Winter Vibes!

After a big storm system that hit most of Ontario shortly after Christmas, we had a stretch of rain and warmer weather and it all melted.  A couple days ago, we had some snow again and the temperatures have lowered, so it makes it more appropriate to share a few more snowflake and sweater nails so here's a snowflake mani that has those black flecks I love so much!

Started with a base of  two coats of Sally Hansen Violet Voltage, no top coat.

Topped with Polished for Days Most Everyone's Mad Here, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using UberChic UC Christmas-01 on all nails, except accent, which is UberChic UC Merry & Bright (word) and UberChic UC Jingle All the Way (snowflakes), using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town!

It's Christmas Eve!  This means that Santa Claus is busy at the North Pole today in preparation of trekking around the world later tonight!  He couldn't do this without the help of Mrs. Claus and the elves, not to mention Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer guiding his sleigh tonight!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with accents of KBShimmer Holly Back Girl

Applied stamper decals from images UberChic Christmas-01 (index), Wistonia The North Pole (pinky) and Delaney Noel 005, the did layered stamping on middle and ring finger using Clear Jelly Stampeer CJS C-34.  Used Konad red, Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, Painted Polish Blanc Slate, MdU 84, Mdu 88 and another with no label, as well as a few different regular polishes for the stamper decals that I didn't make mark down.

My thumb had a bad reaction to the topcoat and smear from one end of the nail to the other, so don't have any pictures of the mani with topcoat.  Except these four fingers. But what I noticed after putting on a water based topcoat that Santa's beard kinda turned yellow!  I think it was the face stamping coming through the white.  Regardless, Santa cannot have a yellow beard!

So I decided to add KBShimmer White Here, White Now on the beard and then on Santa and Mrs. Claus's fur lining and then restamped the holly and mistletoe again.  For the thumb, removed the smeared stamping and base polish, then put on OPI Envy The Adventure topped with Painted Polish Grinch Green (mainly as I happen to have them sitting on my nail station from doing other mani's) and then stamped it with an image from Beauty Big Bang XL-030 (mainly as I happen to have it sitting there on my mani station to use for another mani) using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

While I was sad to see the stamping smear (and think the North Pole decal was more mani appropriate), I was glad I was able to save it and still follow the theme as it was late and I did not have time to make another stamper decal!

Topped everything off with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Yes, I know the topcoat shouldn't go on the KB texture polish but I knew I'd be snagging my hair, clothes, bedding etc. until I took this mani off and it would drive me crazy.

Thanks for looking!  Enjoy these next few days regardless how you happen to be spending them.  While we would normally travel to see family, we are staying put this year and having a quiet Christmas as home with those members that live in home so as to follow COVID guidelines in place.  It will seem strange for sure not being with family but we hope all our staying at home this year will mean we will all be around to get together next year and the year after and so on and its a small sacrifice to make for the safety of all.

All the best to you this holiday season!

Another Snowflake Mani!

We got our fair share of snow the last couple days so I thought I should share another snowflake mani while the white stuff is still around!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Color Club Catwalk.  I love this polish! I used it so many times over the holiday season.  Another great find at Winners this fall as part of the 7 pack for $9.99 deals!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from UberChic UC Christmas-01 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  Loving the contract of the two colours!

Happy Christmas Eve!

It's Christmas Eve!  I'm spending a low key evening, mainly waiting for Santa to put the gifts under the tree and fill the stockings!  Uhum, guess who is Santa? lol.  I did these nails a couple nights ago; they are kind out of my wheelhouse but I had a thought about trying the Hit the Bottle jelly polishes and thought I would give it a try!  First time using the Hit the Bottles jellies but they worked out really well and are really pigmented; I could see myself reaching for them on a regular basis, that's for sure!  I love how vibrant they are against the black!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Black Onyx (no pix, as have shared before).  Stamped with images from Marianne Nails n.118 (index and middle), UberChic Christmas-01 (ring), UberChic Merry Christmas (words on thumb), W232 (wreath on thumb), and Delaney Noel A001 (pinky) using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

UberChic Merry Christmas

I'm not entirely sure if you are suppose to top coat first or just paint on top of the white base but I just waited a good amount of time to make sure the white stamping polish was dry, then applied Hit the Bottle polishes in Fireball, Shamrock and Bumble Bee.  I love how pigmented they are; they are a bright pop of colour against the dark base!

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve and thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does All That Glitters; Day 4

I'm hoping this mani hits the all that glitters theme a couple ways....1) snow (and snowflakes) glitter in the sun and 2) the glitter in these stunning polishes!  Here's what I came up with for day 4!

Started with a base of two coats each Pahlish Sample Batch Blueberry Pie with accent of Pahlish Oogie Boogie.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from UberChic Christmas-01 using MdU 1 and 73.

Decided to double stamp/shadow stamp the accent nails but they didn't line up nearly as well as I wanted.  I obviously need more practice! I contemplated double stamping the other nails with the navy stamping polish but decided to leave it as is.

Added a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 4 mani's!

Digit-al Dozen Does My Home; Day 5

Finishing out the Digit-al Dozen my home challenge, I did a mani inspired by my Christmas tree!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of four coats of KBShimmer Holly Back Girl, with accents of two coats each of Polish 'M Holly Jolly Christmas and Here Comes Santa Claus.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from MoYou Festive Collection-45 (pinky), Marianne Nails n.118 (thumb, middle, ring) and UberChic UC Christmas-01 using Mdu 1, 9 and 37.

MoYou Festive Collection-45

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  These nails are like my Christmas tree; I got country looking decorations and then flashy and glittery; a mish-mash of a bit of everything!

My tree!

White Holo Snowflakes

Although we haven't seen any of the white stuff in a while now (and I'm not complaining!), my first thought when I sat down to do my nails with a recently arrived bottle of Different Dimension Excelsior was to stamp it with white and decided upon snow flakes!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Excelsior, shown with no top coat.

I've been taking a few pix here and there with my new macro lens; here's one of them.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using images from UberChic Christmas-01.

Finished it off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

My newly arrived bottle of KBShimmer Makin' Copies was still on my desk as I had used it a week or so ago and lazy me, hadn't put it away yet.  I was actually going to order a back up bottle because I love that it was good coverage in two easy coats and a colour I thought I'd wear often!  I thought I'd compare the two just for fun; the base colours seem pretty similar, although I'd say the Different Dimension is a shade darker.  As you can see, KBShimmer is more of a scattered holo and I seen a lot of blue shimmer, and Different Dimension Excelsior is more of a linear holo and I seen more pink shimmer.  I'm happy that I own both but I have since decided that I no longer need a second bottle of the KBShimmer as the base of Different Dimension will suffice if I want this base colour and one bottle or the other happen to ever run low.

The other KBShimmer polish I seriously thought about buying a back up of was Fax of Life but I happen to have bought Different Dimension Dragon.  When I was looking at them, while not dupes as Dragon is definitely a shade darker, they are close enough that I don't think I need a back up of Fax of Life.  I have worn KBShimmer Fax of Life in a mani but not Different Dimension Dragon so they might be less close than the bottle shots appear, but at this time, I'll save that money I would have spent on backups.

This pix, you can see that pink shimmer in the base of Different Dimension Excelsior that I was talking about.

I'm loving these soft neutral shades right now and am happy that I have both lines in my collex anyway!

Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for looking!
