Blue Holo Skittles!

Alllllll these stunning holo polishes arrived in the mail on the same day (back in March  2014!); I couldn't wait to do mani's with them and knew I couldn't do them all the same day so I decided to do skittles with them; here's what I came up with!

Polishes used starting at the thumb are Too Fancy Moody Blue, Too Fancy The Shifty Chameleon, Too Fancy Set Fire to the Rain, Emily de Molly LE5 and Too Fancy Bejewelled.  These are all one coat, no topcoat.

Different lighting.

Stamped using white Konad special polish using Lila Anna 10.

Can I just say how much I love these Lily Anna plates....BUT....centering an image on your nails is hard enough without the image being centered on the plate as you can see below.  Now, I was able to center the center image (half) decent but my nails aren't terribly long or big so there was enough of the top and bottom images that it worked.  But if you have reallyyy long nails the centre design would have to shift on nail placement to use the bottom part of the plate to make sure your nail is fully stamped and THAT would cause the middle image not to be centered on the nail and I'm sure this would drive some batty.  (Or maybe I just over think these things, not sure!)   *end rant*

Topped with SV to finish.

Different lighting.

Pahlish Whiskey from a Bottle of Wine

Here's a mani I did back in March just haven't got around to posting it yet....to be honest, I had the whole post finished and just didn't publish it....not sure why now but anyway, this is Pahlish Whiskey from a Bottle of Wine.

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Whiskey from a Bottle of Wine. Oh my goodness....this is a sparkler!  Not only holo in the sun but sparkly as anything in the shade due to the addition of fine shimmer. Whiskey from a Bottle of Wine is part of the Timeless Flight collex.

Stamped using white Konad special polish using Lily Anna 06 with an accent of Lily Anna 10.

Loving this 70's vibe and always great when you can pick an image that lets the base show through!  In hindsight, I probably could have used this mani for the Digit-al Dozen does decades challenge; it probably would have fit in just fine!

Top coated with SV.  Unfortunately I had base reaction and it turned the stamping polish light purple.  Serves me right for not top coating the polish first before stamping as this sometimes does happen.

At tleast light purple is complimentary to the base lol!

CANVAS lacquer Orchids

I have the privilege of sharing a polish from a brand new Canadian indie polish maker, CANVAS lacquer! CANVAS lacquer is the brainchild of two best friends, Alana and Lan, who opened their Etsy shop in March!  This is CANVAS lacquer Orchids.  Orchids is part of the CANVAS lacquer limited edition duo and is their nod to Pantone's Colour of the Year, Radiant Orchid.

CANVAS lacquer Orchids is a purple creme with pink undertones and soft silvery-blue shimmer that dries to a satin finish, as described on their shop.

Different lighting.  This is a very bright purple, almost to the point of being neon.  Loved it!  The shimmer is stunning...makes it look ultraviolet to me lol!  The pix above is three coats; the pix below is two; both have no topcoat.

Decided to add stamping using an image from Lily Anna 10 with Konad white special polish.

Can see the shimmer well in this pix!

Didn't know what to put on the accent finger; decided to use another image from Lily Anna 10.

Added random dots for pops of colour using a couple of Konad pearl special polishes in orange and hot pink.

Topped with SV to finish.

I have more CANVAS lacquers to review and they will be showing up soon! CANVAS lacquer also has a blog and I when I was stalking it, I noticed some fantastic nail art including stamping (note to self; need to try galaxy nails soon!)!

Candynail Citrus Blues

For those who entered CNF's giveaway in December, you may remember that one of the prizes was a trio of polishes donated by a new Canadian indy polish maker, Candynail Polish.  The prize polishes were mailed to me from Candynail's to forward to the winner, and included in the package was a polish that she had included for me, which I'm sharing now.  This is Candynail Citrus Blues**.

Here's two coats of Candynails Citrus Blues.  The pix above has SV; the pix below is without topcoat. Application was easy and it was opaque for full coverage with the two coats.  There were a good amount of glitters with the two coats but I wouldn't complain if more made it onto my nails as I adore the pop of colour they add to the base!  This probably would have occurred with three coats but I rarely take the time for this. You can see in the pix below that the glitters layed down nicely and was still smooth even though no top coat had been applied.

Of course I had to add some stamping!  I wanted something fun to go along with the colourful and playfulness of the polish.

Stamped using red Konad special polish and Mundo de Unas stamping polishes in #11 (yellow) and #13 (orange).  Plates used were Lily Anna 10 (circles) and fauxnad XL F.

Topped with SV to finish.

Thanks to Candynails for her generosity as she also sponsored polishes for a recent Digit-al Dozen Giveaway!

Candynail Polish can be purchased here; she also has a FB group here where you'll find updates and swatches of her fabulous polishes and on Instagram here!
