Digit-al Dozen Does Gradient; Day 3

This is probably one of my most favourite gradient mani's EVER!  Purple!  Holo! What's not to love!  Well, I guess you might not be too impressed if you're not a purple or holo lover lol but it is right up my alley!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Polish II Another World; shown with no top coat.  I haven't seen much posted about these Polish II's but I get them at local supply place at a great price so have a bunch of them!

Added coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

For the gradient, sponged on Colors by Llarowe Fall-o Me.  This was the October 2015 polish of the month.  In hindsight, I'm not sure why I top coated before sponging.....but I did.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using an image from UberChic Love & Marriage-01 using Funky Fingers Guesso.  I picked this image so just enough stamping while still allowing the cool base to show through.  I put different pieces of the image randomly on the nail for added interest.

This isn't the best swatch picture but it shows the amazing rainbow of colours in Colors by Llarowe Fall-O Me so post worthy!

Finished with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 3 gradients; there have been some amazing manis posted already this week so hopefully you've had a chance to check them out!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Pale Blue Base

It's back to 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge!  I'm a day late in posting but did have my nails done for Friday; hopefully, I won't be late next week!  This weeks theme was pale blue base; I had the added prompt of mermaid/scales.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Polish II Sky Blue; two coats on middle, ring and pinky and three on the remainder.  Two coats wasn't the best but I knew I would be adding a glitter top coat.

Added a coat of Shimmer Polish Sarah on the fingers that only had two coats and top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped mermaid scales using MdU 3 using an image from Bundle Monster BM-502.

Added a coat of top coat.

Made a stamper decal using an image from Marianne Nails n.89 using MoYou Ever Green, Funky Fingers Dark Knight, then filling in with acrylic paints.

Placed the stamper decal on index and middle.

Added seashells from Infinity 11 to middle using CND Sweet.  Started the mermaid tail by filling in with MdU 11 using a brush.

Once I was somewhat happy with the shape of the tail, filled it in a little bit more.  Added some more hair to the mermaid using MoYou Ever Green on middle finger.

Did a water scene on thumb to accent using images from Infinity 11.  Stamping polishes are MdU 11, 15, 39 and 59.

Added fish to the thumb using MdU 3 using an image from Bundle Monster BM-501.  Added some sand using Zoya Godiva.

Decided I wanted a fish school so triple stamped (or more, can't remember now).

Added a coat of 10.1 Polish Blueberry Blues to thumb for water look.  Top coated it all with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

This pix I think is one of the better ones that it flows well.  Its not perfect by any means but overall, I was apy how this turned out!

Here's the other ladies manis over a pale blue base with their various prompts!

Stamped Multicoloured Stripes

If you've seen the past mani's I've done using nail vinyls, you''ll know what my use of them is still a work in progress to say the least!.  I love the look of them though especially with multicolours, so thought I might be able to stamp on some lines using image plates better and faster.  To be honest, I but can't say for sure I accomplished either one of those things with these nails!   This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Polish II Come Later.  This pix has no topcoat.  I found this polish at my local beauty supply for $2 and you can bet I picked up all my favourite colours!  They are a little on the thin side for application but I prefer that; but they build well and cleanup is a breeze!

Top coated.

For the stamping, used the lines from BP-L009 but turned them sideways to stamp.  I used three Mundo de Unas polishes, #1, #2 and #33.

These straight lines can be troublesome with squishy stampers; I didn't do too bad except on the middle finger.  Because I did these nails before work one morning, I decided I could live with them but if I had time, I would have removed the middle nail stamping and stamped again.

Top coated to finish.  I should add that while I found these easier to do then nail vinyls, they still aren't perfect, and on a hardness scale from 1 to 10, these would be an 11. There's just so much that can go wrong; applying the polish so that it intermingles onto another line, scraping is straight, picking it up then transferring it onto the nail straight AND  with the lines straight, not all over the place.  That being said, I might be giving nail vinyls another go lol!

I do like how these turned out thought; the imperfections aren't that noticeable in real life.
