Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope that you are enjoying the day with family or friends and thinking of everything you have to be thankful for!  I know I am thankful for a lot; I've been blessed with a husband that loves me to pieces even after 26 years of marriage, three wonderful children, a career that challenges me and has provided well for my family and everyone has pretty good health (everyone but me but I'm getting by lol!).  Lastly, I am thankful that I have the means and time to support my nail art hobby and then be able to share it with everyone who chooses to see it on the various social media accounts that I have for over the last nine years and hopefully you enjoy it as well.  Thank you so much!

Polishes used starting at the thumb and going clockwise are Pretty & Polished In the Buff and then alternating nails of SpaRitual Kindness and SpaRitual Positive Vibes.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After making a few stamper decals, applied them.  Images are from Lesly Golden Leaves (thumb), Creative Shop 91 (index), Infinity 65 (middle), Lina 4 Season - Autumn 02 (ring) and Delaney Automne 003 (thumb).  Used assortment of MdU stamping polishes for all the decals.

Absolutely love this stamper decal!  I only wish my nails were wider and longer so that it could really be appreciated!  I'd love to do a mani with this on all nails; it is so cool for sure! It didn't help that I didn't place the decal centered on my nail but sometimes these things happen despite best efforts!

The finished nail; not placed very well but at least you see the leaves well on the one side!  Still love it!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Shadow stamped words on thumb using MdU 2 and 106 using image from Maniology M023.  My test hand shadow stamping was much better and I have a feeling that the solid words are to be stamped before the outlined ones but that's OK!  I'll know better for next time!

Thanks for looking and Happy Thanksgiving!

Quick and Easy Nails!

I love when a quick mani looks great!  Here's a tone on tone that I was wearing at the beginning of the summer!

Started with a base of four (yes, four!) coats of SpaRitual Intellect, no top coat.  Four coats gave better coverage than these pictures reflect.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Apipila Super Placa B using MdU 49.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Digit-al Dozen Does Throwback; Day 2

Here's my day 2 mani for Digit-al Dozen week; I again did nails based on an older mani I had done for a past Digit-al Dozen week and then mixed it a bit.  I love those these turned out even though I wasn't quite sure how the colours would work out...a little on the fugly side but I think they work for fall!  Regardless, I like how this turn out; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Color Club Je Ne Sais Quoi, no top coat.  This seems to be a staple to my fall nails this year; I've wore it so often!

After applying Girly Bits Border Patrol, did a sponged gradient using Color Club Je Ne Sais Quoi, Color Club Tribe and True and SpaRitural Clay, then added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from LS-20 on all nails, then added one from BM-XL204 on the thumb.

I added a few more geese on the middle and thumb using same BM plate, then finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Here's the past DD mani that I updated and the post is here!

Digit-al Dozen Does Throwback; Day 1

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canucks!  I'm sorry for posting late; I did these nails well in advance of Thanksgiving day (on Saturday morning as I was going away for the long weekend), but I couldn't get the pictures to upload from my phone yesterday to do the blog post!  I had to get them uploaded to my computer in a very roundabout way so am late!  I'm also using these nails for day 1 of Digit-al Dozen does throwback, as a throwback to Thanksgiving nails I've done in the past!  Here's what I came up with!

(The above nails are without topcoat; the nails below have topcoat - I couldn't figure out which ones I liked best!

Started with a base of skittles; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  OPI Santa Monica Beach Peach, Sally Hansen Butterscotch, SpaRitual Clay, American Apparel Mac Arthur Park and L'Oreal The Perfect Trench.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made a few stamper decals using the base polishes and a couple others.

Applied stamper decals, and also stamped a couple fingers.  Used images from Infinity 65 (thumb), UberChic Lovely Leaves (ring), Delaney Automne 003 (middle and ring) and UC mini Give Thanks (pinky).  Used MdU polishes for index and middle.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Here's a past Digit-al Dozen mani that this mani is (loosely) based upon!

I did Ms. Cindy a little different but liked it enough that I thought I would share!  On a base of Sally Hansen Butterscotch, stamped using Delaney Feuillages A001 on all fingers except thumb which is Helen 19.  Used a few different MdU stamping polishes.

Hopefully you had a great Thanksgiving weekend!  Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does NEW & Improved; Day 5

This is what I came up with for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen week with the theme of new and improved although I'm a couple days late in sharing.  I did another new to me technique; being the dental floss method; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Boyfriend Scales Walls; two coats then top coated (no pix as have shared before).  For the dental floss method, you use these dental floss picks.

I brushed paint across the floss and then you place it horizontally on your nail.

This is what I ended up which is a total fail for the method as it is suppose to be crisp, clean lines.  But what I got instead was blurs of lines.  Every time I put the dental floss down on the nail, it kinda skidded and did this blur thing.  I think it might have been because of the top coat making it too slick but not sure.  Also, my dental floss had some play and wasn't a tight string and I think that also stopped it from making crisp lines.

I didn't mind this end result though; it reminded me of an abstract water colour or something.  This was sky and trees for my airplane base.  Polishes used are Nicole by OPI Blue Baby, SpaRitual Circle of Life, Kit Teal Tango, piCture pOlish Sky, Essence The Green and the Grunge and Maybelline Go Go Green.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I made a stamper decal using Messy Mansion MM35.

I had this big stamper that I got from Messy Mansion; its really the only stamper that I have that is big enough to stamp this image but unfortunately, it doesn't work that well which is why Messy Mansion was including them free with orders.

This was the stamped image.  I attempted to make a stamper decal by topping with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails; however, I couldn't get the image off the stamper at all.

Then I made a decal on the UberChic mat.

I cut the decal into sections so it could fit on the nails, then applied them.

I also made a stamper decal using Chez Delaney Back to the 50'x 001 and applied it to the thumb.

Finished by adding a coat of OPI matte. (I just looked at this and realized the ring finger image is upside down; I couldn't figure out why the plan propellers don't match up then seen the wheel in the air!  On the pix above, it is upside down too and should have been flipped.  Doh!)

As challenging as this week has been, it has been interesting using all the new to me techniques; when I was commenting on the other ladies manis, I also realized there are oh, so many more techniques I have not yet tried.  Hopefully, I'll go out of my comfort zone and try even more of these techniques at some time.

Here's the other ladies Day 5 mani's.

This mani is also doing double duty for the things that fly theme for 40 Great Nail Art ideas; here's the other ladies nails!
