Dotty for Fall!

Here's another fall mani; I love how neutral it looks with even muted pops of colour; really different from the rest of the fall nails I've shared so far.  I was pretty happy too because every polish used for this mani is regular nail polish; nice to see that you don't always have to use 'stamping polishes' to create cool nails.  (Nail pictures have been taken in shade and sun; they are interchanged in the post in case you wonder why the polishes/skin tone is slightly different.)  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Insta-dri Sand Storm; two coats, no top coat.

Stamped using UberChic Lovely Leaves.  The thumb is KleanColor Fashionista with Sally Hansen Insta-dri polishes Lightning, Lickety-Split Lime, Snappy Sorbet and an unnamed red.  The rest of the fingers stamped with KleanColor Military Green and Fashionista.  Shown topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I didn't mind this but you know me; busy nails is my middle name!  So added dots using same Sally Hansen Insta-dri polishes; also added some more leaf dots to the thumb.  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I like the dot version slightly better than the muted neutrals but all in all, really liked how both of them turned out!

I still haven't seen any leaves turning colour yet; but I expect it will happen in the next few weeks!

Have a wonderful weekend.

LynBDesigns Riddikulus

This was one of the polishes I bought at Indie Expo Canada 2018; LynBDesigns Riddikulus (or Riddi-Kulus as it shows on the label) and don't know why it took me so long to wear it!  I thought some copper stamping would compliment it well; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of one coat of LynBDesigns Riddikulus, no top coat.  No, that is not a typo; one coat is good coverage.  Loads of flakies and shimmer in this one but there were no issues with removal.

LynBDesigns Riddikulus is still available here along with many other creations!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Marianne Nails Professional n.4 using Hit The Bottle Copper Haired Girl.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Decided to add matte topcoat as I have been matting all the things lately; added My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.

Speaking of IEC 2018 and polishes I picked up, I don't think I ever shared my haul; here are the polishes I bought (or GWP as in the case of the Girly Bits tumbler and the Turtle Tootsies turtle and pen; pix does not include any press samples.  Also, please disregard tools in the background; the weekend while I was at IEC 2018, the hubs was home repairing our backyard fencing that had blown over in a heavy wind storm a couple weeks before.) #ISupportIndiePolish

I have since used a few of these polish but unfortunately, most are still untrieds.  Hopefully some time soon, I'll remedy that!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

More Fall Leaves!

I love, love, love, love how this turned out!  I've been doing some layering lately experimenting with some untrieds as well as trying to come up with some interesting nail art bases when I don't really have a lot of time to do something spectacular that takes hours of work as I simply don't have that time right now....hoping it just looks like it did when it was short and sweet!  But these fall skittles with the flakies on top are giving me all the fall feels and I was really happy how these turned out; I even wore them for a few days which is not typical for me!  Here's what I came up with!

Started out with a base of skittles in fall colours; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  Girly Bits Another Brick in the Fall, Sally Hansen CSM Butterscotch, CND Vinylux Gypsy, Girly Bits It's Near Leaf All and CND Vinylux Offbeat.

Topped with DRK Baila Comigo Colecao Rita Lee.nada (this is entire contents of bottom label; it could be more than the name, I'm not really sure, sorry.)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 02 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next day (or even too, I can't remember, sorry) added a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte. The lighting isn't the best in the bathroom where I took the pix but it seemed to be the best lighting to see all the colours in the flakies!

I'm on the fence which I like better; glossy or matte.  They both have appeal to me.  What do you think?

Blue Stripes & Stars

I got some star and stripes vibes from this mani and am going to be using it as inspiration for a 4th of July mani at some time!  But even if no star and stripes vibes, I was still pretty happy how this turned out as love how the colours complimented one another as well as the double stamping! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Breezi, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Seche Diamond Dust then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped the stripes from UberChic UC15-02 using Sally Hansen Insta-dri Set Sail, then double stamped the stars using an image from UberChic UC 10-03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  And FYI, I know the stripes on the middle nail are crooked.  This was my second attempt at them as the first time wasn't as straight as I would have liked.  After the second attempt, I was like, it's meant to be, so left it. And not that obvious IRL, just here due to the angle of the hand pose!

Fall Leaves!

We have typical fall weather today; a little on the cool side, light showers and/or overcast skies.  I have a few fall nails that I've done in the last couple of weeks so I'm going to mingle them with other manis as I appreciate not everyone is experiencing fall weather.  We don't even have that much of the leaves changing colour yet but I'm sure it is just around the corner!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of one coat of Zoya Tilda, then did a sponged gradient using Zoya Tilda and Shawn.  My apologies, this isn't the best gradient I 've done.  I didn't notice until I had already removed the latex barrier that not all fingers were even in darkness of the gradient but it didn't look this obvious in real life; I didn't notice until I was taking pictures.  I was too lazy to reapply the latex barrier and add to the gradient, so decided to live with it.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Delaney Feuillages A001 using MdU 32, 66 and 46.

This was my other hand; I alternated the two Zoyas and did the same stamping, which did show up a little better on Zoya Shawn.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Red & Black Go So Well Together!

I got to thinking that there aren't many nail studs being shared lately; I don't know why because I still love using them!  I think I picked studs just a little too big for my nails in this mani but still love how this turned out!  I love that I can paint them too to colour coordinate my nails well!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Adam Said, It's New Years, Eve, OPI Black Onyx and Dance Legend Wow Prism Danger, Danger.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with Color Club Illusion using FunkyFingers Dark Knight. Thank goodness for CJS to help with placement!

Added another coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After painting nail studs using the two OPI polishes, added on nails for interest.

Topped them off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to secure.

Happy Fall, Y'All!

This post is scheduled to go live a couple minutes after the official arrival of fall.  I've resisted doing fall nails as we have had such hot weather but now that fall is officially here, I guess the time has come to start doing them!  I still have spring and summer nails to share never mind fall so I'm not sure how many fall mani's will be shared but I do have a few!  This is a mani that I recycled and wore for a few days; I did the base and wore it one day and while I was wearing it I was thinking that I had have wished I had have stamped spider webs versus the pattern that I did.  Then I thought that the first stamped image just lends itself to double stamping and thought some Halloween images would be good.  But really want to do a spider web base first so so went with leaves...that plus fall is before Halloween so I still have time to do Halloween nails! And who says there's no thought into doing nails; sometimes it take me longer to plan the mani then to do the nails themselves...in fact, most of the time, that is how it is!   Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Color Club Lunar Logic, a $3.99 Winners find.  Shown with no topcoat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with MJ XLV using KleanColor Metallic Black.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Thought with the speckled base of the Color Club and the hint of silver in the stamping that this would look good matte; topped with My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.

The next day, added turning leaves using an image from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 02.  Stamping polishes used starting at thumb and going clockwise:  MdU 11, Mdu 9, Mdu 59, Mdu 53 and Mdu 66.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Thought this would look better matte again, so added another coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.

I loved how this turned out; one of my favourite mani's in quite some time!

Happy Fall Y'all!  Enjoy the cooler temperatures, pumpkin all the things, sweaters, apple cider and all the other fall related items!
