Hot Pink and Hearts!

One night last week, I sat down to do my nails but got sidetracked looking for images and ended up going through all my plates (I mean allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll my plates lol) . Anyone who has a number of plates knows that this can take some time! I like to go through them occasionally to set aside plates to potentially use for any themes or holidays, upcoming Digit-al Dozen challenges or special occasions or celebrations. Sometimes, I have an idea in my mind like a water scene for example so while I'm going through them, I pick out all plates that have water scened images and set them aside for when I finally decide to do that water scene mani.  Because, sometimes I have to be in the mood or have lots of time to do a particular theme or design or whatever so I have them ready for when the mood strikes! Stuff like this.  Sometimes I just discover a cool image that I had forgotten about and set it aside for the day I lack any inspiration to do anything special, or am pressed for time. Just makes it easier to look at a few plates when the time comes to do a mani versus a lot especially if you know in advance you are doing a Valentine's Day mani, for example. That way, there is a ready stash of plates set aside to use and only have to look through a stack of maybe 20 or 50 (or more depending on the theme) versus alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of them. Usually when I'm on image missions like this, I go through one or two brands a night over a week or so, not all at once.  Well, this night, before I knew it, it was 2 am when I was finally ready to paint my nails. While I had removed my polish and prepped my nails in anticipation of doing them that night, when I realized it was 2 am, I quickly went to bed for a few hours of sleep versus staying up longer to complete my nails.  The next morning, I did this mani in half an hour before heading out to work (including taking pix for the blog; this is probably a 15 minute mani at best).  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Glam Polish Pink Ladies; this is no topcoat.

This is such a me colour; I could wear this every day of the week and twice on Sunday's! (I have a back up bottle of this, for sure!)  Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using assortment of plates; Bunny Nails HD-A (pinky), Bunny nails HD-B (ring), FUN 13 (middle), CICI & SISI 03 (index) and no name plate from Walmart (thumb) using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Finished with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

FUN 13

THIS is one of the things I love about stamping; while this isn't a particularly hard mani to do, it is great that you can get an interesting mani in no time flat!  I have often commented that it takes longer to pick out the plates and polishes then to do my nails (when I don't have a bunch set aside, that is...because I don't always!) and this is a good example of how fast it can be done when pressed for time....and props goes a long way to quick dry top coat which speeds things along considerably!

Anniversary Nails...and Giveaway Reminders!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately; life has gotten in the way, which happens occasionally!

Last week, I celebrated my wedding anniversary; hard to believe I've been married 21 years now (feels like 41 years to be honest - joking...well, maybe not, lol!)  These were the nails I was wearing when the hubs and I went out that night for dinner!

Started with a base of F.U.N Lacquer Snow White, two coats, no topcoat.  Snow White is part of the recently released LE Princess 2.0 Collection.

Added assortment of images using red and black Konad special polish.  Infinity 23 (index), Chez Amour001 (thumb, middle and ring), HD-A (pinky and heart on thumb) and Nailways Back to Basics 123 ABC (numbers over ring).

Closer look at Chez Amour001.  I was happy I was able to use these wedding/engagement themed images and turn it around to work for my anniversary; lots of these images too would be suitable for Valentine's, too.

Thanks for looking

P.S.:  There's a couple giveaways that I'm involved in that are ending soon; The Digit-al Dozen has an amazing giveaway; here's the link....and the fantastic giveaway offered by Hobby Polish Bloggers is here; please take the time to check them out if you haven't already....if you want a chance to win som awesome prizes, that is!

Happy Easter!!!

Easter Sunday at my house starts with an Easter egg hunt so this was the inspiration for today's mani.  This is my Easter egg hunt mani!

Started with a base of two coats of NCLA AM: Beauty Sleep, PM: Shopping Spree from the Spring 2013 Life's A Beach collection, another polish sent for review by Nail Polish Canada.  This is two coats topped with SV.  NCLA AM: Beauty Sleep, PM: Shopping Spree is a smidgen darker in real life and is a very light mint green which isn't so obvious in these pix.  I don't have another polish this shade in my stash and it was a great creme base to highlight stamping.

I didn't take too many pix as I went along but this is two stamper decals (basket, plate T21 and kids, B.1) using assortment of Konad special polishes.  Other plates used were A35 (eggs on ring and index), Nailways Easter plate (eggs under basket on middle and bunny on pinky), HD-A (Happy Easter on thumb as well as all the grass) and Big SdP 0 (little bird on middle above basket).

Added a few dots (of course!) on the eggs on the middle and ring finger eggs for decoration.

Topped with SV.

Hopefully you had a fantastic Easter weekend; I just got home from having Easter dinner with my family and I'm still stuffed as I type this a few hours later!  And the kids had another Easter egg hunt this afternoon with all their cousins which was a lot of fun for them!

Let The Easter Mani's Begin!!!

Easter snuck up on me; it seems we just got over St. Patrick's Day mani's and for some reason, I thought I had a few weeks to get a few Easter mani's ready to post; I guess it's a little earlier than normal, which is why I thought I had more time.  Anyhooo, here's the first Easter mani I'm sharing.

Started with a base of two coats of Lime Crime Milky Ways; this is two coats then topped with SV.  I was going for a colour to mimic the colour of egg shells, more off white, but this polish is a little more tinted than I was expecting.

Stamped using HD-A (thumb, middle and all the eggs) and HD-B (pinky) using Beautiful Scratchers green stamping polish and Konad special polishes in pastel yellow, pastel blue, pastel lilac and pastel pink.

Added a few random dots using the same colours.

Topped with SV.

A pix in natural daylight (overcast).

I might as well name this weeks posts Easter Week...as I'm sure that's all I'll be featuring for the next little while being the holiday kind of gal I am!

Digit-al Dozen, Love and Heartbreak, Day 5

Here's the lone mani I did for this weeks theme that had heartbreak as part of it.

 photo Picture298_zpsba708d6d.jpg

Started with a base of two coats of Sinful Colors Cool Gray, topped with SV.

 photo Picture279_zpsecf3b1cf.jpg

Stamped using red and black Konad special polishes using Mash-31 (pinky), SdP D-07 (middle), SdP 85 (you and me on index), and HD-A (wording on thumb and heart on ring ringer).

 photo Picture280_zps2b166bc5.jpg

Added a few more images using VL003 (cross out circle on index), HD-A (separated heart on index; I stamped one half then the other as I was concerned it would be too large to fit the area), T23 (heart on thumb) and E01 (black roses on index).

 photo Picture292_zpsbe8af45f.jpg

Topped with SV.

 photo Picture325_zps3af3ad27.jpg

Hope you had a fantastic Valanetine's Day....and I hope you didn't have any heartbreak....because unforrtunatey Love Sucks sometimes.

Digit-al Dozen, Love and Heartbreak, Day 4

Happy Valentine's Day!  Well, belated by the time I get around to finishing this post!  I still have so many Valentine's Day mani's to share I thought I do something a little different and post a couple today!

 photo Picture658_zps8d08569d.jpg photo Picture615_zpsc15dda55.jpg

Here's the first one.

 photo Picture615_zpsc15dda55.jpg

Started with a base of one coat of OPI Red My Fortune Cookie and OPI Bride's Bouquet.

 photo Picture573_zpsd975067f.jpg

Added a layer of Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby and Lynnderella The Snow Cake; topped with Gelous and then SV.

 photo Picture579_zps5c665683.jpg

Stamped with HD-A using Konad red and white special polish.

 photo Picture602_zps7b50c6cd.jpg

Here's a pix of the HD plates** which were designed by Bunny Nails and are available here.  There are some really unique designs and any of the images I stamped, including a few that aren't on this mani, stamped wonderfully!  These two plates are full of themes and you'll want to check them out if you are a theme/holiday kinda stamper like me!

 photo Picture599_zps62e3a1d6.jpg

  photo Picture597_zps61f72e77.jpg

Topped with SV.  My only regret with this mani is that the The Snow Cake wasn't whiter; had I realized that it seemed so offwhiteish before hand, I would have picked another white glitter.

 photo Picture615_zpsc15dda55.jpg

Another one I did quick one night when I wanted a change of nails but didn't have much time!

 photo Picture632_zps2b7c1195.jpg

Started with one coat of Color Club Harp On It (yes....one coat!), no TC.

 photo Picture629_zps7b6c03ec.jpg

It dries fairly fast so stamped a couple minutes later with red Konad special polish using MJ II and accent of DRK A.

 photo Picture654_zps51f384a8.jpg

Yes, the alternating upside down hearts was on purpose...just for something different to change it up a bit!  I think this would be cool with the same images but with black stamping polish...another day perhaps!

 photo Picture658_zps8d08569d.jpg

Topped with Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Topcoat.  I used this as I had read that it doesn't dull the holo and have had good results before, but there was a noticeable difference in the holo flash once it was applied this time.  There still was lots of holo though because the polish is so holo-riffic!

 photo Picture647_zps6ef5ba99.jpg

I still have lots of Valentine's Day related mani's to post...I'm not sure if there is any interest in getting them posted now that the day has passed.....I may post them over the new few posts...or they may just show up randomly at a later time, not sure yet!
