgot to take pix), then did sponged gradient using Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero and Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using MoYou Tropical Collection-18 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.  I find the MoYou plates work well with the clear stampers so placed the images using the DRK clear stamper to help with placement.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Summer Bright Nails!

I know this mani is easy peasy but I love how simple stamping can be and there are a lot of days when easy peasy is just what I need with my hectic life!

Started with a base of two coats of Illamasqua Lament, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

For the easy peasy stamping, used an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  I love this image and have used it a couple times now but it kinda freaks me out as it looks so much like an eyeball! Might be cool for some Halloween/scary mani's though!

Hope you're having a great week; thanks for looking!

Pahlish Test Batch: Canyon Sunrise

A gal in the Pahlish FB group had posted a few mystery Pahlishes and I absolutely fell in love with one of them.  Little did I know at the time that I had one on the way to me from buying my own Pahlish mysteries so you would not believe how excited I was when my package arrived and I discovered I too got a bottle! (And low and behold I even got a backup bottle when I bought another mystery as yet another bottle was sent while the first one was in transit!)  This is Pahlish Test Batch:  Canyon Sunrise!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Test Batch:  Canyon Sunrise, no top coat.  There is a very slight holographic to this dusty coral.  There were no application or clean up issues.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from BundleMonster BM-XL206 using FunkyFingers Gesso placing it a little bit different on each finger.

BundleMonster BM-XL206

While not overly obvious, added a little glitter sparkle using Sally Hansen Shake Shake then topped it all off with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I think this will be an interesting polish as a base for some brown, mustard yellow or even some interesting greens stamped during the fall.  Lots of possibilities even thought this isn't your typical colour!
