Hello Fall!

Hello fall!

Well, fall is well upon us; there is lots of fall colour, the temperatures are cool, the fireplace has run a few times and I'm sipping hot chocolate as I type this post!  I did a lot of fall mani's this fall and this is one, if not, the favourite fall mani that I did this year.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin, then top coated it with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Once it had dried, did a sponged gradient using the base, China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin, Morgan Taylor Sweet Morning Dew and OPI Suzi Needs a Loch-Smith.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 01 and Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 03 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and MdU 66 and 59.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hello Fall!

These nails are from 2018; in fact, this blog post was typed and scheduled almost a year ago!  Another fall mani that was done along with so many others and unfortunately I ran ran out of time before I had time to do a post.  So here's another fall mani on the first day of fall; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Colores de Carol The King Roars from August 2018 Polish Pickup.  Love, love, love this polish!  Funky colour and flakies; what's not to love!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 01 and 02 using MdU 9, 11 and 53.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Different lighting; can see the stamping a little better!

Too Soon?

I knew when I sat down to do my nails last night that it was calling for rain and because I've been wearing lots of neons and brights lately, I decided to wear something a little toned down.  I was looking through my IEC 2019 haul and seen these polishes and thought they would make a cool skittle fall mani.  This is what I came up with!

Started with a skittle base of Bees Knees Lacquer Bucking Bronco, Alter Ego Uncommonly Me, Bees Knees Lacquer Hell Knight, Alter Ego Happy I'm Not Like The Others and Alter Ego Being Myself.  All the Alter Ego polishes are two coats; the Bees Knees are three.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped on some fall leaves using image from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 01 using MdU 9, 11, 32, 51 and 66 (and not all them necessarily on each nail).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The Bees Knees have this pretty delicate shimmer in them so I decided to apply a matte top coat to highlight it; applied one coat of Glisten & Glow matte.

We had a late start to summer and I believe I heard it's forecasting for a warm fall so oodles of time so don't worry that I'll be sharing fall manis now.  I still have lots of summer looks to share before the leaves really change and the wind blows colder!  Just a nice change from the brights and neons that I've been wearing lately!

Paint It Pretty Polish Tetra Tears; October 2018 Polish of the Month

How appropriate that this stunning purple is the October 2018 Paint It Pretty Polish of the Month as so shade appropriate now that the cooler temperatures have arrived at our door!  Such a pretty fall and winter shade, yet bright enough that it could easily be worn in the warmer months of the year too!  (Or you're like me and wear whatever you want all year round!  However, that's another blog post!) But don't wait too long as this Pretty Polish of the Month is only available here from October 1, 2018 to October 31, 2018 and then it will be retired to the vaults so you won't want to delay in picking it up!

Shown is two coats of Paint It Pretty Polish Tetra Tears*** no top coat.

Paint It Pretty Polish Tetra Tears has red to gold aurora shimmer in a purple base.

There were no application issues and no streaking; the brush applied the polish easily; clean up was a breeze, as was removal. There was no staining of the skin or nail upon removal.

Bottle Shot.  You can really see the gold and red shimmers highlighted.

As I'm sharing a few fall mani's right now, I decided to stamp with a leaf pattern, this is an image from Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 01 stamped with Hit the Bottle Musk Have the Holo, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Paint It Pretty Polish Tetra Tears is available at the Paint It Pretty etsy store here from October 1, 2018 to October 31, 2018 for $11.  Paint It Pretty Polishes are vegan, 5 free, cruelty free and made in small batches in Canada.

Digit-al Dozen Does White; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; the theme this month is white!  As you know, I've been sporting real shorties for the last couple weeks and have been busy getting my Indie Expo Canada 2018 posts done (one of which will post later today) so really haven't had a lot of time to do white nails.  Thankfully, I have quite a few mani's in archives that are suitable so I can still participate in the challenge!  Here's my day 1 mani!

Started with a base of two coats of Julep Hayden, no top coat.  I remember all the hype over this colour from one single mani post and had to have it....but of course, never wore it.  The bottle has a case of ugly bottle syndrome but it still looks nice enough!

Did a sponged gradient using Maquillage OR450; this was a gift from my sister-in-law from a couple years ago; my brother and her live in Japan, so I doubt this is a brand that is that familiar here in Canada or even North America.  Looking at these pictures, I should have done a few more coats of gradient but oh well; I can live with this.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top

Stamped using Lina 4 Seasons-Autumn 01 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Added a couple accent studs, then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 1 mani's!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my US nail friends who are celebrating today!  I hope you are spending it with friends and family, being thankful for all today!  I did this little Thanksgiving mani for anyone celebrating today!

Started with a base of Picture Perfect Autumn on the thumb and OPI My Boyfriend is Buff on the rest of the nails (no pix, sorry).  Stamped Delaney Automne 003 on middle using a mix of Mdu 13 and 32.  Applied stamper decals I had made from Lina 4 Seasons - Autumn 01 on ring, index and pinky and Creative Shop 91 on thumb.  The polishes used for the decals were Picture Polish Autumn and Jealousy.

Stamper decals.
