Blue Lagoon

These nails remind me of the tranquil blue waters of the Caribbean.  Even thought it's summer here in Canada and we have warm weather, warm water and even stunning blue waters in some lakes, I still long to swim in the Caribbean, especially snorkeling while looking at the vibrant fish and hoping to see turtles!

Started with a base of OPI NFTease Me, two coats over a base of Cupcake White Pop, no top coat.

Topped with one thin coat Ribbits Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark.  I love the vibrant blue flakies!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Hit the Bottle To Boldly Go 01 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Added dots for interest and filler with OPI My Pal Joey and MoYou Dream Holiday.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Round and Round

It's #MusicManiMonday and here's another circle mani.  Circles are round; the tribute song is Round and Round by Ratt.  I can remember this song playing on Good Rockin' Tonite when which was hosted by Terry David Mulligan back in the day.  I watched it faithfully every Friday night for a lot of years.  I'm sure this ages me but such is life; it happened lol.

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Music is My Muse.  Such a nice colour but not a great formula.

Had to topcoat is to cover the patches, so topped with Fancy Gloss Let's Be Friends (PPU April 2021).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to add matte top coat.  Those flakies POP!

Sunlight outside and the flakies be popping still!

Squiggles

I did these nails a long time ago; over 7 years and unfortunately, didn't make note of which polishes were used, or I deleted the note by accident.  I do know some of the items used, just not everything.  I'm going to share them anyway just for funsies lol.

I don't recall which base polish is used and can't place the bottle to know, but any rich, deep purple like Morgan Taylor Anime-Zing Color or Powers of Persuasion would work.  I know it is topped with Kleancolor Chunky Purple Holo, which was making the rounds around that time. I'm not sure why it's called 'Chunky Purple Holo'.  It's not chunky, purple, or holo.

Top coated.  I know I did this on while at my weekend place and didn't have all my nail supplies so I had visited the local drugstore and picked up what I could find.  Odd I didn't have top coat, yet had stamping plates and polishes lol .  Priorities!

I did a stamped gradient using white, pink and purple stamping polishes; I don't have the notes and don't want to mislead anyone.  The plate is Sugar Bubbles SB 040, which I do recognize as a favourite to use as it is an interesting image, yet lets the base polishes shine through!  Top coated again.

This picture was taken in shaded natural light to let the glitter in the Kleancolor shine.

Sunlight.  Pretty sure I wasn't using no smear top coat then lol.

Thanks for looking.  And don't worry; I don't do many of these type of posts as I have so many notes of polishes and plates used for mani's, even older than this.  I don't know what happened.  I suppose I could have not shared, but I thought the mani too cool not to share.

The Chains!

Raise your hand if you have an Amazon playlist? ✋ I don't know how popular they are but I know for me, I really appreciate having it because there is nothing better than having all your favourite songs in one place, that you can play on repeat!  Love it!  It's on frequent play when I'm doing my nails.  And do you know what my number 1 spot song is?   Drumrolllll:  The Chains by Fleetwood Mac.  Love it!  So these nails for #MusicManiMonday are inspired by my #1 spot song on my playlist.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Maren, no top coat.

While stun-ning, one of my favourite things to do is layer polishes, so added a coat of Glam Polish Part of Your World, no top coat.  Stun-ning-er lol!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Infinity 157 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Topped with another coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next day, added a coat of Essie Matte About You to show off the flakies.

Outdoor, overcast skies makes flakies POP, so here are a couple pix outside to show them off!

Do you prefer glossy or matte?  Please let me know in the comments!

Thermal Teal Flakies!

I have a few thermal polishes, although I don't wear them often because I find my nails are usually cold, therefore, there isn't much transition when I wear them.  In fact, for the few thermal polishes I have, I usually ensure that I like the cold version of them as I never expect to see the warm transition and I was shocked that it actually happened when I wore this one.

Started with a base of Models Own Hyper Gel Teal, two coats, no top coat.

Topped with Fancy Gloss The Toxic B*tch, 1 coat, from PPU June 2020.  To note, I did these nails in March 2022, so the polish was almost 2 years old, yet still transitioned.  Well done, Fancy Gloss!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Moyra 39-Eastern Mystic using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Here's a few pictures of the thermal transition.  I finally had a thermal gradient!  This was really the only nail that transitioned; the others I'm shared were forced with my nail dryer.
