Digit-al Dozen Does Monochrome; Day 3

Today's the first day in almost a week that I can see clearly and not everything is all blurred and fuzzy. Thanks everyone for their kind words left in the comments or those who messaged me in various forms of social media!

I'm still wearing the snowflake mani from yesterday's post as I love it so much (not to mention that my desire to eat chips and dip superseded my desire to do my nails last night!), so pulled this out of archives from early December 2013.  Unfortunately, I'm a little late getting this up and posted; it's probably Day 4 for some ladies on the other side of the pond but better late than never as the saying goes!

Started with a base of Dance Legend Spectrum #5, no topcoat.

Different lighting.

Stamped using Revlon Chrome Punch using an image from FUN 8.

Different lighting.

Topped with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Quick Dry Topcoat to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 3 monochrome nails.  I had a look at them earlier in the day and of course, they are amazing...as always!

Thanks for looking!

Thriller!

Darkness Falls Across The Land
The Midnite Hour Is Close At Hand
Creatures Crawl In Search Of Blood
To Terrorize Y'awl's Neighbourhood
And Whosoever Shall Be Found
Without The Soul For Getting Down
Must Stand And Face The Hounds Of Hell
And Rot Inside A Corpse's Shell
The Foulest Stench Is In The Air
The Funk Of Forty Thousand Years
And Grizzy Ghouls From Every Tomb
Are Closing In To Seal Your Doom
And Though You Fight To Stay Alive
Your Body Starts To Shiver
For No Mere Mortal Can Resist
The Evil Of The Thriller...

I had this concept in the back of my mind for a while now...to create a Halloween mani based upon Michael Jackson's Thriller video; this is what I came up with!

Before I go any further, I will mention that some of the pix have been edited. I very rarely ever edit my pix (as I'm sure you can tell!) but some of my cuticles were just a mess by the time this mani was finished so I blurred the cuticle edges in a few of the pix.  Even with the blur some is a little obvious but it hides the majority of it!

Did a base of one coat of one coat of Sinful Colors Cool Gray on all fingers except pinky which is one coat of CND Blackjack.  No topcoat.

Sponged using Barry M Gray, Sinful Colors Jungle Trail and Leap Frog.

Added eyes on pinky using L'Oreal The Temptress' Touch.  Stamped using assortment of images; FUN 8 (moon), LLC-B (tree), MoYou Back to the 50's-01 (car), Chez Halloween 001 (zombie on index), MJ XXV (zombie on middle), Sugar Bubbles 001 (zombie on ring; grave on middle) and HD04 (graveyard on index) all using black Konad special polish.

Added a little red to the eyes on the pinky and tree branches on middle.  I tried to hand draw branches on the index finger but it was a miserable fail so made it appear to be a zombie in the background.  I somehow ended up with red polish on the thumb in the process and added a branch on the moon to hopefully conceal it and tried to sponge over the other section but didn't really cover it all that well.  Then topped with SV.

Bonus shot of my thumb, which I though looked pretty cool!

A closer look at a couple of the plates used.

MJ XXV

I did this mani a couple nights ago with the full intent of doing a few more Halloween mani's....but the cuticle mess put a damper on my plans plus I wanted to give them a chance to calm down without the aggravation of remover etc. so unfortunately this put an end of any more Halloween mani's for this year....but there's always next year!

Have a safe Halloween!

Fall Leaves

Fall is upon us here in Ontario; in the GTA, leaves are just starting to turn but in cottage country a few hours north, the fall colours have been out in their glory for two or more weeks!  I thought I'd do a fall themed mani; here's what I came up with.

Started with a base of two coats of Sally Hansen CSM Butterscotch, topped with SV.  If someone would have told me a few years ago that I'd be wearing a mustard shade of yellow....on purpose.....I'd say they were nuts...but I've reached for this colour several times already.  It seems to be my shade of choice for the fall season; similar to when I kept on reaching for China Glaze Kalahari Kiss time and time again last year...another fugly I never thought I'd like!

Stamped using FUN 8 with assortment of polishes; Essence Do You Speak Love?, Nubar On the Radar, Sally Hansen Insta-dri Lickety-Split Lime and Jumpin' Jade.

Topped with SV to finish.

A pix of the other hand; it's slightly different.  (I think I like how it turned out better lol!)

A pix I took a few weekends ago that was used for  inspiration!

Here's a closer look at FUN 8.

Hope you're having a great week; thanks for looking!
