Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 2

For Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen whimsy week, I did what I thought would be a whimsical activity like kite flying thinking of the wind blowing and the kite dancing all around in the wind!

Started with a base of two coats of Kiara Sky The Real Teal, no top coat (no pix as I did these nails quickly before work this morning!)  Sponged on Kiara Sky Skies The Limit and Angelacq Lacquer Spectrum Blue.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I placed an image from FUN 16 for base interest as well as the representation of the wind swirling around. Used MoYou London Dusty Cloud stamping polish.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before adding final stamping.

Stamped another image from FUN 16 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  Hand drew in the kite line to connect the fingers.  Also hand filled in some voids on the thumb.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Spring; Day 5

It's Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen week and I've been saving my favourite mani for last!  (Well, other than the fact I still have to post my Day 3 mani which is done, I just need to finish the blog post!).

Years ago, the return of Canada Geese from migrating was the first sign that spring was around the corner.  But nowadays, they don't even fly south (at least where I live); they hang around all winter long.  So I always look out for the first robin as the start of spring and did a mani featuring an iconic spring figure here in Ontario; the arrival of the robin heralding that spring has officially arrived!

Started with a base of NYC Skyline Blue; this is two coats, no top coat.

Did a sponged gradient using Kiara Sky Skies the Limit and Angelacq Lacquer Spectrum Blue.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Added some clouds using Konad m79 with Funky Fingers Gesso.

After making a stamper decal using an image from Moyra Stamping Plate 14-Moments using acrylic paints, added a few branches. Note that the bird was initially shrunk using the Uber Chic Luxe stamper, then stamped again onto the Konad double ended stamper so I could make the decal so the image is reversed from what it is shown on the plate and smaller.

I still haven't seen any robins in my area yet even though Sunday is the first day of spring.  But we certainly have had our share of rain which is usually another indication of spring; hopefully it is just around the corner!

Angelacq Lacquer

I was at my local supply place not too long ago and noticed that they had a display of a new (to me) brand of polishes called Angelacq Lacquer.  They had polish as well as the counterpart in gel.  Of course I had to pick up a couple to try!  It was no surprise that my eye gravitated toward the blues; this is what I came up with when I paired a couple of them together!

Started with a base of two coats each of Angelacq Spectrum Blue with accents of Angelacq Azure Blue.

Topped with KBShimmer before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Gesso using an image from Chez Dentelle 004.

Added a few accent studs for interest.

Top coated all with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did my other hand slightly different; really liked how this turned out too!

I unfortunately don't have much information about Angelacq Lacquer.  I had bought from local nail supply place that is one of their distributors and have a feeling they are for professionals only.  The polish is to be long lasting, up to three weeks with their topcoat according to their website, but I didn't use the topcoat, nor did I wear for three weeks!.  I have no issues with removal or staining.  I see they had a booth at CosmoProf2015 so hopefully those bloggers covering the event for media might have some insight how widely they will be available.
