Holo Gradient

My apologies for not finishing up on the Digit-al Dozen challenge week.  Unfortunately, I only had three of the five mani's done with the intention of doing the remainder during the challenge week but haven't been able to do my nails since last Monday due to swelling. So rather than my blog sit idle, will be sharing some archived mani's and again, sure do hope I can do the last two days of the Fairy Tale challenge as they have been so much fun to do this week!  Hopefully you've had a chance to check out all the ladies mani's; they have been amazing!

For this mani, I decided upon a sponged holo gradient. My friend from Fab Ur Nails had kind enough to sent me a bottle of her glue that she uses around her skin for easy removal with my last order, so I applied it along the edges and waited for it to dry.

Started with a base of Smitten Polish Sunny Side Up; two coats, no top coat.

Did a gradient using Different Dimensions HO3 and Different Dimensions Werewolves of London.

Peeled off the glue once the gradient was sponged on.  In hindsight, I should have waited until I stamped but didn't figure this out until after lol!

After glue removal and clean up.

Top coated before stamping.

Stamped using black FUN stamping polish using H27.

Top coated to finish.

This pix was the best I could do to see the holo but it was still faint.

Hope you're having a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Snow White for Poisonous Challenge

I just realized that I've never posted this!  I did this mani for FB Adventures in Stamping when the challenge was poisonous some time ago. This is what I had posted for the challenge.

You remember Snow White? Her wicked step mother, the Queen, was beautiful but evil. She asked her magic mirror, "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?". The mirror always said the Queen until one day, it said Snow White. The Queen was furious, and ordered her huntsman to kill Snow White. He took her to the forest but could not kill her. She was found by the 7 Dwarfs and she went to live with them. One day, the Queen again asked her mirror who was the fairest of them all and the mirror again answered Snow White. The queen discovered Snow White was living in the forest so turned herself into an old hag and knocked on the door of the cottage in the woods. Snow White answered; the Queen asked Snow White if she would like to buy an apple. Snow White couldn't resist but the apples were POISONOUS! She took a bite and then fell into a deep sleep. Many years later, a young Prince came across Snow White, kissed her and the spell from the POISONOUS apple was broken! And they lived Happily Ever After in the Prince's Castle!

Started with a base of OPI Bride's Bouquet (no pix as I've shared many times before...its just your basic white!) with Finger Paints Black Expressionism on thumb to accent.

Stamped using assortment of white Konad stamping polishes using  SdP 38 (evil Queen), fauxnad D (couple kissing), SdP 30 (Snow White), SdP 71 (castle), SdP XXL2 (apple), SdP 27 (mirror).

Added a few more images that were QA 18 (bitten apples and small heart above couple), SdP 29 (spider), fauxnad H27 (fireworks) and fauxnad H47 (bird above Snow White).

Added a few dots for interest.

Topped with SV.

Another fauxnad image plate that has a few Snow White images just arrived; however, its untried as of yet.  I ordered from same eBay seller as noted on the pix and you can check it out here!

Thanks for looking!

OPI DS Amethyst

We've had some beautiful sunny days recently, which got me to thinking, why haven't I wore any holos lately? I took maybe 100 pictures or more of this mani and had such a hard time paring it down to a few as there were so many cool ones to show, so warning of picture overload!

After two coats of OPI DS Amethyst, I coated with one coat of the OPI DS topcoat. After letting dry for a bit, as its not really quick dry like SV, stamped using IP H27 with Konad special polish in royal purple. After taking a bunch of pix, I topped it with another coat of the DS topcoat.

These pix were taken in sunlight the following morning.

More pictures in artificial light; including a pre-clean up one. This special polish cleans up so much nicer than the black special polish. It really was a breeze!

Of all the pix I took, this one below is the most in real life. The DS is kinda dusty purple and the stamping is dark purple siding on navy, not bright blue as some of the pix portray. But the pix with the holo are so much cooler!

A couple pix of DS Amethyst by itself in various lighting. I'm so glad that these pix show better cleanup and application than my mani from a few days ago with Orly Frisky as it looks like a child applied it! LOL! Redemption! Still not perfect, but an improvement for sure!

Thanks for looking....and I hope you're having a sunny day too!

Here We Go Again: Fauxnad Plates HB26-HB30

Halloween is just a few short weeks away so of course, had to use plate hb26. Here's my pre-Halloween mani using the 2009 OPI Hallowe'en mini set.

Orange polish is Tattoo You Want Candy; black is Witch Arm which were both included in the set. There's also a blurple glow in the dark polish and white and a bunch of tatoos. Then stamped with fauxnad plate hb28. I also used fauxnad plates T13 and T28. I can't wait to use these plates again to create some more Halloween mani's in the upcoming weeks!

Used Konad black special polish and silver is Nicole by OPI in Positive Energy.
This image was taken in the sun, which is more colour accuarate but shows all those terrible hangnails and dry cuticles. I was at work and took this pix quickly without moisturing. :(

Here's the plates! Click on image for better view!
