Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 5

Here I am again super late for Day 5 Digit-al Dozen rainbow challenge so sorry about that; this mani is also doing double duty for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas does summer challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started by making a couple stamper decals using an image from Infinity 34 and acrylic paints.  I made two because wasn't sure which one would turn out better on the nail but glad that I did as I ended up cutting them and using them both because the images were too large for one nail.

Did a coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on three fingers then attempted some water marbling using Pipe Dream Polish High Roller, All In, 110 Degrees, Light of Day and Peace Out.

I had planned on using a full stamper decal on the thumb but when the image was too big, decided to cut it down and used half on the thumb and then the other half along with some of the clouds on the middle.  So had to add base polishes to both these nails; the middle is again OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the thumb is Polish M A Quiet Mind.

Used both stamper decals.

Stamped index finger using MoYou 408 and MoYou Tourist Collection-17 on ring and pinky.  The birds on the thumb are also from MoYou Tourist 17.  Stamping polish is FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Added a few more birds to middle and pinky using MoYou Tourist 17.

Added a coat of GirlyBits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Weddings

This weeks theme for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas is weddings; I haven't been to a wedding for a very long time; maybe a good 10 years, and my own wedding is now some 23 years ago so I'm not overly familiar with what is on trend regarding weddings nowadays.  But I don't think the traditional lace look ever goes out of style, so with that in mind, I came up with these lace looking nails!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie Marshmallow, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.  (Not this opaque IRL; just the lighting!)

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using an image from Delaney Dentelle A004.

The bright lover in me was surprised I liked this as much as I did! Here's the other wedding mani's!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Hot Pink

Late again for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Hot Pink challenge; I had added prompt of skittles!

For the skittles, picked assortment of hot pink polishes, purposely trying to have a few different finishes for some interest.  Starting at thumb and going clockwise, polishes are Girly Bits Julia, Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream, Smitten/Dreamland Pool Noodle, Colors by llarowe Frenzy and Crazy Polish Lady Strawberry Swing.  All are two coats except Pool Noodle which is 3 and Frenzy which is 4.  I had forgotten that Frenzy is also a skin and nail stainer which might not have been too bad for it was also very thin and I did a newbie move and flooded my cuticles then had pink stained skin for the rest of my pix.

Topped everything off with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using assortment images from MoYou Tropical Collection 15 and 16 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

MoYou Tropical Collection-16 (with a sneak peak of my red polka dot jammies!)

MoYou Tropical Collection-15

Finished with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Even though I had on base coat, I still have a hot pink accent from Colors by llarowe Frenzy.  I've tried several known methods to in an attempt to remove the staining, but nothing has worked yet.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Music

Today's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge is music; instead of doing something more traditional, I did a Snoop Dogg mani!  I feel like such a real rebel wearing this; so out of my comfort zone as I've never taken anything stronger than an aspirin and have never even tried smoking never mind illegal drugs but here's what I came up with!  (I hope no one gets the wrong idea if they see this on my nails as I even wore it to work today!)

Started with a base of two coats each of CND Bicycle Yellow and Pahlish Pistache, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Sponged Colors by llarowe Camo on the Pahlishes.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

The next steps took some time and I did some stamping while waiting for polishes to try so no real step by stamp but pretty self explanatory.  Taped off accent nails and did stripes using CND Poppyfield and CND Green Scene; stamped on the sponging using MdU 11, 8 and FUN red stamping polishes using MoYou Back to the 60's -01 and FUN clear jelly stamper for placement.

MoYou Back to the 60's-01

I had pulled this plate as thought I might use it but the image was a little too big; Bundle Monster BM07.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

The great thing about the jelly stamper is you can place the images on top of your base imperfections! Stamped ring finger using FunkyFingers Dark Knight using MoYou Roxy Collection-06 and same image from MoYou Back to the 60's-01 on the thumb.

Finished with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Here's the other music mani's!

Thanks for looking; have a great (long if you are in Canada) weekend!

Digit-al Dozen Does Whimsy; Day 5

I'm a few days late for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen whimsy challenge but took a long weekend as it was a PA day and DS2 had no school on Friday, so headed to cottage country a little early.  While I had my nails done, didn't have time to post them before I went so here they are now!  This mani is also doing double duty for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Neon challenge; I had added prompt of saran wrap.

Started with a base of neon skittles; starting at the thumb and going clockwise:  Girly Bits Hip Hip Hurray, Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero, Girly Bits Get Indie Flow, LA Girl Disco Brites Deejay, and China Glaze Shocking Pink (Neon); all are shown with two coats, no top coat.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Did saran wrap smooshing finger by finger to make sure they were wet for the saran smoosh.  Starting at the thumb and going clockwise:  SBP 05.11.1 over Girly Bits Hip Hip Hurray; It's Hoop To Be Square over Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero; Girly Bits Thumb Your Melons over Girly Bits Get Indie Flow; Girly Bits Hoop! There It is over LA Girl Disco Brites Deejay; and China Glaze Celtic Sun over China Glaze Shocking Pink (Neon)

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Marianne Nails n.103 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight with accent of FunkyFingers Gesso.  I did the accent in white as I didn't think the black stamping would show up very well on the darker colours but in hindsight, I think they might have been OK.

I thought they might look a little bit more whimsy looking with some added dot accents so added random dots to the flower centers using same stamping polishes and topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish (first pix).

Here's the other ladies Day 5 whimsy manis ....and officially this challenge has ended!

Here's the other 40 Great Nail Art Ideas neon mani's too!

Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend; thanks for looking!
