Happy Groundhog Day!

Today's Groundhog Day....it's the day we find out if there is 6 weeks of winter or if we are in for an early spring based upon if the local groundhog sees his shadow. Here's the mani I came up with!

Picture180_zps16b5c77a-2

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Polar Bare; topped with SV.

Picture165_zpsa9b45082-2

Stamped using yellow and white Konad special polish using fauxnad D for the sun and clouds and black Konad using SdP 47 for the groundhog.

Filled in the groundhog image with black Konad to mimic the shadow.

Picture168_zpsb4cb6857-2

Added a bit of grass using Orly Green Apple and Colorblast by Orly Raging Vine.

Topped with SV.

In my area, the local groundhog forecaster, Wiarton Willie, didn't see his shadow which is suppose to mean an early spring.  (Apparently if he does see his shadow, its six more weeks of winter...but accordingly to the local newspaper, the groundhogs in other parts of the world seen their shadow, so there's conflicting reports out there!)  I guess we'll see in a few weeks how accurate Wiarton Willie's forecast is!

Hope you're having a great weekend...and thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen: Art, Day 2

Did I mention that I'm not too much into art?  For a little inspiration, I did some Googling and a few of the images that were found in the search results were related to Egyptian art, so I thought, why not?  Here's what I came up with.

Picture040-2

A lot of the Egyptian art that I seen is on a beige/sand coloured base but when I went looking through my stash, I decided I wanted to jazz it up a little, yet at least be in the beige/sand family (somewhat!), so started with a base of China Glaze It's My Turn; this is three coats, no topcoat.

Picture003-2

Added images using D23 (both images on thumb), H25 (top image on index) VL 006 (bottom line image on index), FUN 2 (ring), OMG Nails unnamed XL plate (pinky) and Blink H43 (middle) using black Konad special polish.

Picture012-2

When I was browsing Egyptian art pix, I noticed that occasionally there were bright turquoise and orange-ish accents so I chose these colours for a few accent dots; Color Blast by Orly Ablazing Aqua and Konad Gold/Brown special polish.

Picture013-2

Topped with SV to finish.

Picture042-2

I thought this turned out pretty cool!  I wished there were more Egyptian images available like King Tut's mask and a few others....but was happy that at least there were enough to squeak out a mani with some improvising and artistic liberties!

Thanks for looking!

Here's the other ladies art! These gals are so creative!!

A Quick Christmas Mani

Back to doing a holiday mani....a quick one I came up with.

DSC05914-2

Started with a base of two coats of Color Blast by Orly Raging Vine.  This is two coats; no topcoat.

DSC05889-2

Added NYX Girls Emerald Forest for some glitter french tips....for some reason, I'm kinda into these funky french glitter type of mani's right now....

DSC05898-2

Neither one of these has top coat on top.

DSC05903-2

Stamped with Konad white stamping polish using SdP 83.

DSC05905-2

Added a few red dots for the holly berries.

DSC05908-2

(Topped with SV, which is the first pix.)

Just before I took it off, I had a recently received bottle of Lush Lacquer Ho Ho Holidays sitting out and thought I'd layer a coat on just to see how it looked.

Have a great weekend!
