Valentine Hearts!

I have a few Valentine's Day manis to share before the day of love arrives!  As in the past, I try to do some untypical holiday mani's to shake things up a bit!  This is one that, believe it or not, started by me observing an army green car on my way to work and I decided right there that army green nails were going on that night! That turned into a Valentine's Day mani with some unusual colours; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Butter London British Khaki (creme on ring and index), Painted Polish Lotus Love (middle) and Different Dimension Mystery Prototype 90 (thumb and pinky).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Kelli Negri KN12 (thumb) and Bunny Nails HD-B on the rest of the nails using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Added random little hearts using image from UberChic Love & Marriage 02 using MdU 46; also added a couple more rows of hearts on the pinky and middle using same image from HD-B and MdU 46 and FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  Also stamped same image from KN 12 using MdU 46 but just added the heart in the middle on the thumb.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I love how this turned out; I also love how you can take some not so typical Valentine's Day colours and turn it into a Valentine's Day mani!

Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Colourful Valentine Hearts!

I can't believe that Valentine's Day is right around the corner; I have a few mani's yet to share so hopefully I get them all posted before the 14th!  Here's one I did not too long ago...it's not so obvious to be a Valentine's mani that I suppose I could have shared it after but was so happy how it turned out; I had to share now!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Painted Polish Gray Goddess, no top coat.  I love this as a base coat; light enough that you stamp black over it and it shows up well, but also dark enough that light colours who up so well too!  Plus holo! And sparkle! Yes, please!

Using the Clear Jelly Big Bling XL Stamper for placement, stamped an image from Kelly Negri KN 12 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.  I have used this image many times as I love to use it as the base stamped image for double stamping like I'm going to share next.  I also wanted to do something along these lines with Cupid's but ran out of time....next year!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

With the use of the stamper, even managed to stamp Ms. Cindy well!

Stamped skittle hearts using image from Simplism Style-08; starting at thumb and going clockwise, polished used:  MdU 11, MdU 60, MdU 52, Painted Polish Stamped in Rose and Mdu 42.  Again, thank you Clear Jelly Big Bling XL stamper which helped greatly for placement!

Eeep!  I even stamped Ms. Cindy well, again thanks to the Clear Jelly Big Bling XL stamper!  I think that I stamped this hand better overall then my posting hand! I even triple stamped the middle finger because the first pink heart I stamped didn't show up that well so stamped on top of it with lighter pink.

Ms. Cindy with final coat of top coat as well.

Thanks for looking!

Purple Valentine Hearts!

Here's another Valentine's Day mani!  This didn't turn out quite as I had envisioned in my head (well, do they ever? lol).  Not that I don't mind it but it's not the best mani I've ever done by any means.  I think that if all the stamping had gradiented (is that a word?) like the middle, I would have liked it better, but alas, they never.  Not the worst mani I've ever did either but again, just had higher expectations of how I thought it was going to turn out. Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Ever After Polish Burning Twilight, no top coat.  Such a gorgeous polish and just loving the flakies!  I cannot believe I haven't worn it until now!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a stamped gradient using Painted Polish Autumn Twilight 2.0, MdU 64 and MdU 1 using an image from Kelly Negri KN12 and unnamed accent.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

St. Patrick's Day Nails!

I have a few St. Patrick's Day nails to share; I planned on sharing all next week but just realized it will interfere with Digit-al Dozen week and the likelihood I'll share two mani's every day all week is slim to nil so I thought I had better get to sharing them if I'm going to!  This is my favourite of the bunch so they are all going to be downhill from here!  Just joking; the rest aren't that bad, it's just this happens to be my favourite! Here's what I came up with!

A couple weeks ago in preparation of doing St. Patrick's Day nails, I pulled a bunch of greens from my stash.  Then I pulled a few of them for a smooshy mani.

This is what became of my smooshy from the polishes above.  I was trying for mainly lighter greens with just a smidgen of dark for contrast.  I'm still learning this method; while it is easy peasy to do, I have a tendency to use way too much polish on the stamper so need to gear it down a bit for future attempts.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Dark Knight using an image from KN 12.

I had made stamper decals using images from Messy Mansion MM04 (hat and pot of gold) and Wistonia W105 (mug).

Applied stamper decals in centre, then stamped on images from Bunny Nails HD-B (index) and MM04 (ring).  Unfortunately, the black solid didn't show up as well as I would have liked; maybe if I do this design again, I'll do dark or light green.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did a coat of OPI matte in case it showed up the designs a little better with a little less glare!

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Black; Day 3

These are the coolest nails I've done in a while..... to me, anyway!  They were suppose to be off beat Valentine's Day nails but I decided to share as part of Digit-al Dozen week with the theme of black instead. With it being so close to Vday, they are still relevant anyway!  But I do think these could be worn any time of the year because honestly, do hearts or skittles ever go out of season?  Here's what I came up with!

This is my second ever smooshy stamper mani...I actually did these a few days after my first smooshy when I thought skittle smooshies might be cool.

It took me longer to pick out all the polishes than actually do the smooshy!  Here they all are sorted by colour; there were so many, I didn't make note of them, sorry.  Just tried to get light, medium and dark shades of blue, yellow, pink, purple and green with the mandatory add of white for some contrast interest.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.  So cool; I could use this is a base for so many different stamping images!  This will be my go faux water marbling look as I have no skill in water marbling lol!

Stamped using an image from Kelly Negri KN12 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

I actually thought the above nails were pret-ty cool but decided to do some double stamping as I was doing Vday mani's at the time I did these and was in a Valentine's state of mind!  Picked a heart from MoYou Pro 09 and stamped in the middle of each nail (well, as best as I could; still not perfect even with clear stamper!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  I'm terribly sorry; I don't have a great pix of this as there's either lots of top coat glare or the pix was fuzzy.  Hopefully you can still see how cool this was!

Not as much glare but not the clearest :(

Here's the other ladies Day 3 nails!
