More Snowflakes!

I seem to have a penchant for doing blue nails and snowflakes so unfortunately, you'll have to suffer through a few more of them over the course of the winter including this one!

Started with a base of two coats of BCB Lacquers Azarath Metrion Zinthose! HHC May 2023 plus extra at the tips.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using UberChic UC Let It Snow using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Let It Snow!

Snow is in the forecast today so I thought I could share a snowflake mani.  I did these last year (snow many snowflakes nails; snow time to share them).  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Easy Paris Cosmetics 037, no top coat.  I bought this polish and a few others when I was in Portugel on holiday.  They were very inexpensive, just one euro or a little over $2 CAD with exchange and you don't see that price often nowadays for any polish!  They really aren't unique but I was happy to have bought them as I likely won't be in Europe again and it was cool to have bought something not available here (at least, that I know of lol).

Topped accent nails with Nailed It Dragon Dance, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped images from Creative Shop 182 Basic (thumb, index and pinky), UberChic UC Let It Snow (middle) and UC It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas (ring) using MdU 68.

Shadow stamped the middle and ring finger using same plates, then added snowflakes on thumb, index and pinky from UC Let It Snow using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  The shadow stamping wasn't that much on point on the ring finger but sometimes that how it goes.

UberChic UC Let It Snow .  If you are looking for a plate with a lot of different snowflake images, this is it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I did these nails for Canadian Thanksgiving this year in October; however, life was busy and I wasn't able to post them then, so am posting them today for US Thanksgiving.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie Lace Me Up, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Dixie Plates Autumn 03.

Stamped using Clear Jelly Stamper CjS LC-56 (pinky and index), CjS LC-57 (pumpkin and flower on thumb), Dixie Plates Autumn 03 (middle and ring), UberChic UC mini: Hello Fall and Pumpkin Spice (words on thumb) using MdU 52, 53 and 50.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Happy Thanksgiving if you are celebrating today!

Brush Gradient or Ombre Nails?

I seen a few manis on IG that dot polish on the nails and with a gradient bush, do brush strokes down to create a gradient and although I don't have a gradient brush, I thought if I did faint enough brush strokes, it would work.  It didn't turn out as nice as other manis that I've seen but it's not the worst I've ever done so here's how it turned out.

Here is the start of the nails; on the pinky, you can see the assortment of colours, then you take a brush and pull the polishes down.  In the one mani that I saved, there was an assortment of nail dots dabbed on the nail and then a brush used to drag the polish verticially down the nail.  The tag said ombre nails, but I'm not sure this is the correct name for the method.  Used China Glaze Blue Raspberry Ice, Zoya Darcy and Josie, China Glaze Tan-Burr-ine, and Orly Hot Pursuit.

It turns out like this!  This isn't as successful as other mani's that I've seen and since I did these nails, I ordered a graident bush and will try using it next time as I used a fan brush.  The middle finger was really the only successful one but I went with it anyway.

Finger Angel V17

Stamped image from Finger Angel-V17 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Here's some screenshots from the mani that I was inspired by.

The IG account is @monika_szurmiej_nail_educator and she tags it as ombre nails but again, not sure this is the correct method as there are no manis like it when you look through the tags.  I even used translator and couldn't find anything.  If anyone knows, please share with me!

Gradient Burst

I did this radial gradient after not having done one for quite a long time and was really happy how it turned out.  It was too bad that the radial gradient wasn't more obvious once the stamping was added or that the stamping wasn't more centered but all in all, I wasn't mad about them.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Pink-ing of You, two coats.

Added a coat of topcoat and waited about 10 minutes for it to dry.  I always topcoat the basecoat of my gradients as I find otherwise, the base sometimes gets sponged off and that's no good, so always take this time for the topcoat to dry before sponging.

Did a radial sponged gradient using OPI Pink-ing of You and Morgan Taylor Shock Therapy.

The gradient really popped when it was topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic UC 29-03 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I did a pretty good job of centering the stamping on the thumb and because the burst was centered, could see the radient gradient better.

I did a better job of stamping on Ms. Cindy; please excuse the cuticles!
