Smooshy Stars!

I love doing smooshy bases!  They are easy to do and can create some really cool bases sometimes.  Sometimes clean up isn't the easiest but it's a small price to pay for some art on your nails!  Here's one I came up with not too long ago!

Blue Stars and Stripes

I found this stamping image when I was looking through my stamping plates for Easter related images and thought it looked pretty interesting.  So I set the plate aside to do a mani when I had a chance.  Here's what I came up with when I decided to use it!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Swim Upstream, two coats, no top coat.

Topped with China Glaze Blue Hawaiian.

Stamped with an image from Mezerdoo B7 using MdU 1.  Fortunately, my nails were short enough that I could do stars and stripes on most of the nails with the larger star and the stripes as accents, just for a little variety and interest.  Another one of my favourite nail things to do; use different aspects of a image on each nail.  I also used a fairly hard clear stamper as I find the softer stampers usually distort the lines so they aren't as straight as they should be.  It seemed to work well; the lines look pretty straight overall.  The clear stamper helps too with making sure the lines are placed straight too!

I really like this image but if I had one improvement, it would be that the space between the lines were just a smidgen wider so that the beauty of the base polish could shine a bit more.

Digit-al Dozen Does 5th Birthday; Day 4!

This was a simple mani I did for day 4 of all things 5 and birthday!  This is a mani using 5 different stamped images!  I don't normally wear hearts outside of Valentine's, but these were the images calling to me which I got down to stamping....particularly the thing and ring finger images!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Fair Maiden Polish Seaflower, no top coat, that I had picked up at Indie Expo Canada 2017 in June!

There is this gorgeous pink or magenta shimmer or shift in this polish, which was the reason why I went with a magenta stamping polish but it was camera shy for the most part!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Infinty Nails 17 (pinky), Mezerdoo B4 (middle), Mezerdoo B8 (ring) and Mezerdoo 36 (thumb and index) using Hit the Bottle Magenta At Your Own Risk.

Cute Design on Short Nails!

Not too long ago, I cut down my nails as they interfere with life when they get too long plus a couple of my nails develop C curve that bugs me.....I actually like this length on me even though I do grow them out, then cut them down, then grow them out...I'm probably one of the rare bloggers that breaks don't really bother me as I just cut down the rest of them and live with them until they grow out again although some people get so disappointed or mad when they have a break.  I don't get it myself.  Just cut the rest of them and move on with life! But each to their own!  I know some gals like them a certain length or shape as that is what they are identified with but I'm not one of those bloggers that you see the nails always the same length (not sure if that is good or bad lol).  And because I post my nail art at random and not necessarily what I might be wearing currently (yes, I'm that blogger that still has nails from 2014 to share that are in archives!), you will see a variety of nail lengths at any given time.  Anyway, short nails give me the option to use those plate images that don't always fit on my nails when they are longer and also shows those with shorter nails that you can still do nail art regardless of the length!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (not shown), then stamped using images from Mezerdoo 38 using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red stamping polish.

Did a little stamping touch ups, then added a few black accent dots using different size of dotters for interest.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish (I think I added a bit too much top coat to middle finger; it did dry level but not the best in pix, sorry!)

Floral Nails...and Oodles of Dots!

This aqua or turquoise colour is one I wear often during the summer; in fact, I would hazard a guess that I probably wear aqua or turquoise at least twice a week.  I often do nails to coordinate what I'm wearing so this is what I had on not too long ago to match my outfit! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base coat of Essie I'm Addicted.  This may be a little darker to the true colour as I started with a SpaRitual turquoise that was darker than I wanted and did one coat of it; realized it was going to be darker than I wanted, so just layered two coats of the Essie on top so there may be some colour variance.

Stamped with Mezerdoo B1 using MdU 1 (I could only get the MdU polish to work with the plate for some reason).  I took the same image and stamped pieces and parts on it differently on each nail for a little variety and interest.

Added a few random dots using MdU 80.  I *might* have gone a little overboard with the dots....lol!  But I liked it!
