Swirls!

Dance Legend has some great polishes, which makes me wonder why I don't wear them more often.  Come to think of it, I know why.  Too many polishes!  I'm glad I was able to wear this one at least!  I wonder if they are still in business.  Does anyone know?  I don't see many posts about them now as I did years ago, probably because there are now so many polish options with the indie polish explosion.

Started with a base of two coats of Dance Legend Wow Prism Night Ranger, with a little extra at the tips.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Moyra 54 Matrix using a combination of MdU 91 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Thanks for looking!

Happy New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's Eve!  I wish I could say I was doing something more exciting for New Year's but I'm  staying in tonight, watching a little tv, doing some blog posts and then ringing in the new year with watching some channel on tv.  I hope whatever you are doing, that you have a great one and all the best in 2022!

I wanted something blingy so put on two coats of Autumn's Palette plus a little extra on the tips, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Chez Delaney Fete 002 (thumb, pinky), SugarBubbles SBS 04 (index) and SBS 09 (middle and ring) usisng Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This is Ms. Cindy; same images but on a base of Dance Legend New Messiah.  I used it on this hand because, you know, glitter removal lol.

Last of the Fall Nails

While I still have a few fall nails to share, winter and Christmas will soon be here and so, it's time to start sharing those nails so I'm saying goodbye to fall nails for now.  I'll have a good start to Fall 2021 with the ones I have left in archives anyway!

Started with a base of two coats of Dance Legend Military, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from MoYou Fall in Love-09 on all fingers except thumb, which is UC Pretty in Plaid.  Used MdU 59, 66 and 109 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had made a stamper decal from Delaney Automne 01 for another mani but decided to use it here so added to thumb.  then topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top on it to finish.

I was pretty happy how well I lined these layered images up but was even more impressed how I stamped Ms. Cindy with my non dominant hand.  I even think I did better on the fox and thumb than on the shared one!

I hope you've enjoyed all my fall mani's this fall.  Thanks for looking!

Lazy Sunday

Good evening!  It's was a pretty lazy day in my part of Ontario today; rain, rain, thunder, then more rain has been happening for the last 12-15 or so hours.  I was up last night around 2 am when it started and even went outside for a bit to watch the lightning show.  Then went in when it seemed it stopped and then was awaken about 8 am or so again when the thunder and lightning started again.  It has also been raining off and on most of the day so that makes it for a lazy Sunday. We did have a bit of sun late in the afternoon so was able to get outside for a bit. Well, I wasn't too lazy all day as I did a couple hours of much needed housework but all in all, nothing too much productive.  It's a good day to do some blog posts as I'm too busy most days during the week so here is one I'm going to share now.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of Dance Legend Wow Prism Quiet Riot, no top coat.

Topped with a base of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic UC 25-03 using MdU 5 and 58.

Stamped the outline using same UC 25-03 plate using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped using KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added dots uding MdU 106, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

If you know my style, you know I like my nails busy so added dots for colour and filler using same MdU polishes.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I hope you're having a fantasic Sunday; whether it's a lazy Sunday like me or more productive!

Fluid Nail Art Friday with St. Patrick's Day Nails!

Not too long ago, I decided I was going to finally try my hand at some fluid nail art.  I've had the Dance Legend Spot Its for a while now and thanks to my awesome US nail pal, I have all the Sinful Colors Transforming top coat polishes and the Sally Hansen Color Whirl (and even the OPI Spotted Top Coat from a couple years ago) but have never used any of them.  Nope.  That's right, haven't even used them once!  Well, after watching a few fluid art tutorials (stamping and for paint wall art), I sat down and tried out the technique!  Here's what I came up with!

I made my fluid nail art from decals on a plastic lid.  The polishes that I used were OPI Envy The Adventure, OPI Green Come True, China Glaze Gaga For Green, Sally Hansen CSM Slime Scene and Savvy Knightly Armour.  Again, I had watched a few tutorials and especially when viewing Kyong Lee's on YouTube (you can google link), it seemed like you can use quite a bit of polish to make some of the nail decals, so I didn't want to use anything overly HTF or even an indie which might be a little bit more pricier to buy.  Fluid art might be a good way to use up some of the cremes that I have that haven't seen the light of day!  I added the Savvy just because I like the look of a little sparkle in my decals for interest.  For the fluid, I found I had the best results with Dance Legend Spot it; I didn't have very good results with the Sally Hansen Color Whirl.  I didn't try any others as I felt I had enough decals for my nails with what I already had experimented with.  That being said, I did formulate my own 'spotted' mix after watching some paint tutorials as I don't necessarily want black cells, or white, or whatever cell colours I have from Sinful and Dance Legend, I might want to create my own cells!  I've already tried the method (not too successfully I might add, the Dance Legend polishes seem to work the best so far of any I have used) but will share the decals I made at some time!

After applying a base of sticky base to my nails, I cut the decals to somewhat fit my nail, then trimmed and used acetone and brush to remove any excess.   I tried to pick parts of the decal that had the most interest to me, keeping in mind that I still needed a cohesive mani that somewhat matched on all nails.

The leftovers lol.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top for shine and to help adhere the decals.

With the base being green, I knew I wanted to do St. Patrick's Day nails but didn't want to cover up too much of the base because that's the highlight especially after working so hard to make them!  So stamped most nails with image from BM03 on all except accent, which is MoYou Festive 21 using MdU 1.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I initially thought that I'd only wear these for a day or so but I liked how they turned out so much that I think I wore them for 3 or 4 days!  I only removed them because they started to lift but I did enjoy them on my nails while they were on!  Overall, I like the method, I think it makes for an interesting base and hope to do these more often!

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Red & Black Go So Well Together!

I got to thinking that there aren't many nail studs being shared lately; I don't know why because I still love using them!  I think I picked studs just a little too big for my nails in this mani but still love how this turned out!  I love that I can paint them too to colour coordinate my nails well!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Adam Said, It's New Years, Eve, OPI Black Onyx and Dance Legend Wow Prism Danger, Danger.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with Color Club Illusion using FunkyFingers Dark Knight. Thank goodness for CJS to help with placement!

Added another coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After painting nail studs using the two OPI polishes, added on nails for interest.

Topped them off with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to secure.

Thanks for looking!

Funky Circles!

Not too long ago, I received an order from Hypnotic Polish that contained this polish and plate and immediately let out to do my nails; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Anna Gorelova by Dance Legend Sisken.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Lesly LS-51 using MdU 46.  This is one of those stamping polishes than can sometimes stain your skin so I'm sure to always remove the excess around my nails after each stamp on each finger.

Lesly LS-51

Added a few dots for interest and filler using MdU 1 and 66.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.
