......baby one more time

It's funny where you can get the inspiration for mani's sometimes.  I was going through some IG accounts checking out some sites that had music on them for inspiration and came across Britney Spears video of .....baby one more time, amoungst others.  Then, when I sat down to do Back to School nails last night, I seen the one uniform image on one of the plates that I thought kinda looked like the uniform that Britney wore in the video (with some liberties, of course!) and then I thought, hey, I have a plate with some Britney images on them...and this weeks #MusicManiMonday was born, I just had to execute it.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish White Pop and Nicole by OPI Naturally, no top coat.

Topped the Cupcake Polish with Seche Diamond Dust, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using NOPI Naturally and Color Club All That Razz.  Earlier, I had made a couple stamper decals from Beauty Big Bang City-XL001 and applied them on the thumb and pinky.  Used MdU 13 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief for the decal on the pinky and MdU 73 and 91 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief on the thumb, as well as Painted Polish Blanc Slate for the uniform shirt.

Added rest of the images from Journails by NiinasNails Women in Music using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief  and MdU 29.  I shrunk all images from this plate and I seriously cannot believe how good I shadow stamped the middle image considering I shrunk the image and both times, they shrunk to the same size and THEN!, I shadow stamped it to perfection.  I was so exciting; I never do this good of a line up so I was super stoked about this win!  Also added a few hearts from the same Beauty Big Bang plate mentioned above.  It was too bad I didn't position it slightly better so it was all on the nail, but I'll still take it as a win!

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did some research on the video .....baby one more time prior to doing this mani; watched the video several times and urge you to go check it out as the nails may make more sense!  But if you don't, this is the album cover that had Britney's break out hit, which was used on the ring finger.

Here's Britney in that famous school hall scene in her uniform; used for the thumb inspiration with a little creative liberty.

This image is from near the end of the video when she's in the gym sitting on the bleachers with a basketball, which was inspiration for the pinky.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks #MusicManiMonday and thanks for looking!

One Little Fiber

One little fiber wrecked this mani.  It's too bad I didn't notice it earlier and could have removed it before I took all the pictures for these nails, but it is what it is.

Started with a base of Cupcake Polish Suitor on a Scooter, two coats, no top coat.  I love this holo; it is a great shade of blue; not too dark, not too light and has oodles of holo in it!  Holo all the days!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Moyra 21-Retro, using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Happy New Year's Eve Eve!

The new year is almost upon us and it's New Year's Eve eve!

Clear Jelly Stamper H-48

Started with a base of a very light coat of Pahlish La Befana over Cupcake Polish White Pop.  I love the looks of this; it is neutral, yet classy, it was my go to look when I was on vacation.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using a few image plates; Chez Delaney Fete 002 (thumb), Sugar Bubbles SBS 25 on index and pinky and CjS H-48 on the rest.  Stamping polishes are Used CjS 20, 062 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  Shadow stamped some of the images for interest.

Topped using KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

As we move towards the new year, all the best to you and yours in 2025!

Thanks for looking!

Almost Invisible Flakes!

I had a vision of what I wanted this to look like and while these nails turned out OK, it wasn't as good as what I had envisioned.  But that's OK: the great thing about using regular polish is that it can easily come off and you can have new designs on your nails in no time!  Even though I wasn't thrilled how these turned out, I still share my fails as they may serve as inspiration for someone else.  Here's what I came up with!  Also,, I do apologize; this was when my nails weren't the best; I was still doing my nails but they aren't the prettiest!

Started with a base of Cupcake Polish White Pop, topped with a coat of Mooncat Curiosity's Prey, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Nicole Diary L32 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Oh, Baby!

It's hard to believe that I did these nails over two years ago and life has changed so much since then!  I did them for the shower of my first grandchild and at the time, it wasn't known if it would be a boy or girl; hence, the pink and blue colouring.  In December 2022, a little girl was born and just a couple weeks ago, she was joined by a little brother, so I thought I should share these nails before they are teenagers!  Here's what I came up with!

Nicole Diary-L46

Started with the most perfect gender revealing base, Cupcake Polish The Ton (HHC October 2022), two thin coats over a base of Polished For Days White Soft Blur, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MoYou Festive 70 (thumb and middle), Nicole Diary-L46 (index) and UberChic UC Little Baby (pinky and ring); the bottle and face on the ring finger were shrunken.  Used  MdU 15 and 91 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did the other hand slightly different by shadow stamping a bunch of images.

Happy 2024!

2024 is here!  Happy New Year!

Started with a base of Painted Polish Dreaming In Polish, on two coats of Cupcake Polish White Pop, no topcoat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After making stamper decals using images from SugarBubbles SBS031, applied them to the nail.  Used Painted Polish Midnight Mischief for the outline, then filled in using MdU 26, 50, 83 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

SBS031

Shadow stamped words on thumb and numbers on ring using MdU 83 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate using images from Powder Perfect Celebration 1.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  I want to point out the letter E on the thumb in the word 'New".  See the picture above, the letter is perfect.  That's because I stamped it and it was.  Then I got up and got a glass of water and somewhere along the lines, the E fell off the nail.  So I stamped a replacement and it too was perfect.  Except when I went to top coat it, it folded.  I'm like, are you kidding me?!?  So I stamped it again and it's not so clear as the folded E is still there and I didn't want to risk trying to remove it because those letters are so darn small.

Thanks for looking and all the best in 2024!
