Aloha!

I think I've shared enough winter nails for the season, although I do have a few more nails that I haven't shared and they might show up between now and spring!  But I'm thinking of warmer weather, so am going to share a few tropical or nautical nails over the next little while.  Starting with this one! I love the look of these nails; it's hard to believe that I did them almost  5 (!) years ago!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smoosh base using Fancy Gloss Neon Yellow, Neon Green, and Neon Blue.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

MoYou Tropical Collection-17

Stamped using MoYou London Collection-17 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

It’s Frickin Cold!

We had a few warm (for winter) days after our big snowfall and it was good because so much of the snow was able to melt.  The snow banks were soo high and there wasn't a lot of places to put it so the melt really will help if we some accumulation.  But we are in another deep freeze; it's suppose to be -17C tonight which is chillyyy!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Pahlish Olaf (Black Friday 2024) on thumb, three coats of Moon Shine Mani Peace and Love on the Planet Earth on the index and pinky and Morgan Taylor Powers of Persuasion on the rest.  I first put a coat of Polished for Days Lilac Soft Focus on all nails the the Morgan Taylor.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did shadow stamping on nails using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, MdU 111 and Painted Polish Stamped in Periwinkle with images from Kads Christmas 040 (thumb and middle), Kads Christmas 026 (pinky and indiex) and Marianne Nails Professional n31 (ring).

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Take care out there; stay warm and drive safely!

Sweater Nails

It was bad enough that we got so much snow this past week, but to make matters worse, we are in a deep freeze now.  Not as cold as places like Yukon, Calgary, Saskatchewan, but it's cold enough, and bitterly cold with the wind.   Good time to share sweater nails; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of Femme Fatale Waves of (Hella Handmade Creations June 2024), no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with Delaney Hiver 004 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, with an accent nail of Nicole Diary-281.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Thanks for looking -- and stay warm out there!

Snow...Go Away!

So here in Southern Ontario, this weekend past, we had as much snow as we had all of last year.  Needless to say, we got quite a bit; however, it pales in comparison to the amount of snow that has fallen in the snow belt this winter in other parts of Ontario.  I stayed in (couldn't go anyplace anyway, as it took over 24 hours for the plow to go down our street, although I think it may have been passable with effort anyway) and did some needed decluttering, baking and other things around the house for the long weekend.  Then had to deal with all the things that snow brought workwise and have been busy most of this week dealing with those issues.  But the snow we had won't be going away anytime soon so it's a good time to share more snow nails, including this one.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Draw Blue In, two coats, no top coat.

Topped accent nails with Rogue Lacquer Knowledge Reclaimed (PPU August 2023).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped plaid with image from Creative Shop 182 Basic using MdU 91, and accent nails using Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Stamped isolated snowflakes on accent nails using same Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 plate using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I know I've shared this look before but I can't help it; it is one of my favourite looks and it will likely be shared again at some point lol.

A Sterotypical Valentine’s

My husband and I didn't do anything special for Valentine's Day this year; we haven't for a few years now, but back when we were dating and before we had kids, it was always a night out for us to one of our favourite restaurants for dinner, and there was always flowers  card  to round out the night.  So when I seen these various images, I thought they would be a  nice reminder to days gone by.  And maybe this is how you spent your Valentine's, who know, although I have no idea how the night is spent now, although I suspect out for dinner is common.  I remember after we had been married a few years and when our kids were little, we used to go to dinner the weekend before, or a couple nights before as Valentine's was always so busy lol.  Anyway, here's what I came up with.

Started with a base of neutrals; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  OPI A Great Opera-tunity, Essie Gel Couture Tassle Free, Orly Light Tan, Essie Spin The Bottle and OPI Somewhere Over the Rainbow Mountains; no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Happy Valentines Day!!

One day not too long ago, I needed a pick me up so I decided to paint my nails this bright hot pink.  I thought it would make a pretty cool Valentine's Day mani so added some heart stamping and this is what I ended up with!

Started with a base of Glisten & Glow Lei'd Back, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

SR-S009

Stamped using image from SR-S009 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, with accent nails of MoYou London Festive 20.  Used same MoYou image to duplicate the hearts on the ring finger to fill the space for interest.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hearts!

This was my favourite Valentine mani that I did this year and I'm happy that I had time to share it this year versus waiting until next year, which sometimes happens.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then did a smooshy stamper base to get this.

Pahlish Jaq & Gus Sidekick Mystery, Pahlish ?, Pahlish The Albatross, KBShimmer Not Snow Fast (PPU Dec 2024) and Crystal Knockout Go Frost Yourself (PPU June 2024).  While they aren't all iridescent flakes, a lot of them are, which add to this really cool effect!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Creative Shop 196

Stamped using Creative Shop 196 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

For a different look, topped with a coat of Essie Matte About You.  I thought this would really transform it, but all it all, it didn't look that much different.
