Green and Blue Holo!

I've been super busy with life so that is why you will see a rash of posts and then none; if you see them reguarly, it's because I was able to grab a few hours and do a bunch of scheduled posts.  And unfortunately because I'm so busy, it also means that I'm not doing as much with my nails.  I'm still painting and stamping them regularly but a mani might be half an hour versus the 1, 1.5, 2 or more hours that I would have spent before.  So my mani's have been relatively simple, as have my posts.  This is one of those simple manis with the accompanying simple post!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Jade Hypnose and Oasis, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Creative Shop 59 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Let's Go Blue Jays, Let's Go!!!

Here's one for the home team!  It's do or die tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays; even though Sunday's game was a nail biter, tonight's game is going to be just as tense!  Here's to hoping the Jays win and move on to division series....otherwise, its the end of the season for them.  LET'S GO, BLUE JAYS, LET'S GO!!!

Started with a base of two coats each of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with accent of Sinful Colors Endless Blue.

I made stamper decals last night, but forgot to top coat them either last night or early enough so didn't do until I sat down to do my nails this morning.  I kinda rushed the stamper decals; the clear was a little gummier than I wanted making the decals tacky and fragile; not the easiest to use.

Added the stamper decal to the thumb (with a little damage as it kind of disintegrated into the clear base because it was too fresh if this makes sense; the clear needed to harden a bit more really but was rushed!), then added images from my second custom plate, Canadian Nail Fanatic 002 with Fig Tree Stamps, using Girly Bits Cobalt stamping polish, and MdU black and white.

Added random dots using Jade Special Glitz Miami Beach and Jade Diamond Scarlet for filler, jazz it up a little and make it just a little bit girlier!

Topped everything off with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

The hubs and I will be glued to the tv tonight at 8:08 and we're hoping the Jays win......LET'S GO, BLUE JAYS; LET'S GO! (clap, clap!)

I know this might not be your team but at least it might give some ideas for other sport team nails!

Jade Diamond Exuberant

When I sat down to do my nails the night I did these, I was looking for something pretty simple and easy to do as I didn't have a whole lot of time to do my nails (which is about 90% of the time lol).  Howeverrrr, thanks to some very uncooperative clear jelly stampers (aka, any brand I tried and it was a few), these nails took way longer than I wanted and eventually, I ended up using my regular semi squishy stamper and hoped for the best placement wise.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Jade Diamond Exuberant, shown below with no top coat.  Application and cleanup was great! So sad that Jade polishes are no longer around.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Not colour accurate but love this colour lol!

I had picked an image from Born Pretty BP-L024 for some simple stamping, which would provide contrast and interest as well as shown the base nicely through.  However, this image was a PITA to pick up with any jelly stamper.  So, so, so many attempts as picking up that resulted in either part images or no image no matter what brand of jelly stamper I went with.  I fooled around with the jelly stampers for my right hand (which I usually do first as my test hand) but for these nails, I eventually went with my regular FAB semi squishy stamper and hoped for the best placement wise.  They didn't turn out that bad!  There were a couple places that I had to fill in with a brush but all in all, pretty happy how these worked out placement wise.

This is different lighting and the polish isn't that accurate colour wise but you can see in a couple places on the index and thumb that I painted in the void with a brush.  On the positive, the interest of the base shows through in these pix so its a good image to use if you are looking for this but too bad not more colour accurate!

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.  I'm always leery of purples and greens and even some blues that the polish bleeds through when the top coat is applied turning the white stamping light purple, but happy to report that this is not one of them!

Jade Holografico Delirio Rosa and NM07

As I sit and wait for some stamper decals to dry for some what I'm hoping to be really cool nails for Digit-al Dozen week while watching today's Olympic highlights, I thought I'd share this easy peasy, simple mani from a few weeks ago!

Started with a base of two coats of Jade Holografico Delirio Rosa, shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using an image from Nail Matinee NM07 using a FAB clear stamper to help with image placement (and still not perfect!)

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Different lighting; look at that holo!!!!

Hope you're having a great week; thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 3

Today is Flag Day so I combined Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen rainbow challenge and came up with a variety of flags including the LGPT Flag to make it challenge appropriate!

Started by making assortment of stamper decals using MdU polishes and acrylic paints.  I did the rainbow flag a couple nights ago and as a result it was a little on the brittle side so some of the paint flaked off but it wasn't the easiest to make so I decided to use it anyway.  I can't begin to say how much time I spent on that one image; looking up line plates then measuring them against my nail to see that six lines would fit, tried making lines using nail vinyls, then used nail stencils; after lots of trial and error and placement, went with Chez Divers 003.  Did three stripes using the image, then filled in the lines using other colours.  Also used images from MoYou Tourist Collection 02 (American flag), MoYou N16 (Union Jack), Chez Divers 003 (LGBT flag), MoYou Tourist Collection 03 (flag of France), Konad A1 (Australian flag) and CNF Custom with Fig Tree (Canadian flag).

I used a clear stamper for the first time for the American flag and I have to say, it is so nice to see everything as you go along; I'll have to keep it in mind for stamper deals in the future!  After I applied a couple of the stamper decals onto the nail, I noticed little bits that were missed as I paint onto a dark base but its a lot easier so see how you are doing with a clear stamper!

Applied the decals directs to the middle, pinky and thumb and did some filling in on the nails to fill as well as fixed up the rainbow flag a bit more.  For the index and ring finger, applied two coats of Jade Cremoso Alga Marinha; then applied the British Flag direct to the index.  For the ring, stamped on a couple clouds using Konad m79 using FunkyFingers Guesso, then added the Canadian flag.

I did a stamper decal using MoYou Tourist Collection-03 but didn't end up using it; not enough fingers!

Applied a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Did a touch up on a couple flags then added another coat of top coat to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 2

It's Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen rainbow week; I did rainbow skittles!

For the skittles, used all Jade Holografico polishes; Deja Vu, Hypnose, Oasis, Fascinio Violeta and Mirage; all are two coats except Hypnose and Fascinio Violeta, which are three.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  This is one of my current fave images; I've used it a few times now.  It's one of those images that is interesting yet you see the beauty of the base through which I look for often when stamping.

Emily de Molly EDM06 over Jade OMG, Sands!

I did this mani recently on a night when I wanted to change my polish but didn't have a whole lot of time to do my nails (aka most nights!).  Sometimes the simplest nails can be the most effective and I think this is one of them; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of one....yes, one! coat of Jade Special Glitz Sand's Collection OMG, Sands!, no top coat. The formula was very thick but had good coverage.  I'm not sure if the thickness of the polish is normal or my bottle needed some thinner but even though it was thick, I was able to apply it decently!

Stamped using Emily De Molly EDM06** using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.  I love this image; I've worn it twice in a very short time!  That says a lot when you have as many plates as I do but I find that it is quite versatile and is a great image for when you want the added interest of a stamped image but still want the beauty of the base to shine through!  As you can see, even though the lines on this image are very fine, the etching is clear and crisp.  The quality on this plate is excellent; cleaning of the plate was easy as there were no rough edges that catch the cotton nor was there any issue with the scraper catching the image during the scrape.

Emily de Molly EDM06

Didn't apply top coat as this is a texture polish even though in first pix, I'm holding a top coat bottle.  That was because it was hard to photograph holding the Jade bottle.  Even though this polish is textured, removal wasn't that hard.  It wasn't as easy to remove as a creme but not as difficult as a glitter; not too bad anyway even thought it might look really rough! I had more of an issue with all the glitter flecks being everywhere after removal; I'm sure a couple of them made their way into the mani I wore after this one!

Emily de Molly stamping plates and vinyls can be purchased via their store here with shipping from Australia. There is also a US Emily de Molly estore here that also ships plates and polishes to US and Canada.  Emily de Molly products are also available via these stocklists with many offering international shipping!

Digit-al Dozen Does Inspired by Pinterest; Day 2

I'm late getting my post up; it's just been one of those days!  But it's Day 2 of inspired by Pinterest; here's what I came up with when I was searching some landscape pictures!

This is the mani I was inspired by.  My nails are a little darker and closer to the inspired pix than my picture portray but I still really liked how my nails turned out!

Started with a base of one coat of Colors by llarowe It's Shocking! no top coat.  I love this pink; it seems to be my perfect pink holo and a one coater to boot!  I think I need to find a backup!

Did a sponged gradient using Jade Over The Rainbow and Colors by llarowe Oops!

Added a few lines with a brush onto the pink portion using Jade Fascinio Violeta to try to mimic landscape shading from inspired pix.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Using Funky Fingers Dark Knight, stamped in scenery using MoYou Mother Nature Collection-14 (thumb and pinky) and Infinity 58 (index, middle and ring).

Top coated to finish.

Decided to finish it off with matte, added a coat of Girly Bits Polish Matte'rs.

Here's the other ladies Day 2 mani's!
