Perseid Meteor Showers

I did these nails in anticipation of the Perseid Meteor Showers today into tomorrow early morning hours; however, as I type this post, it is storming with thunder, lightning and rain, with the forecast calling for showers until 5 am, so the chances of seeing them tonight is dwindling.  But at least I can look at the meteor showers on my nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base of lots of polishes; this was the result.  Polishes used are Zoya Juvia, Penelope Luz Forbidden Love, Penelope Luz Nymphs, Phoenix Klaus, Chance 093, Morgan Taylor Deja Blue, Morgan Taylor Totally Betty and China Glaze Blue Raspberry Ice, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Maniology M535 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.  If you check the image on the plate, you will see that I stamped it sideways to mimic the showers.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This was Ms. Cindy; did two coats of China Glaze Blue Rasperry Ice topped with Ribbits Scary Stories To Tell In the Dark.

Stamped with same image from Maniology M535 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I'm going to check for the meteor showers periodically before I go to bed and if by chance I don't see any, I'm sure there will be lots of images on the web to see from those who were lucky enough to see them!

I Can Buy Myself Flowers!

Here is yet another blue floral mani!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie Hyperlinked, no top coat.  Hyperlinked is one of my favourite blue base polishes!

Topped accent nails with a thin coat of Penelope Luz Taurus 10 Years, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Kads Flower 062 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

PS: I have no need to buy myself flowers lol!  Am blessed 😁 But I could if I wanted to!

Happy Easter!!

Hopefully everyone had a good Easter weekend!  Here's the final set of Easter nails that I have to share this year!

MdU AZ Easter

MdU AZ Easter 2

Started with skittles; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  Essie Take The Lead, Zoya Kay, China Glaze Holy Sugar!, Zoya Lena and Zoya Tilda, no top coat.

Topped with Penelope Luz Scocery, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to do some tone on tone stamping:  used MdU AZ Easter for words and index image and MdU AZ Easter 2 for the rest; I shrank some images and also double stamped some images to get image opaque.  Stamping polishes used were CjS 165, CjS 212, CjS 218, Painted Polish Stamped in Royalty and MdU 11.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Green Ribbons!

This is another great image for stamping that has some interest and lets lots of the base polish or polishes as in this case, shine through!

Started with a base of two coats of Quo Beauty Xtreme X Matte Tealicious, no top coat.

Topped using Penelope Luz Sunset in Rio, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Different lighting.

Stamped using Dixie Plates Mega Mani Mix 04 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

It's the Season!

Dandelions started to sprout up on our lawn this week and pretty soon, dandilion fluff will be flying everywhere, so it's a good time to share these nails!

Started with a base of two coats of Quo Beauty Fierce, no top coat.

Topped with Penelope Luz Flower Fairy.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Nicole Diary L20 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Grrr, the top coat smear is soo annoying; this is why I started topping my mani's with Apipila smudge-free top coat; this might be one of the last mani's I did before using it.  I first seen it via Polish Pickup and thankfully, Girly Bits also stocks it...although I think I've stocked up a lifetime supply lol.

Then topped with matte top coat; shows the flakies!

Hearts!

When I sat down to do these nails, I didn't necessarily have Valentine's Day nails in mind; all I knew is I wanted to use the black flakies topper.  But as I had VDay plates beside me, I thought, I can turn this into a VDay mani and so be was; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of brights; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  Fancy Gloss Imperial, Color Club Blaze, Color Club Peace Out Purple, Color Club Chelsea Girl and Fancy Gloss Mojito.  I didn't realize Mojito was a thermal until I had it on my right hand and it kept on turning neon yellow!  It still worked with this colour scheme and thankfully, my pinky didn't transition (cold hands all the time!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Topped with Magic Touch by Penelope Luz Los Muertos, no top coat.

Stamped using image from UberChic Love & Marriage 03 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Except I wasn't finished; I noticed some of the hearts, you could see base polish through, so handpainted them to opaque then topped again with top coat.

I also thought this would be a great time to do a matte top coat; really liked how this turned out too.

I think of all the black flakes that I have and I'm thinking, I can stamp this look with an image, why do I buy polishes?  But I do; thankfully, this wasn't that difficult to remove as I didn't put a peel off base on first.

Also, I love this look with the Color Club Blaze (index) and I do want to do a full mani just with it just as shown.  Maybe next year!
