Using Early Indie Polish

I know spring is some time away but thought I'd share these floral nails anyway.  These aren't really spring nails anyway; they are any-time-of-year-nails!  It's a funny time of year and busy if you do nail art for all the holidays; Valentines, Chinese New Year, St. Patrick's Day, then Easter - all within a couple of months.  If you are like me and only post every so many days, it takes a few weeks to do a few manis so there isn't much time in between holidays so here's a quick mani before I start to share St. Patrick's day nails.  Or soon, anyway!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Zoya Robyn with an accent nails of Noodles Polish Life's Short, Talk Fast (Feb 2019 PPU).

Topped a couple nails with an unknown indie brand, Jack Frost.  I don't remember much about the polish although it was one of the first indie I ever bought from a maker that I didn't 'know' and I remember I seen it on a blog post and emailed the blogger and the sale was arranged that way.  First time that I used it but don't know why it took so long!  I'm guessing this is over 10 years ago.  You can tell it was one of the first indies as it looks like recycled WetnWild bottles were used from the days of frankening.

This was my purchase way back when, except I bought a couple of one of the polish. Anyone recognize the maker?

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Marianne Nails Professional n.27

Stamped using image from Marianne Nails n.27 with accent of EYNails n.1 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Used the two base polishes and dotted on the nails.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I took a couple pictures outside in overcast light so some of the glitter and shimmer showed up a bit better.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!  (Late, sorry but I had these in draft and didn't realize they didn't post!)

I've been trying to do more themed nails and did these Chinese New Year nails over the weekend.  It's Year of the Ox!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats JReine Goldschlanger with accent nails of two coats Laquistry Chinese New Year.

Lacquistry Chinese New Year.  I remember when this came out, how hard it was to get a bottle but I finally snagged one at a restock.  And then never used it until now.  Why do we do that?  As I knowwww I'm not the only one.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After making stamper decals using image from Delaney Asiatique 001, applied them to the index and ring finger using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and Midnight Mischief.  Shadow stamped pinky using Maniology m044 using same polishes.  Stamped middle finger using MoYou London Zodiac 14 (numbers), Maniology M083 (words on middle) and MoYou London Zodiac 14 (thumb).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did my hand slightly different; stamped Lesly LS-51 using PP Blanc Slate on a layered base of ees Knees Every 27 Years on a base of Sally Hansen CSM Red My Lips.  This was appropriate at the time as I did these nails on February 13th.

St. Valentine's Nails!

These nails are both Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, hence my St. Valentine's nails!  I had intiially set out to do Valentine's Day nails but wanted something out of the box so decided on green.  I wanted a brighter green than what I have here but with a smooshy base, you never know what you're going to get. Once the base was down, my first thought was, great base for St. Patrick's Day nails, but I didnt have any of those plates pulled.  So I decided to go back to a Vday mani and this is what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base using an assortment of greens and yellows that lean green.

I used a lot of polishes!

Topped with a base of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This is Ms. Cindy.  Not a smooshy base but the same polishes just brushed on randomly.  Almost the same look.  You could barely tell the difference once the stamping was on.

Stamped using image from BM-XL  210 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I had a bit of top coat smear which was irritating; I can't wait to receive the Apipila no smear tc to see how it works!

I redid my ring finger here because the smear was more than I could take - but didn't see the index finger was just as bad.  It doesn't help that there are horizontal downward brush strokes before the stamping!  Of course, the smear isn't that obvious  IRL, just in pix but bugs me still!
