......baby one more time

It's funny where you can get the inspiration for mani's sometimes.  I was going through some IG accounts checking out some sites that had music on them for inspiration and came across Britney Spears video of .....baby one more time, amoungst others.  Then, when I sat down to do Back to School nails last night, I seen the one uniform image on one of the plates that I thought kinda looked like the uniform that Britney wore in the video (with some liberties, of course!) and then I thought, hey, I have a plate with some Britney images on them...and this weeks #MusicManiMonday was born, I just had to execute it.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish White Pop and Nicole by OPI Naturally, no top coat.

Topped the Cupcake Polish with Seche Diamond Dust, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using NOPI Naturally and Color Club All That Razz.  Earlier, I had made a couple stamper decals from Beauty Big Bang City-XL001 and applied them on the thumb and pinky.  Used MdU 13 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief for the decal on the pinky and MdU 73 and 91 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief on the thumb, as well as Painted Polish Blanc Slate for the uniform shirt.

Added rest of the images from Journails by NiinasNails Women in Music using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief  and MdU 29.  I shrunk all images from this plate and I seriously cannot believe how good I shadow stamped the middle image considering I shrunk the image and both times, they shrunk to the same size and THEN!, I shadow stamped it to perfection.  I was so exciting; I never do this good of a line up so I was super stoked about this win!  Also added a few hearts from the same Beauty Big Bang plate mentioned above.  It was too bad I didn't position it slightly better so it was all on the nail, but I'll still take it as a win!

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did some research on the video .....baby one more time prior to doing this mani; watched the video several times and urge you to go check it out as the nails may make more sense!  But if you don't, this is the album cover that had Britney's break out hit, which was used on the ring finger.

Here's Britney in that famous school hall scene in her uniform; used for the thumb inspiration with a little creative liberty.

This image is from near the end of the video when she's in the gym sitting on the bleachers with a basketball, which was inspiration for the pinky.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks #MusicManiMonday and thanks for looking!

Back To School!!

School aged kids are heading back to school although some districts have already started and some are integrating over the next few weeks.  But after a 5 month March break, school started back in my area so I thought I'd do some back to school nails!  Here's what I came up with!

After doing a base coat of white, applied three coats of OPI Need Sunglasses? on index and pinky, then did a stamper smooshy base using it and Color Club Blazed, Gosh Blue Balloon, Nicole by OPI and One Time Lime, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, stamped images from What's Up Nails B030 on pinky, index and thumb and the rest with UberChic UC mini:  School is Cool.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's Ms. Cindy (aka my test hand); I really wanted the school bus image on my nails but it would only fit on the thumb and I wanted the words on it so had to use another image.

I don't know about you, but I'm anxious to see how kids if kids going back to school is going to have any impact on the spread of COVID-19 in our area; keeping my mask strings crossed it does not.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  All the best to you and yours in 2019!

These are the nails I'll be wearing to ring in the new year!  Pretty fancy nails to be wearing while watching tv in my pajamas but that's OK!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of JReine Cosmetics Goldschlager.  What a stunner!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Stamped using CbL Panther Stamping Polish using image from Sugar Bubbles SBS 014.  I really like this look just by itself lol!

I decided to do some shadow stamping; did numbers using Nicole by OPI Positive Energy using images from Maniology M042.  Used image HD-B on thumb.

Shadow stamped using same images with MdU 2.

Love!  I know there's a lot happening here and it is pretty blingy especially with holo base then holo stamping polish then silver on top of the gold!  I'm glad I did the shadow stamping to make the numbers and words pop a little better.

Added KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Enjoy New Year's Eve whether you are sitting on the couch watching the ball drop like me or are out and about enjoying the festivities.  Be safe!

Lemons!

Here's the nail art portion of the lemon mani I shared with the Cuter Cuticles IEC 2018 Exclusive trio! I don't think there are too many items that you can't find in an image on a stamping plate so it was fantastic to find so many lemon images on stamping plates....and I even found more after I did these!

Started with a base of Moyra Vivid Sand 717 Sunshine over a coat of Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights with an accent of OPI Black Onyx.  I went with the sand look to try to mimic the texture of a lemon.

Stamped using images from Delaney Fruits 001 (middle and thumb), MoYou Tropical Collection-08 (index), Wistonia W118 (pinky) and Lina 4 Seasons-Summer 02 (ring) using Funky Fingers Dark Knight; MdU 11 was used on accent.

MoYou Tropical Collection-08

MoYou Tropical Collection-09  (I didn't use this plate as the images were too large for my nails but took pictures of it as I thought I was going to.)

Top coated just the accent finger to finish.

I think these could also be super cute summer nails and can see myself doing something like this in the future!  Thanks for looking!

Welcome Spring!

It's 12:15 p.m. and spring has officially arrived!  While it's far too cold here for any flowers to be blooming yet, hopefully they will be here once it gets a little warmer!  According to the forecast, it won't be warm for about three more weeks.  In the meanwhile, floral nails will have to do!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  Then dry brushed with an assortment of polishes: KBShimmer In Yacht Water, KBShimmer Bahama Drama, KBShimmer Hugs and Wishes, KBShimmer Little Boy Hue, Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, The Kit Smoothie Delight and Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails Professional n18 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  I have no idea what happened to the middle finger; all I can think of is I forgot to remove the stamped image from the stamp before. Duh! I don't know what I was thinking lol!  I tried to do the brush stroking where I thought the flower would be stamped but that didn't work out all the well on all the fingers.  Maybe just the thumb lol.

Ms. Cindy didn't turn out too badly either; in fact, in some ways, I like it better, especially the thumb!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought the mani would look cool if it was matted, so after dotting flower centers to change it up a bit, added a coat of OPI matte.

I don't know about you, but I am glad spring is officially here!  I just hope it truly is the end of winter; no more snow!  I guess we'll see!

Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  This month's theme is stamping!  I do stamping all the time so that's not too much of a challenge for me; finally a theme I can do with ease!  But because it's Digit-al Dozen challenge week and I know the other ladies stamping mani's will be off the charts, I tried to pick some of my better mani's and those that are a little bit more challenging; to me anyway!  Here's what I did for day 1!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using Misslyn Lemon Green, Misslyn Head Over Heels, Butter London Keks, Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights and Orly Neon Heat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Creative Shop 16 using MdU 2.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies day 1 mani's!
