Shadow, Shadow Stamping!?!

I think this was a good mani in theory but pretty much a fail in practise but I think it's cool none the less!  I had this idea to do triple stamping but in shadow method so thought I would give it a try!  I did OK on a couple nails and not so good on others but still OK overall I think!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Oh Joy! It's a Boy!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 3 using an image from UberChic UC1-02.

Shadow stamped using same image from UC 1-02 using MdU 1.

Then stamped again (shadow, shadow stamping?) using MdU 3 again.  This was the most successful nail I think, at least you can make out the three stamps side by side versus slightly off.  Not perfect, but you can see the intent anyway lol.

The entire hand; index finger stamped pretty good too.  The rest are just a hot mess lol.  Even with a clear jelly stamper, cannot get it right!   I think part of the problem was that this is a pretty busy image and it was pretty ambitious to shadow stamp once, never mind a second time.  The rest of the nails look cool none the less like abstract art I think just not the shadow/shadow look that was intended!

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Floral

TGIF!  While I'm always happy to see the arrival of the weekend, this is one week when I didn't think it would ever get here!  Work has pretty much kicked my butt this week; been working long hours and not doing much else; not even my nails!  Friday's arrival also means its another 40 Great Nail Art Ideas mani; this week's theme is floral. This is an somewhat of an odd colour combination but I think it turned out great!

Started with a base of two coats of Butter London Two Fingered Salute shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using images from UberChic 1-02 using Mdu 21.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Totally random, but I took these pix of a couple window planters in Georgetown, Ontario when I was there a couple weeks ago.  Love them!

Here's the other ladies floral mani's!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does 3 Shades of Red/Orange

Here's the nails I did for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas with this weeks theme of 3 shades or red/orange; I had added prompt of roses.

These were the three polishes I chose; piCture pOlish Citrus, Sonia Kashuk Tango Mango and piCture pOlish Vegas.

Started with a coat of two coats of piCture pOlish Citrus; shown with no top coat.

After applying latex barrier, did a gradient using all three polishes on all fingers except the ring, which was a radial gradient.

After removing latex and some clean up.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping after doing a bit more clean up!

UberChic UC 4-02

Stamped all fingers using UberChic UC1-02 except accent which was UberChic UC 4-02 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I noticed a random dot on a petal on the middle nail that was driving me crazy so took a bit of acetone on a brush and removed it.  If only I had have noticed the stray fibre earlier on in the mani!

Here's the other ladies 3 shades of red/orange; everyone has different prompts so you will see quite a bit of variety!

Tempts Are Rising by CANVAS lacquer

CANVAS lacquer just released their Spring Fling collection which is now available on their Etsy site; the entire collection will all be featured in upcoming posts over the next few days!

This is Tempts Are Rising by CANVAS lacquer.

I found that the colour ranged from a deeper berry to a brighter fuchsia depending on the lighting which can be seen in these two pix as the hand pose is pretty much the same in both; any way it leans, it's still stunning!

The above pictures are two coats, no top coat.  Application was good in two easy coats; removal too was a breeze; no problems to report!

As stated at the CANVAS lacquer Etsy site:

The SPRING FLING Collection, a cheeky nod to spring fever

TEMPTS ARE RISING – this bold berry shade has an oh-so sparkly linear holographic finish in a juicy crelly base. There’s nothing shy about this polish, plan to catch a lot of admiring eyes.

I had read over at CANVAS lacquer's blog that Tempts Are Rising is their first linear holographic polish and it seems like they got the holographic flame right; look at the holo flame glowing - this baby could roast marshmallows!!

I was oddly fascinated with the holo peeking out of their lettering here........!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

For stamping, wanted to use an image that you could still see the luscious base under; went with images from UberChic 1-02 using Mundo de Unas #1.

Top coated again with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

CANVAS lacquer's Spring Fling collection is available via their Etsy shop here!  They do ship international to select countries; see their shop for full details!

If you are in the GTA, CANVAS lacquer showcases at a variety of events; please be sure to follow their blog or Instagram account to see where they are at!  It seems I'm never in town when they have an event....or the weather is poor, making it tricky for travel...but I do hope to visit them at a show sometime!

Ombre Roses using UberChic Plate

I did this mani with the hope of sharing before Valentine's Day but that didn't happen unfortunately!  None the less, I think it's pretty enough to wear for anytime so I'm sharing it now!

Started with a base of ombre skittles; colours starting at the thumb and going clockwise are CND Raspberry Parfait, CND Sweet, CND Girlie Pink, Essie Romper Room and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; all two coats, topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using UberChic 1-02.

A closer look at UberChic 1-02.

For the other hand, I did white stamping using Funky Fingers Gesso.  On the pinky which had the white base, I triple stamped using the single rose image from the same plate, using three of the CND base polishes.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I was lucky enough to have an online friend pick up the plates and mail to me but UberChic does ship internationally.  Their site is here!
